This projector is such a bargain price for all it does. I can fit my firestick on the side perfectly. However, one disadvantage is the noise and sound of the fan throughout the power being on and the projection being played. It’s annoying. Once you familiarise yourself with the functions its easy and simple to use and connect. Picture and vision quality is 5/5.
Great colours and sound not too bad from the in built speakers. Not the best so I’d use a Bluetooth speaker if watching a movie. Decent brightness but would only use in the dark. Easy to set up with the provided tripod and adjusting the focus was simple. Sadly had to return mine as somehow there was a lot of dust on the inside of the lens and I didn’t want to risk taking it apart myself to clean it and possible damage it.
Despite its modest price, the projector’s performance exceeded my expectations. While the built-in speakers are not impressive, connecting it to external speakers significantly enhances its performance. The image quality is crisp, and the colours are vibrant. It has become my go-to projector for the garden, and I’m eager to watch the Euro Cup on it.
This project is a great starter for anyone that fancies a IDY home cinema and is on a budget!
Unboxing and setup was really straight forward. And I found the tripod that was included really helped when trying to get the image just right.
I used it with my laptop connected to it via the HMDI port and found after just a bit if playing around the image with beautifully clear with nice bring colour.
So far, we have watched a few films using it with no problem whatsoever!
Really impressive for the price
This is the second Yoton brand projector that I have bought; I was so impressed with the first one (Yoton mini). I must mention the excellent customer service I received as, being a novice, all of my little queries were answered promptly and with a positive outcome.
The first thing I noticed was, WOW, the Yoton Y6 projects a really sharp and clear picture, even in the detail. My teens really enjoy the ‘at home’ cinema experience! The image is focused by using a wheel on the top of the projector and there is also a keystone adjuster so the image is always projected well to whatever surface it is projected upon.
The Y6 is a budget range but delivers above expectations. It is a great, sturdy, design and also comes with 12 months warranty and that customer service that I mentioned. It comes with a remote control, tripod (really nice addition), HDMI cable, power and AV cables and a cute little screw that fixes at the bottom front to give that all important image screening angle (see one of my photos). You may need to purchase extra cables/adaptors that are not provided. I personally use an extension lead as this works well for me. I found the sound to be as great as the picture clarity; the projector itself is louder than the mini; however, this is no issue as you can easily turn it down (the fan sound) in the settings if you wish. It does not interfere with the experience in any event!
I use the projector connected to my laptop as I’ve all my favourites to watch on the big screen right there. The Y6 projector seems to be compatible with many media methods as there is more than one input slot. My other family members have more up-to-date devices to connect and there is always trusty Bluetooth to connect with. I like the buttons on the top, really easy to use for those who do not like a remote and, also, the buttons are aesthetically pleasing 🙂
I’d would highly recommend the Y6, five stars from me!
– Review for Projector 4K, YOTON Y6 1080P Native 12000 Lux, 2024 Upgraded Bluetooth 5.2 Mini Projector with Tripod, Portable Home Video Movie Projector Compatible with iOS / Android / Tablet / HDMI / USB / AV / TV / SD card || Price: 79.99 (at time of ordering) –
I wasn’t really expecting much from such a cheap projector, but it’s surprisingly decent. Setup is straightforward, and you’ll need a Chromecast/Firestick/Apple TV if you want to stream something like Prime or Netflix. Sadly you can’t do this from a phone or computer for licensing reasons, but you can play video files if you own them. It comes with an HD cable to plug into your device of choice, and you’ll need an adaptor if it doesn’t have an HD port.
I’ve set mine up with an old Firestick and it works like a dream. The picture is really clear, and I’ve been projecting onto a white sheet hung on my garden fence for movies nights (when it’s warm enough!) It’s so much fun, I’m really thrilled with how it performs. Highly recommended.
This bluetooth projector was just what we needed in our bedroom, as we had no space for a TV due to our built in wardrobes, so we have put this on a shelf above the bed and project it onto a pull down screen.
It was a bit fiddly to setup but we managed to connect it to our iPad pro and it works now, connecting to Netflix etc.,
The picture is OK, we mainly use it in the evening with the curtains closed, otherwise it looks a bit washed out.
Its obviously not as crystal clear as a standard TV but for what it is, it works very well.
I think it is good value, compared to others, as we will get a lot of use out of it.
I would recommend.
I ordered this Yuton Y6 projector to use during the summer to show some movies in my garden in the evening and also to use at home, although im going to have to set up my living room differently.
It comes with a tripod stand, a hdmi cable, av cables , remote control.
It takes a 4k input but changes it to 1080p, the quality of the picture looks good on a screen and you can focus it easily using the notched knob and also you can adjust the angle so that it sits straight on your wall/screen.
I used this with my firestick and it worked really well, the only disappointment i had was that i couldnt get it to connect to my Yamaha soundbar. But that sound from the projector wasnt that bad, and i had it only half way, so could have made it louder. I think the issue is that it is expecting a passcode return of 0000 and this isnt sending it, maybe its something that can be solved in a future firmware? If there is such a an update.
You can also put files on a sd card and usb stick and show these either as photos or movies in various formats, although it is a bit picky about the format.
It also has a av in so you can connect your videos devices that use av and show these on the screen.
I tested it on a 100″ screen, which was perfectly acceptable for me, it works best in dark settings, any light causes the pictures to look very drained, but this is the same with most of these projectors.
I am likely to just use it with my firestick though, as it plugs into the HDMI socket and then you just connect it to a usb socket on the projector to power it. If i need to send anything to my firestick from my phone or tablet this is the best way to do it.
Noisewise the projector does make some noise as they all do, as it has a fan running but its really not that bad over the sound from the movie your watching.
Wanted a small in-expensive projector to use in my campervan. Acquired this one to review.
This projector is very easy to use. The controls are intuitive, duplicated on the top of the projector in the form of some clicky buttons, or via the basic remote control that didn’t come with batteries.
As per my short video demo, the brightness level is good, plus a clear picture. The adjustment for focus, and keystone is done via two bevels arounds the lens which you manually adjust.
Considering the price of this projector, 79.99 exc a 15% to be applied at checkout, that for me is great value. Sure if you’re after a premium projector this isn’t for you so my review is based upon this price point and functionality etc.
The projector has great selection on in built multimedia interfaces, plus bluetooth, and came with a mini tripod that screws into the bottom of the unit. It’s important you check if this projector has the support to work with your source.
I did find that you have to move the projector quite far back to achieve the claimed maximum screen size so take that in mind when considering your requirements. To get this projector to maximise the size you’ll need some distance from the screen.
This all said, it’s a great projector, the menu is very easy to navigate. The case itself is nicely made, plus a good selection of accessories etc. I noticed some people mentioning dust on the lens, yes mine had it to but was easy to clean.
This projector seems to be pretty decent for the price. Picture quality and brightness was quite good.
It states that it’s compatible with Android devices, but fails to mention that some such devices do not allow screen mirroring. I had to buy an HDMI to USB-C adapter to find this out (this adapter type is not included), and only then did I find that my Samsung A21s doesn’t support export of video. I tried it on my partner’s new Doogee tablet with no success, so I assume this also doesn’t support mirroring. I’ve now run out of Android devices to try.
This I felt I had to accept as a shortcoming of the devices we’re using, rather than the projector (though the listing does imply that all Android devices will work). More concerning was that I got the same “no signal” message from the projector when connected to my Asus gaming laptop, and I’m at a loss as to why this would be the case.
I attempted to find a solution on the company’s website, but this model isn’t in their product list.
I was able to view video and photos on a micro SD card (though had some trouble getting this into the slot, and it seemed as if there were gaps around the slot for the card, into which it easily slid, I did manage it).
This is quite disappointing for me, as I particularly wanted to use this when car camping or in the garden in the Summer to mirror content via the internet from my phone. It will still have a place, as we can take favourite films/programmes we have on MP4, but it won’t serve the primary purpose we wanted.
All that being said, it should do this for people with higher end Android devices, and perhaps I can figure out a solution to the laptop problem – it’s a well-priced, reasonably small projector that provides a decent picture and can be connected wirelessly to an external speaker or headphones.
This budget projector is really pretty good and is definitely worth the price. The projector came with an HDMI cable, a compact tripod stand, a remote control, a power cable, and an AV cable, as well as a quick start guide and instruction manual.
The projector feels well-made; it has a solid plastic housing, responsive clicky buttons located on the top, two HDMI ports, a USB port, headphone and AV sockets, and a port for a microSD card. There is also a handy dust cover for the lens.
The image focus is adjusted via a wheel accessible from the top of the device, and there is also a keystone adjuster, so you can ensure the projected image matches the surface it is displayed on.
The picture quality is excellent, considering this is a budget projector. The lines are crisp, the details are sharp, and the colours are bright and accurate. The picture can be fine-tuned and adjusted to your liking via the easy-to-navigate settings window.
The sound quality is not the best, but there is a headphone socket, so you can have the sound connected to a stereo or speaker system, so this is not really a problem. The projector’s fan is a little noisy when you are sitting next to it, but again, this is not really an issue when you are watching a film.
Connecting your devices to the projector is not difficult, and you can easily switch between the input sources. There is also the option to connect to the projector via Bluetooth, if you prefer this method. It definitely makes connecting your phone easier.
I would prefer it if the power cable was a little longer, as it would make it easier to position the projector around my home. This is not really an issue when I am using it outside, as I use an extension lead anyway.
I am super impressed with this excellent, budget-friendly projector and I would happily recommend it.
Comes in a retail box with HDMI cable, av cable, remote control, power cable, tripod with fixtures and manuals (quick start and user manual)
This is an ok entry level 1080p projector with a reasonable brightness to it but being entry level the image quality is not the best and i found either the top or the bottom of the projected image was slightly out of focus.
Ive tested this with a usb c to hdmi lead with my phone and it works fine and i have also tested this with
a usb key and ive found it does not support h265 encoded mp4 files only h264 and they have to be 1080p as 1440p files show an unsupported file type error and i guess 4k files would also not be supported, the claimed 4k support is only for a hdmi connection i guess.
This also has its own speaker which is usable but you are better using an external one via the audio out or blue tooth as the audio quality is pretty bad and the internal cooling fan is a bit noisy as well.
I did check the yoton website for a firmware update hoping for better video codec support but this projector does not even exist on the website so that was a waste of time.
My Y6 was received in a sealed box and seemed to be brand new but it had tons of dust on the inside of the lens out of the box and i will have to take the projector apart to clean that so i cant recommend this item based on the filthy condition because i have seen other review images with the same dust covered lens which is unacceptable for a “brand new” projector.
A native 1080p projector for less than a 100, seriously how good could this be? Actually, not too bad at all! Back in the day I had a conventional DLP 1080p projector and more recently I tested a Tri-Laser ultra short throw projector. Okay, it doesn’t come close to the Tri-Laser setup (but that was 30x the cost) however, it’s not far from my old bulb DLP model.
Let’s get something’s straight first when it comes to specs. Don’t be fooled by the 12000LM figure, this brightness value will be from the projector’s light source, if even that, which I doubt it is. I always tend to look for the ANSI Lumens figure. The lumen value for a projector’s light source is not the same as the lumen value for the projector. In reality the light from the projector’s light source diminishes quite a bit before it is even projected, since it’s transformed by the projector’s imaging mechanism as it passes through the projector. What this means is that on average the ANSI lumen is a lot lower. I would say that the ANSI lumens on this is around 200-300 at best. If I can say anything, just ignore the over exaggerated specification claims!
However, that doesn’t mean it’s bad, I just wish these companies would advertise it correctly without misleading consumers. That out the way, I was actually quite impressed with the picture quality and brightness that this did give for the price. It’s more than acceptable and video playback was good. It needs to be used in a darker room, don’t expect it to perform well in daylight. It was also easy to get the focus and key correction setup and it also comes with a number of accessories like a remote and tripod which is very handy.
Sound quality wasn’t great, you’d definitely need some external speakers, and that isn’t helped with the loud fan noise it makes to keep it cool. It’s not the quietest projector I’ve ever used. However, I have to keep reminding myself the price…Big screen entertainment doesn’t come much cheaper than this. If your looking for a cheap projector this one isn’t too bad at all.
Fantastic A+ Projector. Works great with my Chromecast and projects a very clear 4K quality image/video. Audio also works perfectly. Comes with a desk top tripod, all connective wires and remote so you’re good to go.
This is a 1080P projector from YOTON.
The projector comes with remote control although there were no accompanied batteries for it. HDMI cable, Audio cable and power cable.
The side of the projector has 2 x HDMI ports, Micro SD slot, USB port, Audio and a headphones port.
Setting the projector up was very straight forward as I simply connected the HDMI cable from which ever device you would like to it and it works from my PC, PS5, Laptop and mobile devices.
When switching the projector On you will have to select the language and then which port your wish to play from.
The projector display is quite clear although I noticed the bottom of the image was in focus and top was not which I thought maybe an issue until I realised you can also tilt the lens as well so that they will then both be in focus. There is also the main focus adjuster as well and so maintaining the image focus was fully adjustable from all angles.
My laptop recognised the projector as a secondary display and worked fine. I did notice that the top refresh rate for the projector that I could set it to was 60Hz which could be an issue with fast games if played from PS5 which supports 120Hz and so simple games maybe all you play with this projector.
The projector also does make quite a lot noise from the cooling fan I presume and so you will have to take that into account as well if you sit near it whilst using it.
The dimensions of the projector are : 12.8 x 22.5 x 32.1 cm and weighing 2.07 kg.
There is Bluetooth support on the projector but only for Audio.
Overall this is good entry level projector at a reasonable price.
