I use it around fences, concrete corners and the sheds. Those funny parts you can’t get with a mower. It is straightforward to use. Not so heavy and easy to grasp with both hands. It seems sturdy as it does simple trimming. It doesn’t vibrate when you use and the wires seem to last (once you get a grip on angling and using around certain surfaces).
Great price, good product.
Strimmer delivered in small box and you just have to attach each piece together. Appearance is very smart and max it takes is a few minutes to put together. It is leightweight and it comes with instructions for a 3 year warranty that you can set up yourself on the bosch website. Already used for around 30 mins power is good and matains strong power if you keep an eye on the wire length. Had no problems at all with it’s handling or the wire breaking too quickly. Cord is shorter than I’m used to so if you have a bigger garden make sure you have an extension cable.
I have gone for a German Chinese strimmer. The build quality and strimmer cable feed mechanism are far superior to previous strimmers. This is a seriously professional tool, and with mains power can run at full power for as long as the job needs!
Easy to assemble although the screw used to secure the guard broke in two whilst in use so can no longer use the guard but does not effect its use .
Great product for a small to medium size garden.
Be sure to purchase a replacement thread when buying because the one supplied is of poor quality and would struggle to cut through butter.
I hate strimmers, but the grass had grown so long and the man who mows my lawn hasn’t been able to work since last year, so I had no option but to try and sort it out. Never had a good experience with a strimmer, I usually end up injured, or the grass looks cut but then long bits start popping back up the next day, or the line keeps snapping.
This strimmer is great. Easy to use, the adjustable handle helps to hold and control it, and the only time the line snapped was on a particularly large and chunky weed. However, it was quick and easy to refeed the line and carry on. For the price, this strimmer is brilliant.
Weighing around 2 Kg., this plastic and metal constructed strimmer was so easy to assemble, most of it having been done so already.
The hollow tubular metal arm arrives folded into three section with the power cable running down the middle; think of an elasticated folding walking stick/cane, usually for the elderly.
Holes in the tube allow spring loaded metal studs to click into place for assembly/disassembly (I recommend that the strimmer is left assembled.)
The plastic strimmer guard beneath slides, then clicks into place.
Opposite to the plastic rear guard, is an adjustable metal wire bar, which may be slideither nearer or further away from the strimmer.
This pushes plants away from the strimming cord beneath, protecting flower beds, etc.
The strimmer’s cord cassette, simply drops into place beneath the red capped cover, that is in the base.
To open, squeeze the opposite marked sides together to release.
It clicks back into place.
Thread the cord through the hole in the axle assembly and adjust to the length required.
A two way switch arrangement built into the top handle, switches it on and the lower switches either side, keeps the power switched on during use.
Depressing the main switch shuts off the power.
The safety orange coloured flex/rubber plug, is 6 metres long.
Use an RCD device when strimming, sensible footwear and sometimes protective eyewear for those hidden bits of debris.
There is an adjustable lower front handle, angled to requirements, by depressing both sides of the handle’s red buttons simultaneously; releasing them the handle clicks into a preset position.
Readjust until the best comfortable position is found.
I use this handle to hang the folded electric flex.
Easy to store, clean and use.
It’s a classic well thought out, well design strimmer, competitively priced unit for these financially slimmer times; cut costs, not quality.
I use it for edging and keeping grass down in areas that are difficult to mow. The Bosch is easy to assemble, and it’s intuitive to operate, light without being flimsy. My only concern is that the cutting cord does appear to wear quickly.
This was delivered in a very compact box, but it does exactly what it should do. The line did break a few times on me having to take the bottom off to feed through again but I was expecting that. For the price it’s ideal
The Bosch Electric Grass Trimmer is easy to assemble without reading the instructions! It is very lightweight and simple to operate; press the trigger to start. It cuts my thick dense grass with ease and accuracy. After each use, I use a damp cloth to clean it.
The trimmer is sturdy and I am pleased with its performance. I can recommend it.
I purchased this to replace an old Flymo strimmer, for which I can no longer get spools. I was surprised at the small size of the box, but the strimmer was easy to snap together, no tools are needed except for a screwdriver to secure the cover. Once out in the garden this little machine did a great job of slicing through the 25cm tall overgrown grass and some fairly hefty weed stalks. The adjustable handle made it easy to find the best position and there is plenty of spool cable left after an hours usage. As others have mentioned the electric cable could be longer and you will most probably need an extension cable for anything but the smallest of lawns. For the price this lightweight strimmer packs quite a punch in terms of its performance. On first use, it seems to have been a great buy!
I only have a small garden and this machine cut very long grass easily. It’s lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. A good amount of cord too.
The only issue was working out how to attach the metal bit which only has to be screwed in to attach it to the machine. As there’s no instructions it took a little while.
That’s the only reason I’ve given it a 4 star rating.
