Heat sinks are great ideas, shame they do not fit in most laptops. Had to remove it and install the card with some old plastic heatsinks I had left over. Would just by the same card without the heatsink next time. Corsair make good stuff, seems reliable and better value than other name brands. As its had the top read/write speed, while also having 3d Nand and TLC buffers.
i got this to upgrade my laptops 500gb nvme drive. this will work in a laptop but you need to remove the heatsink. do note that corsair has instructions on their site for how to do this. they also state that removing the heatsink will not affect your warranty. after swapping my old drive with this i was blown away by how much faster this is. i’m not sure the exact specs of my old drive but this one’s definitely faster, by a lot. i’ve used corsair stuff before and never had an issue so i don’t expect any problems with this. so far i’ve used it for a long while and have had no issues.
installation was easy and i used the existing hardware from my old drive on this.
i honestly am shocked by how fast this is and even more by how much space this thing has. overall i would definitely recommend this. especially after seeing that the warranty is still good if you need to remove the heatsink for installation.
I have been waiting for this model for a while. Bought it instantly once it was available for my PS5. I was initially reluctant to buy whether it would be compatible for PS5. The transfer and the game loading rates are great. Also it was delivered within a day. If your are looking to expand your PS5 storage, please do go for this model.
I put this into my pc a few months ago to replace my old hard drive and it has sped up my pc significantly. It took me about 5 mins to put this in, and then set it up on the pc. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants a really good NVME, and has the budget to buy this.
This ssd is really fast compared to my previous ssd and super easy to install. The m.2 doesn’t come with the little screw though so you’ll need to check your mother board box and hope it’s still there I luckily had the screw from my other ssd. The install is super quick and I haven’t had any issues. 2 Tb is plenty of room to be your main drive.
This drive is fast and roomy. In general you want to install your OS and applications you want to run quickly on a NVMe drive like this one. Bulk storage on spinning disk good for content that isn’t used often or doesn’t need the speed offers.
That being said, I installed it and had no problems using it. Corsair also seems to have the same version for PS5 that has a white heatsink, but I think this would work fine in a PS5 as it just looks like the color of the heat sink is white.
Also this drive is offering 7,000 MB/s sequential reads when a lot of drives top off at 5,000 MB/s
System Specs:
MB: ASUS MAXIMUS HERO XIII z590
CPU: Intel 11900k
GPU: EVGA RTX 3090
I installed this in M.2_3 of my board which has dedicated chipset lanes and only supports PCIe 3.0 x4 not PCIe 4.0 so keep that in mind as you look at the benchmark data I included. This drive will not reach its max supported speeds as currently configured in my system and I’m fine with that. It still absolutely screams compared to a standard SATA SSD. The drive installed easily but you may find that, depending on your motherboard’s configuration, you’ll have to choose between the heatsink Corsair designed and the one that came with your board. In my case I chose to keep the Corsair heatsink. The drive was immediately recognized by the OS and, after formatting, came online without issues.
I’m using this drive to store my Steam library, my Downloads folder, and several VMware VMs. After several days of use I can confidently recommend this storage for your next build or as an addition to your current one!
