I had the Gimbal RS-C2, and I upgraded to the RS-4. They are very similar, but it has an auto-lock feature. It’s much easier to adjust for different cameras with lenses. The thermoplastic coating improves stabilization slightly. It also has a recording function using a button via Bluetooth, which is very convenient because I don’t have to connect wires. Overall, it’s a good device.
Never used a gimbal before and this is an amazing product which I wish I owned alot sooner. it truly offers great value for money. Despite being a high end product, it doesn’t break the bank. However, I do wish DJI had included a carrying bag for the price. Moving on to performance, adjusting the axis parameters was nice and easy after reading the manual. It securely holds my camera and lens. The standard battery lasts an impressive 12 hours. The 1.8″ color OLED display is easy to read and the Bluetooth connectivity allows me to control my camera, take photos, and shoot videos using the RONIN keys. Creating videos with the RS4 is a lot of fun as it provides a unique perspective and allows for smoother footage. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this order and definitely will order the next release.
It’s hard to know where to start with a gimbal like the DJI. It’s updated in several ways from earlier models and when you open the box you can tell it’s a quality product. Everything about it says quality.
The build quality in particular is very high. This feelsl ike it will last a very long time.
Balancing any gimbal can take a few practice runs, but I found this pretty straightforward. I’m using it with a Sony A7iv, which already has stabilisation, but the gimbal offers a higher level of stabilisation for video work
One thing I will say is that the build quality is reflected in the weight. There’s some heft to this thing! Whether you would consider it heavy depends on what you’re used to and your own strength levels. In my case it’s considerably heavier than I’m used to holding for any length of time so I definitely feel it.
I especially like the app and the control it gives you. The force feedback motion control is a lot of fun to play with. I’m not ashamed to admit I tried to make my camera dance 😀 But on a serious note it has a lot of uses and of course you can plot a movement path using the app. Handy for timelapses and so on. In my case I’ll be using it to give a little extra movement to product shots.
This is obviously intended for someone serious about getting smooth video footage and as such it will take you a little time to get used to it. I’m still learning and I’m far from experienced.
But if you want a solid performer, well made and sturdy, you can’t really go wrong with this.
Auch u.a.
Lot’s of nice improvements having moved from the RSC-2 to this. Very easy to balance, works great with my cameras, I wouldn’t consider any other brand of gimbal, DJI have never disappointed
I already own two gimbals from fairly mid-range brands, I knew DJI made gimbals (I also have 8 of their drones) but didn’t want to push myself up to the price point when I felt the gimbals I had were adequate.
And within 5 minutes of turning this DJI gimbal on, I was shown how much of a mistake that was. I absolutely should have just gone right with DJI.
There are two things with this gimbal that surprised and wowed me straight away.
1) The balancing took literally seconds. The other two gimbals, I’d have to fiddle about sometimes for up to 10-15 minutes making micro adjustments. This gimbal needed some slight adjustment on each axis and was done.
2) The auto locking mechanism. Turn the gimbal on, it’ll expand and be ready. Turn it off, the arms put themselves back to storage mode and lock for you. It is so, so efficient and wonderful to have this.
As you can see in my video, I didn’t even bother taking off my cage or even the wrist strap, and I can tell you that I threw this gimbal about for fun and it took everything like a champ. Other gimbals I’ve used required a rear handle and even shoulder straps due to their weight, this DJI one feels pleasant in just one hand.
Paired with my Sony a7iv and Tamron 17-28, there were no signs of balancing issues or distress on the axes.
As with all gimbals I’ve used, there will probably be several features I’ll never even get to see or utilise. I know with the app and even through the gimbal menus there’s some fun and useful looking features but all I want is a stable platform to film from, and that’s exactly what I’ve got.
He vuelto a comprar otra unidad y esta si viene perfecta.
DJI RS 4, a 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR, arrived well-packed. It’s like a magic wand for your camera, it’s made of good quality and is very strong. It provides a good grip. It keeps shots super steady even when you’re moving around. You can use it with various cameras up to 3KG. It’s really good for filming smooth videos because I can easily control it with a joystick and app ( DJI RONIN). The good thing is you don’t need additional accessories to shoot vertically. If you’re into making videos, this gimbal is a game changer. Highly recommend.
As with all DJI products I’ve used previously, this gimbal is fantastic. Having tried a friends RS3 previously but never actually owning a gimble before and this being the latest gimble release by DJI, I was so excited to not only test it but use it often.
I paired the gimble, updated the firmware, completed the setup and paired it with my camera via Bluetooth, which was easy to do following the steps and took no time at all. After initially pairing the gimble with the camera you don’t have to do it again.
While I’m still learning, the basics are easy to use and the it produces amazing results. Incredibly stable and smooth. Up to 3KG payload supported which is fantastic. My gear is well below this but good to know it can support more. The battery life is insane and it supports fast charging so as long as you chuck it on charge periodically, it’ll never run out.
I don’t have any issues with the teflon coating leaving residue on my hands. Personally I quite like how smooth it feels.
One thing I would note, if you’re about to buy this, it doesn’t come with a case. A bit of kit of this value really needs a case so it’s a shame that even a basic/cheap soft shell carry case isn’t included. Might be a good idea to buy a decent hard shell case before/at the same time as purchasing this.
This gimbal has significantly enhanced my video production. Transitioning between horizontal and vertical modes was straightforward, facilitating diverse shooting angles effortlessly. The balance and smoothness provided by the Teflon-coated arms were remarkable, capturing polished and professional footage. The battery life was sufficient for prolonged shoots, which was essential during trips or long sessions. However, I found that mastering the various modes and settings had a bit of a learning curve. Overall, this tool boosted my creative capabilities, enabling more dynamic and engaging content creation.
The DJI RS 4 is a game-changer in the world of gimbal stabilizers, offering a remarkable blend of innovation, versatility, and reliability. I can confidently say it’s a must-have for any serious videographer or filmmaker.
One of the standout features of the RS 4 is its compatibility with a wide range of DSLR and mirrorless cameras from industry-leading brands like Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, and Fujifilm. This versatility ensures that whether you’re shooting with a compact mirrorless setup or a professional-grade DSLR rig, the RS 4 has you covered.
The second-generation native vertical shooting capability is a game-changer for content creators who need to capture portrait-oriented footage seamlessly. This feature opens up new creative possibilities, especially for social media content and vertical video platforms.
The inclusion of a 2-mode switch joystick adds another layer of control, allowing for precise adjustments on the fly. Whether you’re panning, tilting, or following fast-paced action, the joystick delivers smooth and responsive movements, enhancing the overall shooting experience.
One of the most impressive aspects of the RS 4 is its Teflon axis arms, which provide exceptional stability and durability. This design not only ensures smooth operation but also contributes to the longevity of the gimbal, even under demanding shooting conditions.
Setting up the RS 4 is a breeze, thanks to its intuitive design and user-friendly interface. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a novice filmmaker, you’ll appreciate how easy it is to get up and running with this device.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, the RS 4 is the ultimate tool for capturing stunning footage that will wow your audience.

Compatible with DSLR and mirrorless cameras from major brands like Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Nikon, and Fujifilm, this stabilizer offers unmatched versatility that allows me to explore various shooting styles and techniques with ease.
One of the standout features of the DJI RS 4 is its 2nd-Gen Native Vertical Shooting capability, which seamlessly transitions between horizontal and vertical orientations. Whether I’m capturing sweeping landscapes or intimate portraits, the gimbal adapts effortlessly to suit my creative vision. This level of flexibility is invaluable, especially when creating content for online platforms where different aspect ratios may be required.
Moreover, the intuitive controls and 2-mode switch joystick make it incredibly easy to make precise adjustments on the fly, ensuring that I always get the perfect shot. And with the Teflon Axis Arms providing smooth stabilization, even in challenging shooting conditions, I can trust that my footage will be stable and professional-looking every time.

Whether you’re an avid photographer, a content creator, or both, investing in the DJI RS 4 is a decision you won’t regret.
The DJI RS 4 is a very impressive 3-Axis Gimbal for DSLR cameras up to 3KG in weight. The gimbal is remarkably easy to use and the first time setup instructions are easy to follow. The device is simple to control and benefits from a little touch screen for the main controls. It also comes with a tripod style stand for placing the gimbal in a fixed position.
There are many great functions of this gimbal, including the range of different modes, RSA Communication, Joystick mode etc.
Absolutely tremendous gimbal that’s well worth the money if your doing high quality videography.
excellent 3 axis stabiliser.
the quality is top-notch.
fantastic compatibility with a wide range of cameras.
Excellent app, works seamlessly well.
like any other tech gadget from DJI, this one is also amazingly developed and full of tech surprises and features. For a true videographer, director etc, this is an indispensable tool.
Wonderful bit of kit, lots to learn of course but still useable on basic settings straight out of the box.
I say straight away, but you should… at the very least… check out the videos that accompany this listing. These things are precision instruments, and you don’t want to mess things up by simply diving in.
First job was to charge the battery, which came basically empty. A measured charge recorded around 4500mAh to full. I’ll keep an eye subsequent battery cycles, as the very first charge usually doesn’t represent the true capacity.
On first powerup, you are advised that you have 5 attempts before you need to scan the code shown on the display screen, and download the DJI app. I did this when down to 2 remaining. The sign-up on the app wasn’t quite a slick as I would have imagined it to be, and the necessary emailed-confirmation (which you have to click to verify your email address) was totally in Chinese. I took a chance on the first/top link, and thankfully that did the job, although I could have been ordering a Chinese meal for all I knew.
Once done, the signing into the app and connecting via bluetooth immediately flagged up a firmware update for the gimbal, which took just a few minutes.
The photos I’ve uploaded show a Nikon DSLR on there just to try it out. It’s pretty old and not compatible with the full range of features this gimbal offers, but it’s certainly enough to get a good idea of the mechanics of this DJI, and the controls of the thumb joystick.
Once everything is balanced, checked and double-checked, giving it a try-out shows just how smooth this thing is. There’s loads of room for other attachments you may have on you camera, and in my particular case, the weight was only just over 1/3rd of what this gimbal is rated to carry.
One of the pics also shows a couple of phone gimbals, which I’ve used with great success since buying them over 3 years ago. I’ve put these next to the DJI just to give an idea of size in comparison.
Although the basic concept is the same for all 3, this RS4 is of course in a league of its’ own.
The build quality is excellent, and you know you’ve got a top-notch piece of equipment in you’re hands, which gives confidence it’ll keep your treasured camera in one piece and working as it should… given a fully compatible model of course.
There isn’t a case with the basic RS4 set, and that’s something I would urge you to consider if going for this model. Fortunately I have a number of hard shell cases big enough for the job, and although unbranded, will do the job (if not better) than a DJI case. Whatever you choose, I can tell you it’s highly unlikely you’ll get it ‘back in the box’ after a try-out, as it was packed in a VERY specific way.
Excellent product from a tried-and-trusted name, and although a future camera upgrade ‘may’ reveal niggles or shortcomings, I honestly can’t see anything to fault on my (somewhat limited) workout with the RS4.
On a quality/value-for-money basis… 5-Stars.
The DJI Ronin RS 4 is a highly regarded gimbal known for its ease of use and efficiency in setup, making it a favorite for vertical shooting. It’s praised for its Teflon-coated arms and micro-adjustment knob, which significantly improve the balancing experience. The gimbal is capable of handling a heavy payload, making it suitable for professional mirrorless or DSLR cameras.
One of the standout features of the Ronin RS 4 is its advanced stabilization technology, which effectively minimizes camera shake and vibrations, even when shooting in challenging environments. This ensures that every shot is silky smooth, whether you’re filming fast-paced action scenes or slow, cinematic shots.
Overall, the DJI Ronin RS 4 is a solid choice for videographers looking for a reliable and user-friendly gimbal to enhance their shooting capabilities
If you are reading this, you will already know that this is not just a gimbal for a SLR camera, but it is actually one of the best available.
This one features everything that was on the RS3 but benefits from the RS 4 having a longer tilt-axis arm than its predecessor, which makes it possible to add more accessories to the camera without running out of room on the arm to balance it all. The arm is 8.5mm longer than the arm on the RS 3, which is enough to allow you to add microphones, etc., on top of the camera. In total, it can carry up to 3kg, but the new arm means that weight does not necessarily have to be placed right around the center of gravity of the camera.
The app is still very good and is on the app store for Apple, but you can only download the Android version from DJI’s website, but this is not a problem.
I can highly recommend this.
For once words fail me, I have been a big fan of DJI products for several years and own several drones and gimbals but boy is this the cherry on the top of the cake.
My only gripe for now is I don’t have any jobs booked where I can use its full capabilities so have only been able tp test functions in the studio.
Compared to my RS3 it is a lot heavier, that was the first thing I noticed and a little harder to balance initially, but once set up this thing is buttery smooth.
Initial pairing is via the Ronin app and then like pretty much every device I have purchased from DJI there is the ubiquitous firmware upgrade to get out of the way.
Pairing to supported camera via bluetooth is childs play, turn on pairing on the camera, turn on Bluetooth on the Gimbal and your’e paired, the camera I have mounted in the photos is a Sony ZV-E10 which works flawlessly cable free and is no problem for the gamble to handle irrespective of lens size or whether cage mounted.
Once paired the camera and gimbal remember each other so no wasted time on next use.
I note other reviews have been critical of the Teflon coating, I’m not sure why as it definitely makes for a smoother use experience, at least in comparison to my RS3, I haven’t used any other camera gimbals from DJI so can only speak from personal experience.
I will admit that vertical shooting had me flummoxed for a while and required a fair bit of YouTube university to get my head around it, this short form is something I am starting to get into more so it is nice to have the option though I have recently ordered a Pocket 3 which is probably better suited to everyday use than this.
I’m afraid I haven’t been able to test the RSA Comms port as I don’t currently have anything suitable to attach but am musing on get the new DJI Focus pro so it’s good to know that I am future proofed when the time comes.
Not having the Pro version I will now be on the lookout for a carrying case as this is too large for my existing case and a tad too unwieldy to be just slung into a backpack
It’s been a few years since I last used a I DJI RS 3 Axis gimbal; coming to version 4 from version 2 is a bit of a revelation. Balancing a gimbal well is the heart of using them; and the RS4 with its Teflon coated rails is a breeze to align. On the horizontal axis there is a fine-tuning wheel; it would be great if that was also on the vertical axis. I tried it with a Panasonic G9 ii and Canon R5 with a mix of lenses large and small and I found I could balance both — as a new user — in under 2 minutes -only when using a 70-200 did it take that long. One part of the calibration that makes it simple is the camera mount has a raised plastic bumper that acts as a T-square and helps line up your lens with the gimbal.
Once balanced there is a calibration in the app that checks the setup and adjusts the motors to tune the response to the load.
There is a mountain of settings inside the app that adjust how the gimbal responds as you move it; you can have fast snapping movement as you turn the gimbal; or a buttery smooth slower motion. On the gimbal itself there are a lot of controls accessible in the screen; though it’s a shame they didn’t mimic the Osmo and have a large flip out screen. It allows you to set things up if your phone isn’t available. Helping the smooth shots is the weight; the gimbal with the standard battery weights in just over 1kg; using the RS4 for a long time without a strap is tiring on the arms.
I found I could control my cameras with Bluetooth removing the need for a cable. (On my canon I had to enable remote control in the menus to let it work.) Connecting by Bluetooth starting and stopping recording shots is easy. Holding the gimbal, you can adjust the direction of the camera with the joystick; there are settings to control the performance which allows you to use it for smooth panning and tilting shots.
The active track feature works very well with a mix of objects; if you want to use the gimbal to record whilst you perform in some way it will track you as you go.
There are some stills functions like timelapse and panoramas. The timelapse feature is a little basic, lacking exposure control and delays between shots. It requires you to use the cable to use. For simple timelapses it could be very useful; and save you carrying a separate motion head for the shots. The panorama feature really benefits from the gimbals new quick switch to portrait mode for the camera. You can unplug the horizontal axis and re attach it to the gimbal in portrait mode. When you do it rebalance and run the calibration again.
Charging the gimbal up is easy; it’s one usb socket on the battery. I experimented with the gimbal on and off for 4 hours over the weekend and the battery was at 54% when I was done which is excellent. The kit includes 2 usb cables; one for charging and a shorter one to connect to cameras that don’t work with Bluetooth — or for the photo modes.
One thing you don’t get with the base RS4 is a case, which is a shame as the manual makes it clear it’s a fragile piece of kit. It fits in my camera backpacks laptop sleeve though which is handy.
It’s a very easy to live with gimbal. If you, like me have an older one, it’s well worth the upgrade for the easy balancing and long battery life.
I love that dji have kept up with the ease of vertical shooting that most gimbals are adopting now it makes for quick and easy video shorts on my socials, the gimbal is smooth as you’d expect dji are the masters at this by now and this does not disappoint, payload at 3kg is great it can take some hefty gear, my a7iv and 24-70 no problem at all, so far it has been a great upgrade for me, highly recommended.
Having owned the original and RS2, to see the improvements DJI has made is amazing. It still has the super impressive payload 3kg payload capacity but now it’s even lighter and made of stronger materials. The built quality of the handgrips and all the mounting plates feels top quality and smooth in your hand, unlike cheaper alternatives.
The features packed into this model are game changing with the vertical shooting option without requiring any additional accessories! The smoothness is also improved together with the inbuilt camera stabilisation of my FX3, there’s not wobble whatsoever! I love the convenience of the Bluetooth shutter button, eliminating the need for extra cables as well as the connection to the phone app for super easy controls. The 1.8″ OLED touchscreen is also a nice touch, providing quick access to settings without needing the Ronin app, something my previous model lacked. And with a battery life of up to 29.5 hours and fast charging capability, I can shoot all day without worrying about running out of power. Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with the new DJI RS 4 and would highly recommend it to any filmmaker or content creator without one or anyone looking to upgrade!
