I recently bought an ipad air 2024 11″. I don’t use an apple pen and I don’t play computer games. But I do use apps and I was finding that every time I touched the screen, I left a fingermark on it. I didn’t think I had particularly greasy fingers, but these marks were hard to get rid of, especially after much prodding the screen.
So I looked at the various types of screen cover available.
My main concern was applying a sticky one smoothly to the surface of the screen. I could foresee problems with alignment and air bubbles.
There seem to be 3 main types of cover, one that is like paper, so there is slight friction to stop the pen sliding about. One that is smooth and doesn’t dull the screen. And one that is a sleeve. The latter, it seemed dulled the colours.
The problem with the ones like paper is the very paperyness means that sticky fingermarks are even worse! So deffo not one for me.
I chose this armorite one, since once applied, no faffing about and a nice clear screen.
It is extremely easy to apply! It comes with a snug tray which you sit your ipad in. Having cleaned the screen thoroughly, you just unpeel (easy) and lay the screen protector over, run your finger down the line, wait a few seconds and the job is done. There were a couple of bubbles, but I just pressed these down and held for 10 seconds and they went away.
Whilst my fingermarks still appear, at least I can clean them off knowing I won’t be damaging the actual screen. Incidentally, the screen is very shiny – but the colours are not diminished in any way.
I can’t speak for the longevity of this screen protector. And I don’t know how the very edges of it will fare. but so far, so good.
The best assist of application for the cost, I have found. The protector feels premium, and well aligned. The protection and adhesion is excellent once done properly and looks like it isn’t even there (minimalistic).
I picked this screen protector kit up for my new iPad Pro 11″ M4 (2024).
It comes with an application frame, user manual, two screen protectors and two cleaning kits. Each cleaning kit contains an alcohol wipe, cleaning cloth and some dust removal stickers.
ESR have a tutorial online that walks you through the process. All you have to do is clean your iPad Pro with the wipe and cloth and then remove dust using the stickers. Then align the screen protector over the display and onto the frame peg.
I did get some bubbles during the process so had to lift the screen protector up slightly afterwards to remove them. I also managed to get two small dust marks under the screen protector (despite the display being dust free). Perhaps some dust landed after cleaning and shortly before applying the protector.
Still really happy with the results as the small dust marks aren’t that noticeable when the iPad is in use. Swiping and using a stylus still seems ok too (though I’m not an artist so not the right person to ask about that).
My main gripe with the kit is that only one alcohol wipe is provided in each kit. Alcohol wipes do tend to dry up quickly so I would have liked some spares in each kit in case additionally wiping was necessary.
Overall, happy with the purchase and can recommend it to others

The tempered glass film offers a solid layer of protection to your device against scratches and light impact. The easy application tray that comes with the screen protector is a big plus, it ensures a hassle-free, bubble-free installation which could be a bit tricky sometimes. This protector gives you HD clarity which does not interfere with touch sensitivity or display quality, making it seem like there’s nothing there at all! One downside is that it might accumulate fingerprints if not cleaned regularly, but overall, it’s excellent in maintaining the pristine condition of your iPad screen.
UPDATED REVIEW: Following my initial review I was quickly contacted by ESR who wanted to learn more about my experience given I have used other ESR products without issue. I have to say, their customer service is second to none and Lenka was super helpful and understanding. A replacement was sent to me and this resolved most of the issues experienced. The screen protector is of a high quality and no doubt will do the job. I’d give ESR 10/10 for customer service I only wish other companies were as good at responding to their customers and resolving issues. Well done ESR!
INITIAL REVIEW: I’ve used many screen protectors from various brands for years on iPhones, Apple Watches, and other iPads, and they’ve typically applied smoothly. However, this 2-pack ESR protector for the 2024 iPad Pro 13″ M4 fell short. Despite carefully following the instructions, significant air bubbles plagued the first application. This resulted in a wasted protector and frustration. While the second attempt had fewer bubbles, one corner stubbornly refused to adhere properly, leaving a visible air gap. The “easy application tray” was easy to set up, but the actual application process was far from it.
Adding to the disappointment, I noticed a hair (not one of mine) trapped between the screen protector and the removable film when I removed it just before installation, hinting at a possible quality control issue with this particular batch. I wondered if this may have been a previously returned product but the packaging looked like it had never been opened. I’ve been a satisfied ESR customer in the past, but this product unfortunately did not meet expectations. The protector does seem good quality and nice to the touch, but the application failure means I can’t score it any higher.

-Man erhlt im Set 2 Schutzglser. Sobald eins kaputt geht oder nicht mehr schn aussieht, kann man das zweite anbringen und muss nicht gleich ein neues Set erwerben.
-Das Produkt ist gut verpackt.
-Die Installation des Displayschutzes gelang sehr gut.
-Die Anleitung ist ausfhrlich und man erhlt ebenfalls einen QR-Code, welcher einen zu einem Installationsvideo weiterleitet.
-Man bekommt Reinigungs- und Installationswerkzeug im Set mitgeliefert.
-Das Glas hat sich blasenfrei an das iPad anbringen lassen.
-Das iPad wirkt gut geschtzt.
-Fingerabdrcke lassen sich mit einem Mikrofasertuch leicht abwischen.
Was muss ich an Kritik erwhnen: (siehe Nachtrag)
-Leider kamen die Displayglser bereits mit Beschdigungen an. Wie meinen Bildern entnommen werden kann, befinden sich bereits Kratzer auf den Glsern und unterhalb der Schutzfolie, welche die Glser vor dem Anbringungsprozess schtzen sollen, befinden sich Blasen. Es mssen entsprechend Staubpartikel oder Verunreinigungen im Produktionsprozess an das Glas gekommen sein. Scheinbar handelt es sich dabei jedoch nicht um einen Einzelfall, da auch andere Kunden/Kundinnen vom selben Problem berichten. Fr mich ist das leider ein groes Manko, denn wer das Display eines 900 teuren Gertes vernnftig schtzen mchte, erwartet dafr auch ein sauberes Produkt.
Nachtrag:
Wegen der Qualitt meines ersten Produktes wurde mir ein Ersatzartikel als Austausch zugesendet, welcher nun einwandfrei ist und keine Qualittsmngel aufweist. Mit dem Produkt bin ich sehr zufrieden und kann nun keine Kritik mehr uern. Daher gibt es nun von mir 5 von 5 Sternen.
I am a ESR purchaser, been using their products for all my devices regarding screen protectors, MagSafe car charger etc.
The screen protector was easy to install, hassle free, came with all the stuff you usually need: Microfibre cloth, alcohol wipe, template guide for application etc.
The screen protector is reflective, on the IPad Pro 13inch M4, you can definately notice the lighting and reflective difference, if this is an issue for you then don’t buy it.
I can also confirm this screen protector works great with the new Magic Keyboard, the person who answered my question in the FAQ was wrong and not useful in answering with experiance/ facts. It of course will leave an equal space from keyboard to iPad when closed due to the added screen protector, but this is normal and causes no issues!
The down side to my Screen Protector is the air pockets shown which is all in a line and is located on the top left camera area.
The air pockets have nothing to do with dust or dirt underneath, as they move up, down, side to side when pressed, it also disappears when held down to the iPad with more force, which indicates to me it could be a manufacturing issue on this specific one i have, could be a slight warp i guess? I have emailed ESR about it to let them know of a potential issue for others.
Overall a 4 out of 5 due to the high reflection and weird air bubbles on my screen protector.
I usually hate putting on glass screen protectors as they take forever to put on perfectly and they’ll always have a spec of dust or something underneath preventing them from sticking, and it’s almost impossible to align it properly. This one comes with an aligning bracket and is very easy to install. Some of the other brands like Spigen or Dbrand only give tiny microfibre cloths and wipes but this one came with much larger sized wipes and cloth.
This also works with the removable matte screen protector put on top of this.
I use ESR for all of my products. They have always provided top quality and great value for money. Have pre-bought this for my new iPad when it finally gets delivered and I know that the visibility is gonna be top notch. Easily applied and if it’s anything like my phone and previous iPad models screen protector it’ll be easily cleaned! Thanks ESR!
The process of installing this screen protector is the easiest one i have ever used.
The display still look crystal clear with it on and the responsiveness is still the same.
The application process was straightforward with no bubbles, a common issue with lesser quality protectors. The tray to apply the screen protector is very good, however the screen protector does not fit the iPad perfectly. The new 2024 iPads also have the camera on the long side and the glass is exposed on the camera part which makes your finger get caught when you gesture back to the home- screen. Would prefer if the screen protector also covers the camera area while making the camera functionality not any worse.
Edit: ESR contacted me about directly about my issue with the screen protector and asked if they could either send me a replacement or a full refund. Absolutely amazing customer service from ESR and their customer service specialist Odette. Very helpful and polite.
