ESR for iPad Pro 11 inch Case (2024), Powerful Magnetic
ESR for iPad Pro 11 inch Case (2024), Powerful Magnetic Attachment, Slim Trifold Stand Case, Supports Apple Pencil Pro and Pencil (USB-C), Auto Wake/Sleep, Durable Protection, Rebound Series, Black
Super fast delivery with Amazon prime. The case itself looks great and is nice and slim, which is exactly what I want in a case (not looking for chunky). I love the little magnet. I like how you can make a stand out of it. It’s since gathered a bit of dust (as you can see in my video), but it was obviously nice and clean when it arrived. Fantastic quality at a great price – something that’s rare nowadays!
This is the best case I’ve ever had for an iPad. It is a perfect fit and folds to really useful angles for viewing and working. It holds and charges my Apple Pencil perfectly. It also looks great.
It’s a shame because it’s a great brand and I’ve purchased other products before from them. But this one has to be a no from me for only one reason. The angle at which the iPad stands with the case folded back is too straight, it differs a lot from the Apple-branded one

Update: ESR got in touch offering a resolution and were very helpful to offer alternative ways that could address this problem. 10/10 customer service, so I increased this rating to 4/5 stars in general, with the outstanding angle of this case to be the last thing that they should look at with this product for it to be 5/5.
This seems to be a good quality cover (I’ve only had it a month or so), sturdy and with good magnetic connection. The pencil flap cover works quite well, with or without an Apple Pencil attached to the edge of the iPad (and magnetically “sticks” to the back when folded over). My two quibbles with the cover are small: one is that the angle when the iPad is propped up for viewing is pretty steep–nearly vertical!–and the other is that the hinged side of the cover is just a bit too big for the iPad, so that the top cover isn’t fully flush with the iPad’s glass surface near the hinge (I wonder if ESR didn’t realize just how thin the new iPad would be; perhaps they will revise their production to account for this now that the dimensions are officially known). But these are very small points, and shouldn’t stand in the way of anyone who thinks they might want to get this. It does the job well and is certainly worth the price.
Bought the blue cover for my 2024 iPad Pro 11 M4. Brilliant case. It’s sturdy & protects the iPad very well. The magnets keeps the iPad stuck to the case. Nice to the touch. The blue colour is beautiful.
HOWEVER:
1. The cover does not enable the sleep/wake on the iPad.
2. The magnetic flap is VERY strong & hard to open without damaging it or the cover. In time I foresee the edges of the flap bending & the cover scratching as I use my finger nails to pry open the cover. ESR needs to attach some sort of tag to the flap to pull on in order to make it easier to detach it from the magnetic cover.
Overall beautiful case that protects the iPad very well. Highly recommend it (even with the 2 problems mentioned above).
I was looking for another cover but that brand wasn’t available so I have to buy this I had no idea how it would be but after trying it I was amazed the quality is so good the material is so smooth the magnets are tight and intact, loving it on my iPad Pro M4 11″ slim, sleek and smart!
Just noticed after weeks that Sleep and Wake option is not working I heard ESR is aware and they said new version is coming soon, dunno how to return it and get the new version!
Fits perfectly with the new 13″ iPad Pro. Doesn’t fit like a normal case but instead magnetises to the case just like apples own keyboard for iPad. Material feels really soft and the magnets work brilliantly. You can use the clasp on either side so fold it back when on the iPad and fold it shut when you’ve switched it off. Overall a fantastic case for the price and the black version goes really well with the space black iPad.
Disappointed with quality this time from ESR. Case doesn’t perfectly fit to the size of 11″ ipad, looks to be 2-3mm bigger on each side. Not sure if that’s supposed to be a feature? With such a thin tablet when you want to change volume you are pushing this sticking out case everytime. Not pleasant experience.
The biggest issue is it doesn’t switch off or turn back on ipad. Had this functionality for years, wasn’t aware I need to check for current cases if they actually do that. I guess it’s not standard.
Neutral design function is that while standing ipad is a bit more vertical, rather than laid back in comparison to my previous case for 2018 ipad pro.
I would not recommend and would definitely not buy it. I gave 2 stars as it does protect ipad and magnets are stronger than on the previous case.
————update———
Added 2 stars for great customer service. Case will be fixed soon and I will buy Esr products in the future.
The case fits the new iPad Pro 13 (M4) fine, but if you use a pencil, the flap that keeps the pencil in place is not aligned with the pencil. This means that there is always a bit of pencil sticking out from one side of the flap regardless of which orientation you attach the pencil.
If you don’t use a pencil then this case is great, if you do use a pencil then I can’t recommend this case. I will be returning mine.
UPDATE: Moving review fro 3/5 -> 4/5.
ESR got in touch about the issue I was having and confirmed that at least some cases have the alignment issue I observed. They are working on a fix for this.
I would like to reiterate that apart from this minor alignment issue, the case is excellent with great materials, a great fit and strong magnets. For the price this is a steal. If you don’t use a Pencil Pro and/or aren’t bothered by the alignment issue (I’ve added a picture of this so you can make up your own mind) I can recommend this case.
Furthermore ESR’s support has been excellent. I’ve bought numerous ESR products over the years (over 10 from Amazon alone!) and never had issues with them, but in this case when I did need help from support they’ve been exemplary. I will continue to purchase ESR products in the future.
This case has some very slights faults in my eyes, the case uses the iPad’s magnets to attach which can lead to less drop protection especially around the sides of the device. The apple pencil has been held well in place when not in use and although the stand is not adjustable in angle it does seem to be very useful for most viewing angles.
An amazing accessory for the iPad Pro! Along with the magic keyboard by Apple, this case provide the need of relaxing and watching movies or tv shows without the hassle of a keyboard taking up the lap space. The magnetic attachment is a genius design and holds my iPad really well and easily switch between my keyboard and this case. I would strongly recommend this case if you are looking for something lightweight and compact, and want an alternative to the iPad Pro magic keyboard when you don’t need the key pads. A little disappointed with the delivery process where my item was not securely packaged, hence the damaged packaging of the case. Wish that it came in some sort of cardboard box to secure the packaging and the product for privacy and safety purposes.
Recently upgraded to an iPad Pro 12.9″ and I added the Apple Pencil and folio case to my basket which added 250 to the 1000 iPad which is a large % of the purchase price for accessories. From past experience I had to but the Apple Pencil, others are just not as good but I went shopping for a folio case. I have bought the paper like screen protector from this manufacturer in the past and it was high quality so I chose this case in light grey. Its brilliant for the 20 it cost, the Apple version has a nice suede material on the inside of the cover but that is the only difference I can see.
Gotta admit the case is lovely, seems good quality and fits very nicely! The Apple Pencil is secured with the clasp nicely. Only criticism is it don’t protect the edges of your iPad much so have to be careful with it! Definitely wouldn’t wanna drop the iPad as I don’t think this case would do anything at all to protect it!
Difficult, time-consuming choice with such a large value item and so many other options, but I’ve used ESR brand before without issues. I find them good value and they offer full protection. My 12 year old son was lucky enough to receive the iPad Pro for Christmas and this item was subsequently purchased to save me from constant worry as he’s not the most conscientious! He uses his iPad for games and digital painting at home. The second generation Apple Pencil magnet attaches to the side which saves him losing it down the sofa. The case arrived within a day and the seller emailed to advise I can contact them if it’s the wrong size or if I find any issues at all they would be solved, which was actually a nice touch. No need to as I’m completely happy with the case and I’m glad we chose this one.
Another case I had that was similar (but with a plastic back which the iPad corners clipped into) had broke near the camera, so I thought I’d give this one a go after finding ESR had good customer service on another product of theirs… not disappointed! 🙂
It’s quite lightweight, which is what I’m after. Sure, if you drop it it’s not gonna have any corner/edge protection, so if that’s what you want this isn’t the case for you. But, it fits well and protects the screen and back fine. Fine for sticking in and out of bags or just carrying about the house and giving that extra bit of needed base-level protection.
It also has a flap to keep my pencil in place which saves worrying if carrying it about outside where brushing it wrong could make my 100 Apple Pencil disappear down a drain. The magnets hold the flap nicely in place with the pencil, or if leaving the pencil behind also magnetises down nicely without a big gap. Neat. Also when using stood up the magnets can hold the pencil flap on to the rear of the case so it doesn’t randomly flap over into the way of the screen.
The other thing I like is that the iPad magnetises into the case, rather than clip in. It seems pretty solid so I haven’t had any worries, but it also means it pops out pretty easily. I wanted the big 12.9″ iPad for good reason but it can be quite heavy to hold while reading. Even a light case adds some more weight to an already weighty iPad, so it means I can easily just pop the case off to read for a bit, then just pop it back on as soon as I’m done or want to use it lying on a table.
The case is only slightly thicker than the camera bump. So it’s fine for putting flat on a table and drawing with. I’d be careful of putting it down on a very gritty surface and doing extreme pressure drawing though as maybe you could scratch your camera lenses if you tried hard enough! Getting a straight edge there’s <1mm depth from camera lens to case back. So this seems fine to me as I want a light thin case, but something to be aware of if you're the kinda person wants a big thick beefy case (or get a camera lens protector).
So, in summary:
* Lightweight
* Easily removable
* Fit's well - doesn't seem cheap/rough/unfinished or shoddy in any way
* Nice material/finish - smooth leathery plastic outside, slightly fuzzy microfibre inside (that doesn't smell funny and isn't particularly finger-print-attracting - yep I read those reviews before I got mine, but know ESR customer service is pretty good, so went for it anyway)
* Sits flat for drawing, or raised at a slight angle, or near upright - the 3 positions I want.
So overall highly recommended for my use case. Seems as good as the 50 Apple one, but with the added benefit of back protection that means it sits flat on a table to draw with, and also has a pencil flap. Seems a no-brainer. However, if you want some hardcore thick thing for the peace of mind that you can repeatedly drop it on your kitchen floor or throw your iPad in the passenger footwell of your truck, probably not the one for you.
This is a nice cover for the 12″ iPad. So far it seems just as good as the cover from Apple, but at a fraction of the price. I can’t speak to durability, as I’ve only had it a couple of weeks, but it looks like it’s going to last.
The magnetic flap that holds the pencil in place is a nice touch – I was forever losing the pencil from my previous iPad as it’s fairly easy to knock off the it’s in a messenger bag. No such problems with this cover.
I can’t imagine how an “official” Apple-made case could be better than this wallet-friendly option? iPad Pro 12.9″ slips in effortlessly to this housing, and is solidly magnetically held in place. The camera unit on back is protected by cover with a small recess, quite beautifully engineered really.
Sides of iPad are free, so buttons and speakers are perfectly available as designed.
But rather wonderfully, when you close the case and have Apple Pencil in its side charging position, the flap on the cover wraps round it – this is great design by the case manufacturer. You don’t need the pencil there to use case perfectly, but if you have one it wouldn’t be knocked from its charging position as it might if just rolling around in a bag without case or walking with it. With the case closed and flap enclosing pencil, I have no worries about pencil being dislodged.
Should you need to, the iPad Pro can easily be removed from case and placed back again just as easily.
Fabulous tailor-made case, looks integral to the device. Props up easily for reading horizontally on a table. With pencil protection you can carry your expensive kit with confidence
This case is good value compared to competitors. It’s lightweight and fits perfectly. It offers no drop protection, but I like it because it’s so easy to switch between this and the Magic Keyboard.
My only criticism is that the pencil wrap over bit doesn’t magnetically fold back on the case like my 11 inch version of this case, which is annoying as it just flaps about and gets in the way.
The other weird thing is the slit in the pencil flap, why is there a slit? Am I missing something? My 11 inch case does not have this slit and it visually annoys me!
I returned this case, only because I ordered a few from ESR and decided to keep the one that had a hard shell back thus giving protection for the sides of the iPad instead, for practical reasons. But this one is an exact copy (apart from the flap for the Apple Pencil) of the Apple Smart Folio that retails for nearly 100. It smelled awful out of the box, but for a fraction of the price and if I didn’t mind about not having the sides of my iPad protected, it wouldn’t really matter.
