    This is a good spare.
Good solid built with decent grip.
Been through a couple of rainy weeks and hot sun, works well with BMW 330e.
Durable and flexible, fit well from point to point.
Decent length of 8m and easy goes through a whole parking space.
Cap on type 2 end to protect, and a nice zipper storage case with handle.
Easily roll up and store away.
Handy to be able to control timer, amp and monitoring via app – wifi or BT.
However, some newer car might have this built in, but its good to see both.
Reasonable at under 140 and in line with similar products.

App. Wouldn’t load first time but didn’t need to use immediately so left for a few days then retried and bingo all loaded okay and equipment function is now just as advertised.

This is a Chinese product that is asking for to much information it simply does not need to know. If you don’t answer the questions, then you do not get access to all the facilities, such as monitoring the charging. I chose not to answer the questions and therefore just plug it in and charge the car.

This EV charger offers flexibility and convenience for my home charging setup. With adjustable current settings, I can tailor the charging speed to my needs, whether I’m in a hurry or want to maximize energy efficiency. The app connectivity is a nice bonus, allowing me to schedule charging, monitor progress, and track my energy usage history. While it may not be the fastest charger on the market, it’s reliable and user-friendly.

This charger was the sweet spot for features and price. I really didn’t need anything too fancy, but this does have an app that goes with it. Most EVs have their own app anyway to track charge rates, but it was nice that this charger came with the feature itself. No need to install. Easy to use. Great purchase!

This is a compact and flexible solution to access to EV charging.
The unit is supplied in a sturdy carry case that can be easily stored at home or carried in the car.
Full instructions are included, and it is a very simple plug and play process.
In addition, there are many controls available via the included app.
We have occasional overnight family visitors with EV’s and this unit allows charging on our drive without the expense of fitting a permanent charging point to our property.
We are considering the EV option in the future and this unit certainly reduces our concerns about range and access to a charging point when visiting friends.
I am very impressed with this item and will update this review after we have had the opportunity to assess its charging performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars EV Charge

The charger seems sturdy enough and has UK approval markings. The type 2 charging connector is fine for the vast majority of EVs, as it is the standard connector in the UK/ Europe. The cable on this model is 15 metres which give alot of flexibility, though there are cheaper models with shorter cables.

The basic functionality is great. This plugs into a standard UK electrical socket and charges up to 13A/ 240v, so 3.3KW of power. That is the maximum a UK plug socket can deliver. If you want to charge at a lower power, you can use the easycharge app to dial down the amps in steps from 13A to 6A. There is a setting in the app to start charging as soon as the charger is plugged in, or you can start it manually on the app using Bluetooth. You are also supposed to be able to set a schedule on the app for a delayed charge. There isn’t an option for a one off timed charge and you have to set it weekly, though you can disable or delete it after that. However, I couldn’t use the scheduled charging, because after the initial setup, the charger disconnected from the internet and wouldn’t reconnect. It was still fine to use over Bluetooth, but limited the ‘smart’ features that required wifi.

All in all, this is fine as a mains EV charger. If you don’t need the expense of a dedicated 7kw charger or if you are at someone else’s house or at a work place where there is no EV charger, this is a really good solution, and the long cable will help reach the car from their electrical plug.

This EV charger makes keeping my car powered up incredibly convenient! I love being able to adjust the charging speed and set delayed timers right from my phone. The app also shows charging status and history, giving me a clear picture of my charging patterns. It feels incredibly sturdy, and the IP65 waterproof rating means I can charge confidently, rain or shine.

Having used a couple of home (3-PIN granny) chargers and them subsequently breaking / not functioning correctly, this so far by far feels the most sturdy and solid one.

Has a nice clean / sleek look to the charger and once connected to the app, which was an easy process, is full of features!

Had one issue initially, the advert stated you could change the amps via the app if you wanted to load limit what the charger was pulling. However this was not functioning correctly. When I reached out to support they responded quickly and confirmed it was an app version issue. They updated their app (a couple of times over the last couple of weeks) which shows they are keen on development and continuing support. All is now working great including scheduling, amp changes to name a couple.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy company Niro PHEV was not expected till Feb 24 so when it arrived just days before Christmas I had no home charger installed. I purchased this 3 pin charger as a stop gap but now that I’ve used it a few times Im not sure I will bother with a 7kw wall charger.

The charger arrived the day after I ordered it and was well packaged. I was very impressed with the qwality of the product which looks of very high quality and comes with a carry bag for storage.

The dedicated app CANT be downloaded from Google or iPhone directly and you need to allow app installs from other sources on your phone and scanning the QR code installs the app.

Some of the app terminology is a little counter intuitive when you first use it. For example it refers to a scheduled charge as a booking.

You can setup your tariff charges for peak and off peak. I switched to a British Gas Electric vehicle tariff as I was already with them and it was easy to do. I specified both rates in the app as this then delivers cost of individual charges.

The setup of the app walks you through binding the app to the charger and WiFi and Bluetooth configurations as you can use either, a bonus if you intend to use the charger where you have no WiFi connection. Bluetooth can be disabled in the app but you are given an alert that this is the case when you next start the app.

The first time I used the charger I set it to charge immediately to make sure it worked, with no problems.

One good thing is that you can choose the ampage output on the app but I couldn’t find any way to do this until after the charge had started when you get an option to modify output. Maybe I’m missing something and have queried this through the app support.

When selecting the output ampage this has a scale from 6A,to 16A and allows you to use the higher setting even though the fuse on the plug is rated at 13A the limit in UK.
Maybe this is for other countries? Having used it on 16A which it seemed to default to on first use and before I realised I could alter the output while it was charging it didn’t blow the fuse or trip my fuse box and I suspect it’s throlled back to 23A.

It’s very useful you can adjust the output to avoid a possible overload on your ring main, particularly if using during the day when you may be using your kettle or washing machine that draw alot of current.

The first time I sceduled a night charge it didn’t work. Maybe I made a mistake playing with the app too much after I’d set it. When I tried a second time it started charging earlier than I thought I’d set but again it was possibly user error. To make sure I tried again and sat up till the set time 00.01 to ensure it started charging before going to bed.

I’ve not had any trouble since and it’s worked as it should since, showing the ongoung charge data. There is a history section in the app that allows you to review this split in to day, week, month and year.

Once a scheduled time is set it pops up to confirm this but thereafter I could not find a screen to verify the scheduled time to double check this. You can cancel a scheduled charge before it starts or stop it while charging.

When checking the app status it can take a short time to update itself, possibly because I it was using Bluetooth and I was not very close to the charger. If you are only using this at home you may as well just use your WiFi connection.

It’s not made clear if the app only communicates the scheduled charge times immediately it’s set or only at the time it’s set for, so don’t know what would happen if you switched off your phone or it was disconnected from your WiFi at the time of the scheduled charge. As I only intend to use this at home and always have my phone on its not an issue for me.

The app could be a bit slicker and intuitive to use and it does take a bit of learning to understand all it’s features and I had to reread the manual that is accessible on the app and is somewhat confusing at first read. I also went and watched the short video and looked at the description on Amazon to be sure I was using it correctly.

Flicking between ampage output settings while on a charge is very useful and it then shows you in the live monitor how many Kwh it’s using based on that output.

As my fusebox is quite old with no RCD cutout I purchased an RCD plug from Amazon that plugs straight into the wall outlet for added protection.

Overall and having spend a few days using the product I’m very happy with it. The quality of the charger, lead and socket appears excellent giving me confidence. It’s not got hot at all during use.

Given the charger can fully charge my 11kw battery in the 5 hour cheap rate slot, I really have no need for a wall charger and may have saved myself 1000 plus to have one fitted.

I’d have given this product 5 STARS if the app was a little easier to use. FYI you cannot set a charge without the app.

I hope you find this information useful.
