I used the stand on my new PS5 Slim Disc Edition. The stand could also be used with a digital edition, since it comes with a piece of foam that adapts the shape of the left stand piece. It didn’t actually add a lot of height to the PS5; the left side is just up another centimeter or two. However, the stand adds stability and a bit of noise reduction on my shelf. It feels much more secure as a whole. That said, you just slide the two halves of the stand on and there isn’t anything holding them on except the pressure of the materials.

The white plastic is not an exact match to the PS5. The PS5’s white is a bit cooler and more blue while this stand is warmer and more yellow. Unfortunately, that make the stand look cheaper and aged compared to the PS5.

The fans seem to work just fine. They have three settings: lo, medium, and high, as well as off. They will remember the last setting that was used and turn back on with your console. However, they stay on while the PS5 is providing power to its USB ports. So if your ports are always on or stay on for three hours after going into Rest Mode, then the fans will stay on. The fans seem to blow out, pulling out warm air, as opposed to blowing in cool air. So, it shouldn’t be bad to leave them on as far as dust goes. But, staying on unnecessarily will eventually wear out their motors. That makes manually turning them off the best option unless you always Turn Off your PS5 or don’t have the USB Ports set to be on after entering Rest Mode.

Speaking of turning the console off, you will need to unplug it to get the fans on, so make sure it isn’t just set to rest mode. Slotting them in was easy and didn’t feel like it was stressing the plastic or the USB port it plugged into.

So my nitpicks are:
1) The plastic doesn’t quite match between the stand and the console.
2) The stand feels well put on but doesn’t snap or clip in anywhere and could possibly loosen from vibrations due to operating the console.
3) Turning off the fans can possibly be a pain.

What I like about it:
1) The stand raises the PS5 slightly allowing better airflow.
2) The fans seem to blow air out instead of in, so dust buildup shouldn’t be as bad as if they were blowing in.
3) The fans fit securely and don’t get in the way of the plugs and ports.
4) The added USB ports on the right half of the stand are useful for using and charging accessories.
5) The stand makes the console feel more stable and reduces the noise output, especially from the disc drive vibrating against my furniture.

For what it is, the positives highly outweigh the negatives. I don’t think the fans will save your PS5 from overheating in an overly cramped space. But the package as a whole should help with your console’s functionality.
