I brought these for my rear garden to add a light up the path to the rear gate, they took no longer that 20mins to install and only 5mins to add to the app, having the schedule tool means I don’t need to touch it ever.
Don’t normally do reviews but this warrants one!
Amazing bit of kit for the price, very good quality compared to others like it. Easily linked with Alexa and has a massive massive amount of pre set lighting patterns, or set it to music from outside or direct from your phone. If has a DIY section to create your own light patterns and a section to share with others around the world and you can use theirs. It’s endless. Very bright too, lights up a big area on my patio. Going to buy another for the front garden handrail.
So this should definitely be 5*, but lets itself down by penny pinching with a few screws. The clips that hold the lights up (and take the strain from the adhesive) work well, but the screws they provide have been made out of a strange silver marzipan like substance. As soon as ANY torque is put into them even with a hand screwdriver, they collapse quicker than a premier league footballer close to the penalty area. I don’t think I have ever encountered screws made out of such soft metal. So if you are going to buy these, please don’t frustrate yourself using the provided screws – use your own.
Seriously, buy your own. I struggled with the first lot and decided I would try their screws on the second as the first batch must have been a manufacturing error. But no. The second batch were useless as well.
Come on Govee – the lights are awesome but please spend an extra few pennies on some screws that you can actually screw!
I have laid them on the floor around my garden so far, as uplighter, and they do a fine job, giving out plenty of light to light up trees and plants. Obviously that’s not best use but I wanted to test them and that was my test.
So very bright, number of Govee scenes is immense, meaning you can readily give yourself epilepsy if you want, and will have no hesitation in buying these again.
Only quibble is I genuinely think these are probably made for about a fiver wholesale, and paying the cost without a promotion is very high, for all that you’ll have no problems with them.
These are my 2nd pair of lights, having been so impressed with the first order.
Unfortunately, the control unit was received in a scratched/damaged condition, however the customer service team quickly arranged a replacement product which was promptly received. Customer service is outstanding and they are to be congratulated for this.
I am very happy with the product, it’s features and the overall quality. The Govee app is also great and the ability to add Govee products to Amazon Alexa is very useful indeed.
Having always used Hue products I wanted something 10m long which they didn’t do so after much research I settled on these. To say I was amazed by the quality is an understatement from fitting to app to smart integration everything was simple. As good as hue in build quality in my opinion will buy more Govee products in future
They’re quite easy to put up. For majority of it, I used the supplied clips and attached them to the wall using a glue gun. Area of the wall that were too moist I used the supplied fixings and they worked well. Using the supplied kit ensures a really secure fit, and makes it look very neat.
The lights are incredible resilient and weather resistant. They’re entirely encased in silicone. These will last me absolutely years and I feel a worthwhile investment.
I love the amount of power cordage it comes with, it makes it a lot easier to place these as the length enables good distance between the lights and power source.
The functions are incredible. There’s so many to choose from. When I have the tip of my house with these next year I’ll be a lot more adventurous. But this year I need them to match the gutter lamps, I created this pattern using the DIY mode and I think it looks super pretty.
The app is very simple to use. Very easy to set up the lights to the app. The app is intuitive to navigate and operate. These can be set up with a timer. Also when powered off and on at the wall, they retain the last mode.
The Govee Lights were super simple to install and the app makes using them so easy.
They will be staying up all year as there are so many programs to use.

Purchased led strips previously but none to the quality of this unit.
There are multiple options, so many to choose from.
Easy to fit, i fitted mine under my eves, you do need to use the clips supplied to attach the strip to as the adhesive alone is not enough to keep them in place.
The strip is quite heavy compared to cheap units as it is waterproof.
Plenty of clips supplied to cover the strip every metre or so and some left over.

Spent an hour and a half putting this up outside only to find when I plugged it in that most of the lights don’t work and the ones that do flicker on and off feebly. So annoyed that they don’t work and also that I didn’t check before putting them up! Lesson learned.
Edit to add that after getting in touch with Govee they sent out replacement lights with no fuss, they were very helpful and polite. New lights work great and I’m really pleased with them.

I’ve got 2 sets of 10m lights on my garden gazebo. You can contact both sets 2 come on together with the govee app when downloaded free.
WiFi and Bluetooth connection with ease. Multiple colours party mode and static colours music sync
Great all round lights
Scan the QR code or download the app that it says. Connect one to the power and set it up through your phone on the app, (there’s a plus sign on the app at the very top right) it required your Bluetooth and wifi. Press the white box button that is attached to the LEDs and make sure you have your Bluetooth on and once it connects label it as “LEDs 1” or something like that then unplug them.
Then connect your second LEDs to your power and press the white button connected to the LEDs and then through the app press the add button (again the sign in the top right) and label them as “LEDs 2” or something like that and go ahead and unplug them.
Then it’s fully operational through your phone and go ahead and just stick them where you want them. Unfortunately with these you can’t cut them so any over lap or anything like that try and hide behind your bed or something.
g mains power within easy reach is essential. Once it’s linked to your WiFi setup via your smartphone it is very easy to control with voice commands. The app interface is easy to follow and provides a wide range of colour choices.
Downside is only related to price, a bit expensive compared to some other suppliers. Despite that it is an excellent product.
I put these under the new soffits, cleaned using the provided alcohol wipes and secured using the screws and clips supplied. The position should be relatively dry / protected and I hope these will last a long time.
The variety of colours, effects and pre-canned movements will provide more than enough options for us and I’m looking forward to seeing them used for halloween / christmas.
Very easy to set up. Much cheaper than Philips Hue. I have 2 sets of the 10m LED strips but only gripe is not knowing how to combine them both to operate off the app.
