Exceeded my expectations. This backpack is perfect for both women and men, offering ample space for all our essentials. It’s foldable and waterproof, making it incredibly convenient for various activities like hiking, walking, camping, and even school or work. The lightweight design ensured that it was easy to carry around all day. The durability and versatility of this backpack make it a must-have for any outdoor adventure. Highly recommended!
I was looking to replace my Wenger (Swiss army knife) rucksack which has served faithfully for 17 years, before beginning to come apart at the seams. I don’t think this is it, but it is a superb stop-gap measure.
Initial impressions were that it was very lightweight and even flimsy. On closer inspection, I think it is much more robust than I thought. The straps are much thinner than my old one, so I don’t know how comfortable it would be for hikes. But I’m usually looking for something to throw a few items into for a short break, or to travel to a conference—so one change of clothes and some toiletries. This is perfectly adequate for that.
It has a decent number of pockets—not the insane amount that some travel bags seem to have such that you can never find the item you put in the bag, it’s always behind a different zip! But not with this one. Sanity prevailed. I do especially appreciate the wet pocket—I’m a swimmer, and the idea of being able to throw a wet towel or trunks in the bag and not soak everything else is superb.
The size seems to be a little larger than my current rucksack, but I’ve just checked the figures and the math says it’s only 36.7L not 40. A word of warning, the height is greater than the allowed height of some current budget airlines—51cm, rather than 45cm. So don’t overfill it.
I was going to say that I wasn’t sure why the whistle on the strap needed to be bright orange—but because it was bright orange I noticed it, and then noticed an identical black one on my swim tow-float which I had never noticed. The irony was that I had attached another emergency whistle to my towfloat because I hadn’t seen the incorporated black one. SO, ok, I get why it’s bright orange!
In addition to all that, this comes folded up in a tiny bag, which in theory I could fold it back into.
Made of durable materials, the lightweight rucksack has a decent capacity and is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, travelling, and picnicking. It is amazing to see in the delivery package that the bag was folded and packed into one of its own pockets. Similar to a typical rucksack, the bag contains two compartments. In each compartment, there are separate pockets. There is one mesh pocket on each side of the bag as well. On the back of the bag, there is one pocket designed for keeping wet stuff such as towels, underwear, and socks. I found that this feature is particularly useful. All zippers work well. The padded shoulder straps are strong and comfortable to use. In my opinion, the strong bag has a good capacity and functions well. For 21.99, it has great value for money.
This little rucksack is a great item for the price of 21.98.
I had the black one (boring, I know) but wanted something that would go with whichever coat/ jacket I happen to be wearing.
It’s a 40L capacity, so perfect for a 2-4 hr length of walk with the dog, you can get your packed lunch and flask in, plus have room to stow your outer layer if you get hot.
It’s very lightweight material, but doesn’t feel flimsy, and it has a great selection of pockets, inner sections and an outer cargo net.
It has a chest strap, which you can adjust vertically to allow for boobs, but no hip strap, which is SUCH a shame and is why I took off a star.
The hip strap is the most important one for preventing fatigue and achey shoulders, and is why I would only use it as a very lightweight day sack for a not too far walk.
Personally, I would prefer to pay a bit more and have the hip strap to make this a working, hiking rucksack, BUT, if all you need is to carry your sarnies, or maybe for commuting on the trains – that kind of thing – this one will do the job and it’s great value for money.
I’ve never seen a rucksack come packaged like this – folded into it’s own little compact carry pocket, it took a little while to gently extract it, so I doubt very much I’ll ever g7et it back packaged like that, but it’s a decent little rucksack!
Things I like: I love the bright orange colour. It’s a decent enough size for day hikes (it’s stated as being 40L).
There are a good selection of storage options with the main compartment, front pocket, two side mesh pockets and this weird ‘wet pocket’ accessible from a zippered opening on the back. I’ve never seen a bag with a ‘wet pocket’ before, but I love the idea! There’s nothing worse than needing to stash wet clothes when everything in your bag is dry and clean, so this eliminates that problem, by having a designated area to store wet or dirty gear.
The pack comes with a sternum strap and integrated emergency whistle. It has side compression straps. The material feels nice and waterproof.
Things I don’t like: There is no hip belt.
For 21.99 I don’t think it’s a bad buy, but it’s more of a travel pack that you’d use when you were away, than a pack you would take travelling, if that makes sense?
When this arrived it is compacted so small I thought it was a bag cover, then once I unpacked it it turned into quite a large backpack, very light indeed, but the straps have little padding so you would not be able to put a log of items into this bag without it sagging or digging into your shoulders hence the 4 stars. There are a lot of compartments inside the bag, so you can keep items separate if needed. It does have a small whistle built into the strap buckle for an emergency if needed but you should always carry one when on any trip anyway.
I doubt that you would be able to find a back pack that is lighter than this one. But that doesn’t mean that this one is flimsy. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The material seems to be very strong. The stitching is excellent and there are lots of separate pockets. All the zips are free flowing in both directions.
I have total respect for the people who work in the factory, especially the person/persons who fold up the finished article and place it in the pouch. I knew, as soon as I managed to take it out of that pouch, that there was no way that I would be able to get it folded in the same way so as to get it back in there and get the zip done up again. So, if you CAN get yours back in there…………………………………………………………………….. You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din !!!!!
The multiple compartments and pockets are practical for keeping items organized, and the foldable design is convenient . It’s comfortable thanks to the padded shoulder straps and back panel. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of more specialized hiking backpacks, it provides sufficient comfort for my daily commute. In terms of style, the backpack comes with neutral design.
