I have been using another LED Lenser headtorch for over 5 years,and has served me well.
This new one,recently purchased, is a fantastic bit of kit,solid build quality and a host of great features
The multi mode feature button is a bit confusing a first.
But after a short while you soon get used to it.The brightness of this headtorch is great too,inc a boost feature
You will need a USB-C adaptor or a charge plug of the same type, USB-C .These are not included with the headtorch
Charging the headtorch is very easy since it uses a magnetic charge system
Wearing the headtorch is very comfortable,the additional head strap is a nice touch,although attaching the head strap is a bit fiddly.
Overall an excellent purchase, plus the added bonus of a 7 year warranty for peace of mind
I am very specific when it comes to headlights. I need the best possible balance between light-output and runtime. Coming from a H19R Signature previously, and coupling the HF8R Work with my Fenix HP30Rv2, this is a fantastic, colour-accurate and comfortable light for caving, outdoor exploring, and generally any use where a headlight is necessary.
I have had no issues on 6+hr caving trips, the HF8R offers a consistent light output for long periods of time with no noticeable dimming, and for me it makes the perfect distance-companion to the stronger floodlighting of the Fenix. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product to anyone with a need for a lightweight headlight.
The auto-sensing function is brilliant, with a super-fast polling rate, so you’re not dazzling anyone when looking at them, and it’s not dazzling you when you look at something reflective like a map.
After buying a small snap on torch which was badged as ledlenser I decided to buy a decent head torch and this fitted the bill . I tried in gooutdoors and was impressed with it . So bought through Amazon as it’s 15 cheaper . I have used it as part of my job and hasn’t gone flat yet where it’s been on for around 3 hrs . 7 year warranty is great (if I can keep it that long without losing it )
I like the this torch, I have used it for trail running and it is light, the headband does not make my head hurt and it lights up the trails really well. On the downside the button is really complicated, it has numerous presses for different functions e.g. holding down the button gives you a weird ultra bright mode for 10 seconds and then sometimes pressing the button gives you a red light. You have to remember to press the main button twice for less than 3 seconds. I think the button should simply be power on.
I was very pleased to receive this headtorch, It came well packaged and presented. First impressions were very good, All parts of the torch seem good quality and well made. The torch works really well, There is 2 lights for short and long rang illumination, Both work really well. The head strap is very comfortable and I really like the magnetic charger. It works really well, Is very goof quality and I’m very happy with it. Recommended to others.
I’m a sucker for a good headtorch, and have tried a bunch over the years from Petzl/Black Diamond etc. This is the first LED Lenser one I’ve tried, and I’m impressed. It’s very bright at 800 lumens, it’s impressively solid in construction and the straps are really comfortable.
If I had one complaint it’s that it’s bigger than some of my other headtorches, but it’s still pretty good. The other slight niggle is the proprietary charging cable – just make it USB like most others! I don’t want to lose the cable and end up shelling out for a replacement.
Worth the price ten times over! This headtorch is some bit of kit! Comes with several accessories for mounting options. The light itself is very well made! On boost mode which lasts for roughly 10seconds lights even the darkest of places up like it’s daylight! I love the auto focus mode and the app connectivity is a nice touch too! The charger provided however is a magnetic to torch and USB-C so unless you have the facility to charge via usbc you’ll need to get a plug suitable
Bought as a second head lamp as a ‘backup’ to the H7R Signature but has found it’s place as a work-horse around the home and for the wife for dog walks. Does what it says but not sure of the utility of the green and blue lights whilst the red is useful at dusk to preserve ‘night vision’.
This arrived in a colourful and branded display box. On the sides it has images of the head torch along with specification details and features. Once opened you get an instruction leaflet, USB-C to magnetic charging lead, the main head torch, a silicone comfort pad, and connecting system adapter. Everything is well packed and presented.
First impressions: all the straps and fixings look and feel very high quality, and the adjustment is easy and smooth. The main unit with the strap has a combined weight of 130g with the torch section being adjustable, which is easy to move but also stays well in the set position. The instruction manual is a folded double sided sheet, and in my opinion could use improvement as most of the instructions are visual, and lacking written clearer usage instructions. The charging lead has a magnetic end which works perfectly, but goes to a USB-C connection rather than the more common USB type A.
After charging the torch I gave it a good try out. The different light functions do take a while to familiarise yourself with, and I did have to keep referring back to the manual for a while. The control for the lights is a single rubber covered button on the top, and different modes are activated via multiple button presses, and holding the button. The digital focus wheel is on the bottom of the torch and works really well for fine adjustment.
The brightness is exceptional, and I found it extremely bright at full power, illuminating large areas clearly, and also being adjustable via the digital focus wheel. I found this very comfortable to wear once adjusted, and you hardly notice you are wearing it.
Overall in my opinion this is a very well made high powered and multi function head torch. It is comfortable to wear, and has easy to adjust straps. My only slight niggles are the charging lead going to a USB-C port, and the instructions could be better, but apart from that I think it’s great.
