The kit contains 221 pieces including 4 figures, that all together makes a great small kit for 8+ child to build and play with afterwards.
On opening the box you will find all the pieces numbered bags along with a set of clear and simple to follow instructions.
The kit really does not take too long to build limiting the chance of any little ones getting bored halfway through building it.
All the attention to detail in Lego format you would expect is there.
Though aimed at young LEGO Builders, any Star Wars fans will appreciate this set, in particular fans of The Mandalorian. This set recreates an iconic rescue scene from Season 3 of the show, where the voice actor for the Prequel Character Jar Jar Binks, Ahmed Best, makes a guest appearance as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, who helps rescue the Youngling Grogu from the Jedi Temple right after Order 66 is called.
As a LEGO set this is small but expensive, young LEGO builders will have no issue in building this thanks to excellent and easy to follow Pictorial instructions and Star Wars fans will appreciate the scene itself and what it represents, perhaps one to wait for in the sales but a fun LEGO build none the less.
This set is fantastic! The detailed design and quality are top-notch. Kelleran Beq and Grogu minifigures are a great addition. My 8-year-old loves building it and playing with the speeder bike and sidecar. Perfect gift for Star Wars fans!
This is one of the new additions to the Star Wars series for 2024. It is high quality as you would expect from LEGO and with 221 pieces offers plenty to construct with and extend play. This set is on the Lego builder app and we like to use its step by step dynamic instructions to build. This adds to the fun when putting this together. There is a link to this on the side of the box.
For those of us who are still learning about Star Wars I did a bit of background research and found this set is based on Grogu’s escape from the Mandaloruian helped by Kelleran Beq.
The set includes a Biker Advanced Recon Commando (BARC) speeder which was used by the Grand Army of the Republic in the Clone Wars. This was used as a scouting and escort vehicle giving the ordinary clone troopers speed and mobility. There are two 501st troopers included and also a hovering pod, (containing a speeder bike with side pod) for the Grogu figure.
As this is the first ever inclusion of a minifigure of Kelleran Beq this makes this set quite unique. Alongside this including a lamp post in the set is the only part that feels a bit random.
Overall as a Lego set it is likely to excite Star Wars fans. However in comparison to other Lego sets it feels like there is less for your money. Having said that this is more likely to become a ‘collectors item’ in the years to come.
All in all as a set, this is a nice addition to other Star Wars collections or can stand by itself. A nice gift for Star Wars fans.
I got the LEGO Star Wars BARC Speeder Escape Set (75378) for my grandson, and it’s been a hit. The set includes Kelleran Beq with dual lightsabers, two 501st Clone Troopers, and a cute Grogu figure. The BARC speeder bike, with its detachable sidecar for Grogu’s hoverpram, is fun to build and play with. The scenery build adds a nice touch to the Jedi Temple flashback scene from The Mandalorian.
My grandson loved using the LEGO Builder app to zoom and rotate the digital version while building. At 24.99, it’s good value, especially with free delivery and returns on Amazon Prime. This set is a fantastic gift for any Star Wars fan aged 8 and up, offering hours of imaginative play.
This is a great addition to anyone who is a fan of Lego and the Madalorian/Star Wars universe. The set is straightforward to build up following the instructions, and took less than an hour.
There are 4 figures included within the set, including Grogu!
The set is reasonably priced for what it is, as Lego tends to be on the expensive side anyway.
Great for kids, reasonably priced on Amazon compared to the MSRP. The build took me as an adult around 40 minutes to complete, providing an enjoyable experience. It looks very accurate even at its small scale and is great for display. I particularly appreciated the Taun We minifigure which (while not film accurate) is reminiscent of the Lego Star Wars video games and a fun inclusion to the set.
Great set from a famous brand and great for all ages. Once assembled with a easy following guide from the booklet and lego app it now sits all assembled with my other starwars sets.
Building the set was an enjoyable experience, with clear instructions and well-thought-out design. The characters and their accessories add a lot of play value. However, some pieces were a bit tricky to fit together, which might be challenging for younger builders.
This Star Wars Lego set depicts a flashback scene in The Mandalorian tv series during in which we learn a bit more about Grogu’s origins as he makes a daring escape from the Jedi temple during the early stages of Order 66. The main build is a republic Barc speeder that Grogu and his rescuer, the Jedi Kelleran Beq, commandeer from the attacking clone troopers. Although Barc speeders and other speeder bikes regularly feature in Lego sets, this is only the second time one with a side car has made it into Lego form. Its a fairly familiar build, but I was happy to pick it up in this form, particularly as it can easily be converted from carrying Grogu’s brick built pod to a carry an additional clone trooper, maybe adding a fixed weapon for good measure. The colour scheme is accurate to the tv appearance and matches other republic era vehicles such as the recent fighter tank. It’s arguably a bit big when compared to the on-screen vehicle, but it’s in scale with other recent Lego speeders and is a good size for play. The Grogu mini figure is unchanged from previous sets, but it’s nice to see his brick built pod in a low price set. Kelleran Beq is the clear highlight of the minifigures, complete with cape, two lightsabers and some nice gold detailing on his torso. Two 501st clone troopers round out the set, in the latest phase two clone style with helmet holes, but no attachments are provided. There is a small side build of a lamp which has attracted a bit of criticism in the Lego community – I guess it is fairly pointless, but things like this can help with world building! Perhaps some of the Jedi temple balcony would have been aesthetically nicer, but that would have significantly upped the piece count / price without adding much play value.
Overall, this is a decent smaller size Star Wars set that is perhaps a 5 over priced in my opinion. As such, I’d recommend picking it up on discount if you can wait a few months after the initial release. Amazon are pretty good with discounts, so keep your eyes peeled.
My nine year old managed to build this Star Wars set in less than an hour, which is relative quick for her.
The instructions were easy to follow and the build great for any Star Wars Mandalorian fan.
The set comes with 4 characters: Kelleran Beq, Grogu and 2 x Clone Troopers.
Overall, a great little build – would recommend!
My son is Star Wars Lego mad and he loves this set, he couldn’t wait to build it.
Typical of all Lego sets these days the instructions are very clear and easy to follow for all ages.
This set comes with a great mini figure selection including some new and unique mini figures I believe.
The whole set is a great design with nice details, not overly “blocky” even for a relatively small set.
Construction was straight forward with no complicated building techniques needed, again ideal for all ages.
One standout feature is Grogu’s detachable hover pram allowing for lots of imaginative play.
