This works just like a standard cable. It charges reliably, but I have dozens of cables that do that, so I wanted this for its magnetic properties. While this feature definitely works pretty well, it can occasionally be a faff to coil, requiring you to position the cable with care, and I was hoping for something that would almost snap into place. That said, it works; it allows you to coil the cable, but it needs more manual manipulation than I’d like. Overall, it’s good, but not necessarily worth paying twice the price for. Personally, I wouldn’t pay 19.99 for one of these cables, but this was recently on offer for 12.99 until recently, so I’d recommend holding out for another price drop if you’re keen to try one.
I teamed this lead up with a 20watt plug and my iphone charges from low to full in under an hour. The super fast charging is only one good point about this lead, the magnetic braided cable also helps keep the lead neat when not in use. It coils together easily but remains flexible enough to stick in your pocket or bag. I also found it sticks to my metal cash drawer at work when not in use, which is a complete side point, but saves me having to pick it up off the floor again.
The lead feels and looks quality, and when teamed up with the right plug, it really does perform great!
Is it worth the price? Mmmm don’t know. It’s maybe a bit over my budget for a single lead. While the magnetic side is quite interesting, I can get a lead that charges just as fast for much less.
This cable has a really nice feel to it, with a quality build and a durable braided outer layer. The magnetic feature is a great idea, making it easy to coil and keeping it in place. The entire length of the cable is magnetic, allowing you to coil it to any size and it stays put. If you have multiple cables, they stack on each other neatly. It’s a practical solution for managing unruly cables. When uncoiled, the cable straightens nicely and maintains a good connection to the phone.
I recently purchased the Magtame USB C to Lightning Cable, and I must say, it’s been a game-changer for me. The innovative magnetic folding design is a brilliant solution to the age-old problem of tangled cables. It’s not just a functional feature; it actually makes the cable look stylish and sophisticated, perfect for use anywhere from home to the office.
What truly impressed me was the 30W PD fast charging capability. The difference in charging speed is noticeable and efficient, charging my iPhone 14 to 70% in just 30 minutes. This performance is complemented by its data sync capabilities, ensuring that I’m always connected without any hassle.
The MFi certification of this cable is a testament to its quality and compatibility. It seamlessly works with a wide range of Apple devices without any annoying warning pop-ups. This level of reliability is something I deeply appreciate.
Another standout feature is the low-temperature protection technology. It’s comforting to know that my devices are safe from overheating, allowing me to charge and use them without any concerns over battery health.
The cable’s compatibility with a wide range of devices, including the latest iPhone and iPad models, adds to its versatility. Whether I’m using it for my iPhone 14 Pro Max or my iPad, the performance is consistently excellent.
In summary, the Magtame USB C to Lightning Cable is an outstanding product. Its combination of innovative design, fast charging, reliable performance, and safety features makes it a standout choice. It’s not just a charging cable; it’s a technological advancement in the realm of mobile accessories. If it were possible, I’d give it 6 stars. For anyone in need of a high-quality, efficient, and stylish charging cable, this is the one to go for. Five stars out of five, without a doubt!
I expected this would be cool and fun to play with but be slower to charge, not very easy to wrap up or tangle up with its magnets But it is none of those things!
I’ve tested it and it charges at the same voltage, wattage and speed as the original Apple one I have for my iPhone 14 Pro Max. It also wraps up really easily at apparently any size I pick, never tangles during use, feels nice with its braided cover and can even be randomly stuck to anything magnetic like a radiator likely not great for the cable when it’s hot but you could!
Now I need to replace all my other cables with these! I hope their USB-C ones are thunderbolt 4 and good quality!
As a stickler for “cord management,” charging cables have been a perpetual nuisance for me. I’ve had cords in drawers, devolving into a chaotic tangle, or scattered around, occupying more space than they should. Upon encountering this solution, I felt compelled to give it a go, and it’s truly ingenious.
When not in use, you effortlessly coil it, and it stays in place! No more sprawling cords. It carries a bit of weight, but that doesn’t bother me at all. I recently took it on my travels, and it held up splendidly. Pop it into its designated spot, and it remains neatly coiled together. The coiled size is akin to a loosely fitting bracelet. The length is just perfect for my requirements. Surprisingly, it feels great in hand (not something you typically say about a charging cord). I appreciate the fabric weave and the robustness at the connections. Here’s hoping the build quality ensures longevity.
I never thought I woud see a neat little cable like this. The magnet throughout the cable can keep it nice and neat and coiled.
I bought this for an old school hi-fi that I use my iPhone to play music through. The chassis of my hi-fi is metal, so I can attach the cable to the side nice and neat when not in use.
Sound quality is good and the braid feels sturdy. Will have to see if can stand up to multiple coils.
As someone who uses many USB cables i’m always interested in ideas that promise to make my day to day usage tidier or my cables more easy to manage.
The cable itself works great just as you would expect. I’ve used it to charge my Samsung Tablet (s8 plus) and it charged it without any issues in the same time my old cable took.
In terms of the promise to make the cables that much easier to work with I’m pleased to say, this cable lived up to my expectations and did just that.
The magnet is weak enough to not be too bothersome but strong enough to keep the cable from flopping about loose when there’s a fair bit of slack.
All in all this cable delivers and I recommend it.
+ Very tidy
+ Smart looking
+ Feels sturdy & hard wearing braided material
+ Ideal for leaving on your work desk or in a car to keep horizontal surfaces tidy
– Does not self-tidy even if you slowly put it down, you need to coil it yourself
– Doesn’t hold its own weight, so you can’t leave it dangling from a plug as a coil as I had hoped, it will just unfurl into a normal wire
With the number of different devices I have, and the number of different cables to recharge those devices, the rear end of my chair side table is looking like a bowl of spaghetti. There is a whole community of slithering worms living there and when I want to find a cable with the correct end fitting for the device I am currently using it can be a frustrating exercise. When I do eventually find the termination that I want I then have to free it up from a tangled mess so that I can attach whatever it is that needs to be connected.
The idea of a cable that will hold an orderly coiled structure, without the use of cable ties, had massive appeal. A big bonus is that this cable is well made with a good braid, which I always prefer for my cables as it is more durable that the plastic type coatings. The terminations also appear very solidly built with robust cable protectors. That is important as it is at the termination to cable junction where you are most likely to see a failure. A negative is that the cable is fairly thin. I prefer thicker cables because then, although it is not guaranteed, you have at least a chance of thick wires inside. With thin cables then it goes without saying, you cannot have thick wires inside. Thick wires mean less resistance to whatever signal you are trying to pass down that cable.
In use I found the cable to be quite memory free. I wouldn’t class it as very supple but once manually straightened out it will remain fairly straight. When you ask it to coil up and maintain concentric circles it will also do that. I was able to get it to make six circles, one lying on top of the other. When used to charge my phone it allowed a brisk passage of the signal from the charger and I have no complaints about the speed of transfer but I am mindful that charging speeds are dependent on many factors and the cable is only one link in the chain.
The one real negative for this cable is it’s price. 19.99 for a one metre cable is , I feel, pushing a little beyond the limits. There is a lot of snake oil being applied when it comes to cables and their “special” qualities and I am wary of being seduced by the hype.
Magtame steps up the game with a unique magnetic folding design to tackle the old tangled cable nightmare. With its 30W PD fast charging powered by gold-plated C48 terminals and tinned copper, your iPhone will charge fast which is great, plus, it’s MFi certified which means no compatibility issues.
The magnetic casing is a neat trick, easily coiling up for compact storage in your bag or desk. The braid feels durable, built to withstand daily wear and tear. Performance-wise, it’s delivering – fast, efficient charging and consistent data syncing.
Now, let’s talk price – 20. It’s more than your average cable. Sure, the magnetic feature and robust build are impressive, but it’s a premium tag. While it’s cool and convenient, whether it’s 20 cool depends on what you value in a cable. Is the style and functionality worth the extra pounds? You be the judge.
The Magtame cable offers an innovative design and high-speed charging, wrapped in quality. It’s a bit pricey, but if you’re after a mix of style and efficiency, it’s a worthy investment. If not, there are plenty of other options that are kinder to your wallet. Ultimately, it boils down to your needs and budget.
From when I placed the order the cable it took just 48 hours to be delivered, which was great. It came in a properly branded box rather than a jiffy bag as some cables do.
The Pros: The cable seems to be about twice the thickness of my original Sync cable while still being able to fit properly through the case on my phone, it has what appears to be a metal style braiding similar to that found on braided gas line. It has properly moulded Lightning and USB plugs on each end unlike some of the cheaper cables you can get online.
The cable itself magnetically sticks together so preventing it from unwinding by self, thus helping to keep the cable tidy. The cable’s magnet is also strong enough to stick the cable to metal like the body of your car or radiators.
This cable is also more than just a charge cable, it is also a Sync cable, (MFi Certified) when I used it to connect to my Windows 11 computer it was recognised immediately as an iPhone connected to the computer and all my photos where available.
The Cons: There don’t seem to be any really, only comment for the negative side is that it appears to be USB 2 and not USB 3, but not really an issue and the cable could do with being a little longer, however it is only 1 inch shorter than the original apple cable that came with the phone, but then you can probably get longer versions if you want. But this is more than long enough to use to charge the phone at 135cm in length and has a cross dimension of about 5mm
