I thought I’d try this tape as a thinner alternative and i do have to say it works pretty well, but there’s a series of caveats.
First is just the application, there’s a knack to it for sure. I recommend getting some string or a thin strip of paper and wrapping that around your joystick first to mark and cut to get a measuring stick of sorts to cut the right length of tape easily, then, you need to rub the joystick around a bit in the controller to get a mark around the stick to find the friction point. After that, lean the stick to one side and stick the tap on flat and HOPEFULLY get a good wrap around. I also recommend making sure you get the ‘notch’ in a direction you rarely press, like, I find I rarely press downward angles on either stick as much as any other directions, doing this to get the ‘bump’ out of an area I’m going to feel frequently. If you get the perfect length that won’t be an issue I suppose but that’s not real easy to do. I kind of wish they had included a guide.
Anyway, once in place, you get a similar feel as a stick without anything on it, but it’s much smoother and quieter, so it’s a win win, just difficult to implement. Not sure how long it will last either though, the rings last the entire life of the controller so far so it’s going to take awhile to find out.

La cinta es lo suficientemente larga para colocar en los joysticks de todos los mandos que tengamos en nuestra vida, ya que no hace falta demasiado para darle una vuelta a cada uno de ellos.
Las pinzas son necesarias ya que si coges la parte de pegamento con los dedos se va y queda inservible, por lo que sirve para coger la cinta y para aplicarla alrededor de todo el joystick. Necesitars unas tijeras o cuchillo para cortar la cinta por donde necesites.
Son tiles a largo plazo ya que protegen el joystick y si est bien aplicado no se nota a la hora de deslizar.
Hay que aplicarlo con cuidado ya que si se hace alguna bocha es muy complicado de quitar y se notar a la hora de girar el joystick.
Recomiendo la compra de esta cinta, aunque creo que es excesiva y se podra vender en cintas ms cortas y econmicas.
Anello protettore adesivo per Joystick.
All’interno della confezione c’ un anello di nastro adesivo e una pinzetta di plastica.
Il nastro adesivo ultrasottile con uno spessore di 0,18 e lungo 10 metri.
Va applicato intorno alle levette dei controller.
L’ho applicato su un controller di PS4 e PS5. Con la pinzetta in dotazione, ho applicato il nastro adesivo intorno alle levette. (Per tagliare il nastro, serve una forbice da usare a parte).
Adesso avverto una migliore rotazione delle levette ai bordi e sono pi sicure, cos non si rovinano e non si graffiano durante il tempo.
Un’ottima soluzione, semplice ed efficace per le levette dei controller.

Sono rimasto soddisfatto.

Applying these is a massive pain, not inherently by the product’s fault just the fact that putting it on the analog stick stems is an extremely fiddly process. Once applied it seems to hold onto pretty well so I can’t fault it. The real question is do you really need those? It does what it says but it’s also target at a problem that I feel never was really a massive issue. Also some older controllers like the gamecube one, because of the shape of the hole I would advice against using one of those. All and all, interesting product, does what it says, but a bit of an unnecessary invention.
I honestly didn’t think this would work as well as it does, it makes the joystick glide smooth like glass around the edges, and it even cuts down a little bit of the hard sound of your joystick hitting the side of the housing hard. The only thing I wish was a bit easier was if maybe the strips were already cut to size, because you don’t want to have any overlap because then you can feel that in the thumbstick, but you also don’t want to leave a gap because you’ll also feel that. The best solution I have found is to overlap a bit and then cut with a sharp knife or razor and then just pull the excess off and lay the overlapping piece back down. Other than that everything has been great, the tape sticks well, and it does what it’s advertised to do.
Eher aus Neugier habe ich mir dieses Schutzband mal in natura anschauen wollen.
Das Teflonband scheint jedoch zu halten, was es verspricht, wenngleich ich mir mehr einen dmpfenden Effekt gewnscht htte um den Ton des Sticks beim Spielen etwas zu reduzieren, was dieses Band leider nicht vollbringt.
Meine Empfehlung fr den Einsatz dieses Schutzes sind etwa zwei Umwicklungen um den Stickschaft, denn auch wenn der Kleber ordentlich hlt, maximiert dies den Halt ebenso wie den Schutz und ist zudem noch immer dnn genug um beim Spielen nicht zu stren und… naja… mit 10 Metern auf der Rolle hat man hier quasi einen Lebensvorrat, weshalb man sich wegen Verschwendung eher keine Gedanken machen braucht.
Das Anbringen ist etwas frickelig und ich bin mir sicher, dass Grobmotoriker hier evtl. nen Kasper kriegen knnten 😉
Aber mit ein wenig Geduld und Ruhe in den Hnden geht das schon ganz gut und als kleinen Tipp gebe ich noch was mit auf den Weg: Versucht beim Anbringen doch mal den Stick schrg zu stellen, so knnt ihr an dieser Stelle den Streifen auch mit einem Finger andrcken!
Ich denke es ist soweit alles gesagt und auch wenn ich bezweifle, dass dieses Produkt unbedingt notwendig ist, ist es fr seinen Zweck immerhin ein gutes.
I had a problem with the joy sticks on my steam deck getting chewed up after hours of gaming. This tape is basically like a very thin piece of duct tape that goes on around the the stick to create a barrier that protects the plastic. Does the job great without effecting game play. I used to use rubber bands instead, but that meant pushing the sticks harder to register properly – this product means I no longer have to do that.
The tweezers are a must for applying this. Took me less than a few minutes. Once on they don’t come off easy, even after some rough movement. A simple fix for a very annoying issue.
Worth mentioning the price. It is a bit much for the amount given it is essentially duct tape as mentioned before. Can’t fault it does the job though and hopefully means my joysticks will last a bit longer in good condition.
