I orderd this to use at work. It does the job and have a lot of option to customize your lables but just over compleceted. If it is for at home use to print some fun lables probably would do a better job.
So this purchase really exceeded my expectations! So happy with it! I bought it almost half price (it was 25% off + could add another 20%) but I honestly think it’s worth paying full price for it, it’s a great little machine!
Unless I’ve missed something, you can only print in black colour, but you can buy labels in different colours separately. You can change the font and the size of the font, as well as the standard bold/italic etc. You can also add figures, shapes, emojis, pictures, frames etc — quite a lot of options. It’s easy to customise the labels and you can also grab the texts/figures etc and put them wherever you’d like them with your fingers on the phone screen (you need to download an app in order to use the label machine). This way it’s also very simple to change the size of the text/figures. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the labels — I expected cheap, paper labels. Instead the labels are plasticky and I reckon not much would happen should they get exposed to water etc.
Ignore the reviews saying labels constantly go to waste in between the uses (whenever you start using the label machine again) as these people do something that is not needed. The very first time you use it, one label will go to waste because of alignment. Some people seems to be re-doing the alignment every time they use it, which is NOT needed. Just switch it on, design your label and press print. No labels go to waste.
The paper instructions aren’t great, but I managed to work it out. At first it wasn’t printing anything on the labels and they came out blank. I then went to the (AI) chat in the app where you can do some troubleshooting. It was suggested the tape might be faced the wrong way, so I took it out and put it back in on the other side. That did the trick, and labels got printed correctly.
The printer is great, smart looking and really easy to use through the app. However the stickers that came with the machine are useless and peel off very easily. I’ve used them to label plugs so it shouldn’t be an issue but they curl up and fall off within a couple of days.
This is a fantastic little printer. I bought it to print labels for a number of different sockets around my home but I’ve ended up using it for absolutely anything I can get my hands on. It couldn’t be easier to set up – no faffing around – you put the roll in the printer, double tap the main button, it finds the edge of the first label and you’re off! The app isn’t perfect, but it does everything you need it to do – and it even has a bar code and QR code creator, which I’ve found really handy for indexing things/basic stock control. Connects with Android perfectly and it’s never failed me yet. I couldn’t recommend it high enough.
As with all Amazon Prime deliveries, super fast and efficient.
The printer itself is compact, easy to set up and easy to run.
It is simple to change between the label types in the printer and also in the app.
The app was downloaded quickly, it is simple to set up and save different labels for quick re-use.
Our family love the cute animals and borders that can be added and we’ve used the transparent ones for labelling water bottles, packed lunch boxes and all manner of other things that typically get left at school.
QR code generation works well and is a great facility for adding to product labels that we generate too.
I contacted Phomemo after an issue on the registration page and their customer service team came back quickly to resolve.
One thing to be aware of is that not all system fonts are available. Fonts are ones embedded and dedicated to the app – not a real issue though – there are around 12 fonts to choose from so it’s possible to get something to reflect the style that you are after.
Great value for money and works out cheaper than buying sheets of A4 labels as you only print what you need to so no wasted half sheets – waterproof also a bonus over inkjet. Would recommend.
