I bought these to support my young trees that I am growing into standard trees .. some of the canes are not straight. I have had to cut off a number of side growths from canes as they catch on netting and also are a bit spiteful if caught on arms/legs. These are suitable for tomatoes etc and for the price they are good value, not confident that they offer sturdiness to all plants.
The seller sent the canes in excellent casing for transport – I highly recommend the seller.
For the price that you pay, you receive a high standard of material and I have to say exceptional speed when it comes to delivery. Mine was delivered within 48 hours and well packaged. They are Strong and sturdy and not a single one is damaged, Additionally, it says pack of 10 and I have way more than 10 in my pack.
This was a great bundle of bamboo canes for the price, and they were exactly as advertised. Being 5 foot means that I can cut them down to the size I need – this will be great for if my camellia keeps growing too spindly before pruning season!
Very straight so perfect for climbing plants, different thicknesses so if you need to snap some to make shorter you can. (As shown in pic). Great condition, arrived well packaged.
At 35p each these were a bargain, much cheaper than garden centres. Bamboo canes are always of variable appearance, so a few had more tapered ends or thicker bases than others, but all were usable, strong and of decent quality. Currently being used for tomatoes and cucumbers and I will be looking to buy other sizes next season as the current bean canes are starting to show their age.
They’re worth the money some of them were a little thin though so we had to be careful pushing them into the ground as they felt like they were about to snap. Most of them were fine though.
There were only 23 canes in both packages i received, not 25 as stated. Returned one package minus 2 from other package to make up to 25 as it should have been. If i pay for 25 canes i expect 25.
I bought this as I was experimenting growing cherry tomatoes from food scraps during lockdown earlier this year. I never know I would be successful as the tomato plants grew and started to flower, I had to transfer into bigger pots and needed to hold the stems up. These bamboo sticks were perfect – I just needed to tie them against the plants and let them continue to grow upwards without tipping over…supported the plants well especially when it started to bear fruit. It’s also natural i.e. not plastic, so it suited my purpose, was environmental friendly and looks so nice in the pots of tomatoes I have! I highly recommend. I still have quite a few left for next year’s experiment!!!
