PVBCTCSID 8K DisplayPort Switch 2 In 1 Out DP 1.4 Switch 8K@60Hz 4K@144Hz Display Port Switcher for Monitors TVs PCs Laptops Projectors etc.
Setting up this product was straightforward. It comes with clear instructions and all the necessary cables, so I had it up and running in just a few minutes. I connected two different devices to it — my gaming PC and my 4K TV — and switching between them is seamless. The switch supports both 8K@60Hz and 4K@144Hz resolutions, and I haven’t experienced any issues with video quality or signal loss.
One of the standout features is its reliability. I’ve tested it extensively with gaming sessions and video streaming, and it performs flawlessly. The switcher maintains a stable connection, and there’s no noticeable lag or delay when switching between devices.
The build quality is solid as well. It feels sturdy and well-made, which gives me confidence that it will last a long time. The compact size is also a plus, as it doesn’t take up much space on my desk.
Overall, I’m highly satisfied with this 8K DisplayPort switch. It’s reliable, easy to set up, and supports high-resolution displays without compromising on performance. If you’re looking for a reliable solution to switch between multiple devices on your display setup, this product is definitely worth considering.
I purchased this switcher to connect my work laptop and gaming PC to a single monitor. It does the job flawlessly, with quick and easy switching between the two sources. The 8K support is a future-proofing bonus, although I haven’t tested it yet. The metal casing feels sturdy, and the compact size is convenient.
In a nutshell:
Things I liked:
+ It worked flawlessly at 1440p and 165Hz with little to no lag when switching between inputs. The all-metal body suggests that it should be durable, and it was plug and play.
Things I didn’t like:
– The USB C power supply is not optional – it needs to be powered all of the time, although it seems any amount of USB C power is enough. You could easily power it from a USB port on your computer or any low powered USB C charger.
– 24 feels a little expensive – around 15-20 seems more reasonable.
Do I recommend it?
Yes – it works fine with no functional issues. If the price drops below 20, I think it’s a decent enough option.
This does exactly as intended. I only have one DP output on my screen and was finding it a pain to keep switching DP cables daily to change between my work laptop dock (working from hone) and my personal gaming PC. This device allows me to plug both devices in and switch between the two at the press of a button. My gaming rig also runs at 144Hz, 4K with is device no issue, although I’ve not tried 3D mode to prove that as I don’t use 3D. Note this item does not include any DP cables with it, so I did have to purchase an additional short DP cable in order to connect it to my screen, but never the less, I highly recommend this DP splitter.

I was only able to try this at 2K, not the full 8K.
This switch is a similar format to other switches / splitters, with the OUT and USB-C power in on one end and the two IN on the other. Easy to use, although you must have access to it to be able to press the button to toggle between inputs.
It all worked as it should do, with no loss of audio or video quality when switched over.
I work from home and so have work laptop and home laptop and two external monitors.
There’s nothing too special about the monitors so I am not going to comment on anything 8K!
However, when wired (cabled) up the switcher allows me to switch the monitor from one laptop to the other, the desk I have includes a usb port so it’s easy to plug in and power up the switcher.
This is a great little bit of kit and it make my life much easier than plugging and unplugging cables to switch between monitors.
Switching between my work laptop and gaming PC is now effortless. This switch operates smoothly with a simple button press. The picture quality remains sharp even at higher resolutions, and I haven’t noticed any lag or signal loss. It’s a compact device that eliminates the need to constantly plug and unplug cables, making my desk setup much tidier.
Happy with this. Good quality cable switcher, and the box / device itself seems to be fairly good quality, as well as the connections and buttons etc.
Plugged it into the tv cables and gave it a quick test, and all is working correctly.
Also works on my laptop. So happy so far!
Decent price and decent quality, so more to an happy to recommend!
This DisplayPort switch is a great addition to my setup. It handles 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 144Hz without any issues, which is perfect for my needs. The switch between inputs is quick and seamless. It’s compact and fits nicely on my desk. The only minor downside is that the buttons feel a bit flimsy, but overall, it’s a solid product that performs well.
This is a solid robust unit, that looks well built withj a solid metal exterior. It is however compact (a little over 2 inches square or 5cm) and reasonably lightweight (I weighed it as 62 grams). It has good connections all round and when fitted all the DP connections are secure. It requires a standard USB-C cable to power the unit (which it comes with).
It has a nice responsive button on the top, that can be used to switch between the two inputs. It works well (although I only tested at 4K). The high spec does mean it is more expensive than some other models.
Very well made switch. But pricey but well made. Made from metal all around apart from switch button which is plastic. The standard is DP 1.4 which up to 8K at 60Hz. Great device if you have only one Monitor and two different hardware units like. The usb cable must be connected for the device to work. For this price I will probably included software for easy switch between devices and plus button which is already included. The ports hold the cable safely in place. Tiny handy device. Thank you.
There’s a clunky and mechanical feel to the button on this DisplayPort switcher, which made me wonder if the splitter connection might be mechanical rather than electronic, in which case, might it work without needing the 5V power cable? Unfortunately that’s not the case, it does need to be plugged in and the green light needs to be on for the video signal to pass through.
It’s simplicity itself to use, with the green LED on the quirky alien shape panel clearly indicating which button is active. It’s a fairly quick and seamless switch, not instant of course as it takes the monitor a moment to readjust but it is possible to skip back and forth between different source PC’s very quickly and easily.
I’m not a huge fan of the aesthetics. Some (more expensive) switchers put the inputs and outputs all on one side of the device, which I think is much neater from a cable management point of view- there’s no real way to make this look tidy or to discreetly tuck it away, because the button needs to be visible, and therefore the cables will also be visible. Also the text on the top of the device explaining what it is is a bit ugly, and since you won’t care so much what it is once you’ve plugged it in, couldn’t that text have been hidden away on the side, rear, or even underneath?
This device works as expected, and my reasons for not giving it five stars are more to do with looks and layout rather than how it functions.
This arrived in an unbranded box with the contents well packaged with clear instructions.
The unit feels very well made with an all metal (aluminium) construction and a simple button on the top. It’s lightweight and very compact, meaning it can squeeze neatly into a corner. It is powered by the supplied USB-C cable which is neater and easier to setup than a plug or adapter.
As far as operation, it does exactly what it says in the description. I was able to easily switch between two devices on the same monitor. I don’t have 8k so I can’t comment on that, but it worked really well on standard DP cables and monitor.
I have to say the price on this is very good and the quality exceeds the low price in my opinion.
All in all, a compact and neat switcher that works really well for a bargain price.
There’s not a lot to say about this – and that’s a good thing. Plug in two video sources (and a USB to power things) and an output display and you’re off. Press the button to switch sources. That’s it. That’s all it does. But it does it very well.
Nicely made, clearly labelled and with a button that’s satisfying to press. I have to say, I’m delighted with it.
I’m using this to switch my TV between 2 satellite receivers.
It’s 8K and works very well but there are cheaper options on the market.
At 20 I would have liked a remote control with it.
