Arrived quickly. Not meant to use for 48 hours but couldn’t handle another night on the rock hard mattress. Was lovely waking up this morning without a bad back. It has adjustable elastic straps to hook over the corners of your mattress.
Love this mattress topper. I suffer with arthritis in my back and shoulder. This topper adjusts to the shape of your body, so no pressure on my sentive areas. Getting better night sleeps and not aching in the mornings.
Perfect for what I wanted. It’s made a huge difference to my pretty hard bed. No back ache when I get up on a morning now. My only observation apart from that is that it does get a little hot. Otherwise excellent.
After a lot of research and reading reviews I decided to buy this topper. Came next day delivery which is always great. I was prepared to lift a heavy box into the house. However presently surprised it was very light.
As much as I wanted to get it set on my bed, I resisted and followed the instructions. It is important to do this. The only place I could lay it flat without it being too much in the way was in my bedroom. So prepared myself for the room to smell a bit as toppers can. Again I was surprised, there was very little odour. My 7 year old quite enjoyed hitting it and rolling on it, to help get it in shape, it was a good workout. Finally I was able to put it in the bed. A lovely cover with straps made it very secure. The instructions do say to give it a try for a couple of weeks to feel the full benefits, and they are right. It has took around 3 weeks for maximum comfort, but now it is extremely comfy, a lovely nights sleep, and no more aching back or hips. I am very pleased with the topper and at the mid price point, well worth the money.
you take it out and open it and leave the bedroom door open for the warm air too circulate in the room. I got my young daughter to roll on the topper very quickly to flatting the creases a little..( creasing will still show at this time don’t worry .. within 3 hrs the topper was flat and raised. Was a little worried at first they was a foot difference from head to foot but a little shake and pat and you can see the end results for the photos.. so people obviously don’t use there head. Happy sleeping. Everyone. Obviously not slept on it yet leaving for the recommended time as stated.
ORIGINAL REVIEW (2 star): In principle this could be a comfortable memory foam topper, delivered with a useful protective outer cover for the foam. However unfortunately after a full 2 weeks of waiting for the mattress to even out and plump up to the dimensions specified, it was still very uneven, with thick ridges in some places, and heavily compacted areas elsewhere. In some places the thickness did reach the specified 5cm, in others it was still 1-2cm. The length and breadth did not get to the specified dimensions (uneven but apex. 5cm shorter and narrower). I wonder if the cause is something to do with substandard packing/rolling up of the mattress? Perhaps the one I received had been folded poorly and stored for a long time? However having waited for 2 weeks rather than the suggested 2 days, and placed flat in a warm room specifically heated to be above 20c as per instructions, I was disappointed and felt the quality to be so far below expectations that I returned it. I didn’t sleep on it in the end, but can imagine that (properly flattened out) it would indeed be comfortable. There is a chemical smell for a couple of days but this dissipates and was similar to a (much more expensive) full memory foam mattress I have previously bought.
I had just come back from a holiday in Iceland and the bed there was so unbelievably comfortable. I looked under the sheet to see what it was and it was a memory foam topper. So I looked for one and based on the reviews and price bought this one. Not a patch on what I experienced on holiday. OK so that’s mote to do with my expectations than the actual product. My mattress wasn’t too bad already and this improves it, so it’s worth the money for me. If your mattress is uncomfortable, I would say that this would be an inexpensive way of polishing a turd. I do sleep better now. I had pain before as I broke my neck, back, ribs, shoulder, hands so from that perspective it’s a winner too. Sorry for 4 stars. More because I had hoped for better is all.
Fast delivery, excited to receive in the hope this was going to help with pain relief from having Fibromyalgia. Upon opening I was so disappointed it lookef like a piece of old foam, all twisted out of shape BUT once left flat for 3 days it was like the ugly duckling story. I had any amazing mattress completely different from what was delivered.
Mornings are difficult for Fibromyalgia sufferous, the body pain normally takes a good few hours to start reducing, some mornings I can’t even get dressed due pain with all movement. First morning still had pain but nothing like I normally have. Second morning I was able to get out of bed as if I was in my 20’s again it wasnt until I got to the kitchen putting the kettle on I realised I was pain free. Movements still unsteady but that’s the condition. If you have Fibromyalgia this mattress topper is a MUST … Remember it takes at least 48 hours to recover shape mine took 72 hours BUT it was WORTH it the wait. I’m not a person for reviews but for those the suffer from any pain condition on waking in the morning it does make a big difference.
I started getting hip pain on one side , the side I sleep on and realised my orthopedic mattress is 20 years old and needed replacing as it is a hard mattress and I was starting to feel the springs. Mattresses were so expensive so I opted for this. The first morning I got out of bed and all my aches I usually feel were gone! However my hip was still sore and it has taken trips to the osteo to get that fixed, but it was still a bit sore. Now though after a few months if sleeping in this my hip is completely pain free and i wake up with not one ache anywhere! Absolutely brilliant.
The only down thing was it arrived and smelt a bit toxic and I should have aired it but i put it straight on the bed as I was desperate and hence the smell lasted over a week and made all the sheets smell, bit now it’s fine.
I’m really satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend it for aches and pains!
The mattress arrived quickly. Unlike other memory foam products the odour was minimal. After removing the cover, I left it to expand and air for about 24 hours before placing it on the bed. I get aches and pain in whatever position I sleep in. I get a numb shoulder if I lie on my side, and painful knees if I lie on my back. I also need extra support in my lower back. This mattress was excellent for helping these issues. It was like lying on a cloud and felt heavenly. It really does mould to the body. However, I found myself getting very hot after a certain period of time, which I personally find too much. I can be sensitive to temperature and can overheat at night. So I have given the mattress topper to my mum. She is always often feels too cold at night and wants extra comfort. So basically this is a good quality matress topper which will suit either people who feel the cold, or people who aren’t bothered by heat.

I’m not particularly sensitive to smells, but this mattress topper is really very smelly. It has a rubbery, harshly chemical reek. The instructions say to leave the topper uncovered in a well-ventilated room for 48 hours before zipping it back up and using it. I ended up leaving it for about 80 hours, turning regularly. After this time, there was still a noticeable pong in the air, despite me having a large bedroom with large windows left wide open, with air freely circulating from the rest of the house to the outside, and leaving a fan on the whole time. Hoping for the best, I washed the cover and my bedclothes with a nice fabric conditioner, put some scented dryer sheets inside the cover, and made up the bed. A week later, and my bedroom still stinks. Whenever the windows aren’t fully open, the smell accumulates, and the bedclothes have absorbed the foul odor and they too stink. Although the stink is possibly getting less pungent as the days pass — I wonder if I’m just getting used to it?
I’m going to give this topper a several more weeks and go through another cleaning cycle to see if the problem resolves, and then update this review accordingly.
I notice in the “Answered Questions” section above, someone asks about the bad smell — and a lady replies advising to leave the topper to air out in well-ventilated conditions for FOUR WEEKS and says “good luck”. That reply is heavily downvoted. Why? I can well believe that might be what it takes to get rid of this smell… and I’m puzzled that more reviewers haven’t mentioned the issue.
I really hope for the best because in all other respects this is an excellent topper. The cover is very well designed, a good fit with a non-slip texture on one side. My mattress is somewhat too soft, saggy, with lumpy hard bits and this topper resolves all those issues. But if it doesn’t stop smelling so bad I’ll just buy a new mattress.
I need a new mattress but decided to invest in a mattress topper as a short-term solution. It was difficult to choose, but I eventually decided to go for this one as it seemed to be good quality and offered a money back guarantee. The one star review which talks about ‘nice marketing’ nearly put me off, but I’m glad I ignored it – I’m not sure that they were reviewing the same thing. The product arrived a day ahead of schedule and was exactly as described. Having unpacked it, I left it to air on a flat surface as per the instructions. It had a couple of ridges when first unpacked and a slight smell but both of these issues went very quickly and it was ready to put on the bed within 24 hours. It is very soft and comfortable but may take some getting used to after years on a very hard and uncomfortable mattress. It is too early to say whether it will help with my lower back pain, but it is certainly refreshing not to be aware of my ribs and hip when lying on my side now.
After a lot of mental debate I settled on this one which states that it uses a memory foam single piece core (many are not utilising 2-3 different types of foam welded together and many only offering just 1 inch of memory foam which is totally pointless!)
I would have preferred to be able to purchase a 3″ thick topper as that offers the best support and cushioning but they are HARD to find in RELIABLE makers so I settled for this 2″ topper.
The main requirement naturally was performance – more on that later – but it had to have no bad odours and come with a removable washable cover.
Cover is great – made from bamboo so they claim – so I’m all for that.
Odours – what you should expect – memory foam does off gas but it should be low odour and not foul smelling – this one is one of the best I’ve had to be honest with the odour dissipating after only 4-6 days and barely noticeable to start with.
The only way you’re going to get a topper that has low odour with what can be assumed safe off gassing is to resist the urge to buy the cheapest ones out there which are more than likely made in various Factories where regulations regarding such things are a great deal more lax than over here for example. This one is made in China but is more than likely from a more ISO accredited place.
RECCI are a well known brand and so I placed some faith in them and I wasn’t disappointed.
HOWEVER there is a BUT.
I will never understand why the topper manufacturers are not able to use a tape measure correctly by the seem of things. I measured my mattress and it was EXACTLY 150cm wide top to bottom. This topper is 1 cm shy on either side making it 148 cm wide. This is damned annoying and they all seem to have this problem!.
as such there is a little dip on either side of the bed – luckily having a kingsized bed makes this a little less annoying and noticeable but if this is something that persists with smaller bed sizes it could be a deal breaker!!
despite that it is the first topper I have bought that came with a grip dot coating on the underside which indeed helps a great deal with keeping the topper in place during the night. All my prior toppers did not have this and they all had a mind of their own sliding quite a lot during the night! This still happens with this one but nowhere near as bad! – Commendations to Recci for this little addition which is most welcomed.
Finally – does it do what it says it will – well yes and quite well – Insant relief to my neck and no more numbed shoulders – It feels a little too firm when you first lie on it and you may doubt whether it will be any good – but it is deforming and yet still have enough “spring” to support you without collapsing like a cheap topper would!
I’m actually pretty impressed with it – it’s out peforming any of my prior purchases so far and extended use will be able to tell me if it can keep this performance up over the long term – fingers crossed But I’m confident so far!
So to summarise – RECCI – if you could have made it ACTUALLY 150cm wide like you claimed it would be you would have gotten 5 stars off me! But you didn’t and thus you’re not. You’ve almost got a perfect product here – a shame you couldn’t get that ONE thing right!
If you ever feel like making one that is 3″ thick AND it’s TRUELY 150 cm wide – gimme a shout – I’ll buy it right away!! 😉
