This mouse and keyboard combo set comes boxed with instructions. There’s no recharging to worry about as both the mouse and keyboard each take batteries, though not the same ones and none are included. The mouse takes one AA and the keyboard takes two AAAs.
There’s no premium feel but build quality seems decent for the price – the keyboard is thin and tilted for comfort. Unusually, the USB dongle is stored in the keyboard rather than the mouse.
Performance has been great, once I popped in the dongle the keyboard and mouse connected to my PC straight away. They are both responsive, comfortable to use and relatively quiet though I prefer noisier clickier keys. Overall I am very happy with this mouse and keyboard.
I returned the first set as I opened the mouse (where usb dongles always are) to discover it wasn’t there. When the replacement set turned up it turns out its in the keyboard and not the easiest to get out .
Otherwise a great full size keyboard without the number pad and arrows on the side .
Nicely made compact keyboard and mouse. Just plug in the small dongle and both keyboard and mouse connect immediately. I’m using this with a Toshiba Chromebook and it is a pleasure to work with.
I got this to use with a chrome book that is plugged into a monitor but with limited space on a small desk I needed a keyboard small enough to fit on the desk but big enough to be functional.
This one works well for my needs. The mouse is responsive too and again isn’t big and bulky. It isn’t top of the range but I didn’t need that, I think its excellent value for money though.
I ordered this as a direct replacement for an earlier version of the Rii keyboard and mouse combo set I’d purchased. The keyboard for this still worked fine (although it was looking past its best), but the mouse was sadly dropped and broken recently.
As a basic wireless keyboard and mouse combo this one works quite well and it’s a good price for the set. There’s a dongle in the base of the keyboard that fits into one of your USB ports and this is used for both the mouse and the keyboard. The keyboard takes 2xAAA batteries, the mouse takes 1xAA battery. However, I think that’s a bit of a pain as you then need to order different packs to use this and the older version I had used AAA for both. Why change it?
As a replacement to compare with their earlier version, it’s all very similar in style and performs well. I’d say the keyboard is a step up from the original as it feels a little nicer when in use as well as it being more compact in the layout. I particularly like them having moved the ‘delete’ key up to the top right where I’d expect it to be on a keyboard as their earlier model had it somewhere near the return/enter key and it took some getting used to in order to remember it was there (although, I now of course keep going there for it and am having to adapt to the ‘proper’ position once again).
The mouse, on the other hand, is most definitely a step down. It is incredibly light and cheap feeling and although I must have dropped the original one on countless occasions before it eventually broke (yes, I know I need to be more careful but I move from room to room with this), I have doubts that this new one would see out many accidents at all as it’s really very flimsy. I think it would be better if they had put a little more production value into the mouse.
Aside from that, it’s a stylish set that’s compact and useful to have. No issues performance wise and I’m happy with my new set to work with!
This keyboard and mouse set is absolutely on par with the rest of the market with perhaps a slight value for money advantage.
The keyboard has the usual flex in the body and the mouse is super-lightweight – all par for the course – so no real criticism.
I nearly didn’t find the RF receiver until I consulted the other reviews, and find it odd it was not in the space provided to store in the mouse. (its in the keyboard battery compartment – old news but sharing!) Bit weird that. But it was found and all was good.
For clarity it’s not bluetooth and is RF using a dongle. This approach has pro’s (reliability and battery life) and cons (you need a spare port and it’s another thing to drop or misplace). You need your own batteries, all standard. I would use, and do use rechargeable batteries in this situation.
I really didn’t like the logo on the spacebar but this is aesthetic and personal preference I guess.
In summary a really useful, compact keyboard and mouse, probably best suited to travel and a laptop that needs connecting to an external screen.
First off, this is not a rechargeable wireless keyboard and it requires 2 x AAA batteries, which are not supplied. It’s also not Bluetooth.
For some odd reason, the USB dongle for both the mouse and keyboard is situated inside one of the battery compartments on the keyboard. I say odd because the underside of the mouse has USB dongle sized hole with nothing in it!
Anyway, both the keyboard and mouse operate from the same USB dongle, which is simple and straightforward to connect when using a PC. It’s basically plug and play.
The mouse is optical and works well, the buttons are not too clunky and the scroll wheel feels good. It requires a single AA battery, not supplied.
The keyboard is slim and of a solid construction and the keys feel nice and responsive, not having to press too had to get it to work etc.
All in all a decent quality wireless keyboard and mouse set.
It’s a shame the keyboard isn’t rechargeable but hopefully the batteries will last a good while before needing replacing.
To me the main reason to have a small Keyboard is so that you can take it with you when you take your laptop/tablet away from home. Well this Keyboard and mouse combo is small and portable enough, but the issue for me is that there is no power button/switch, on the keyboard. The mouse can be turned off but not the keyboard. To me this is a big drawback and would mean I would have to remove the batteries, or except the power drain from the keys knocking against the side of my bag etc. I only use the laptops Keyboard for short periods of time, having the laptop screen and hence keyboard, elevated most of the time, hence the need for a separate keyboard.
The Keyboard is a good portable size and the keys are responsive. There is no number pad, but that’s fine as you can access the numbers from the main keys. There are also various function/multimedia keys available. Although there is a caps lock button there is no LED/indication when this is active. The mouse is low profile, flatter than most but is responsive and works well.
I tried linking the keyboard/mouse to my laptop and then my Android tablet via a USB-C to USB-A converter. In both cases the keyboard/mouse linked and worked immediately without any need to go through the pairing process.
You will need 2 x AAA and 1 x AA battery as batteries are not included.
To me this would be an ideal keyboard/mouse combination if only the keyboard had an on/off switch, but other than that it works well.
This is a Nice Compact Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Set which is compact enough to carry in most laptop bags – This is particularly useful if you want to use a separate Keyboard and a proper Mouse with your laptop! They’re easily connected via a Small USB Dongle (which is kept inside the keyboard battery compartment for safe keeping) and they’re both powered by normal Batteries (2 x AAA for Keyboard and 1 x AA for Mouse). As previously mentioned, as well as being compact, they’re also both pretty Slimline and look Good Quality/Durable. Price wise, the set is selling at 16.99, but there’s currently a 6% off voucher on the advert which brings them down to just 15.97 – Great Value! Overall, it’s a nice set-up, especially if you want something that’s Light & Very Portable. Thank you.
Slim and lightweight 2.4Ghz wireless keyboard and mouse.
Just plug it in the receiver and away you go. You’ll find this in the keyboard’s battery slot.
No auto shut off, but there is a manual on/off switch to save on battery usage. (Batteries not included 2x AAA and 1x AA)
The key presses feel good too for this budget product.
CONCLUSION:
Nice, simple, lightweight, good design and one for on the go.
