I’ve really enjoyed making the flower house. I’ve never created one of these before. I’m going to order another one. It’s intricate and interesting. Easy to pick up and put down, doing bits at a time. My children have loved seeing it come together being careful with the tiny piecesthey’ve even left me to get on with it.
My only wish is that the “glass” was clearer rather than have the slightly misty appearance although.I’ve taken to the image of Cathy on an evening in her green house enjoying a nice glass of wine with a cheeky cigarette on a weekend.

You will need extra pva glue.
Also the addition of some fine tip longer metal tweezers have been useful.
Clothes pegs have held things in place until they’re dry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crafty and fun.

Really nice set and looking so natural.
The only negatives are that not all steps are listed and makes it difficult for the cover to fit to the base. Which I couldn’t because was all glued.
Spent a good few days making it!

A relaxing and rewarding way to spend a few hours a night crafting! There are some extremely small and fiddly parts i struggled with however – mainly the electrical elements. I also recommend using white acrylic paint on the walls and flooring, and using quick-dry all-purpose *gel* glue on the wooden elements (using a pritt stick on the paper books and boxes will be just fine though) instead of the paint and glue that it gives you – saves so much time and hassle!

I don’t know if I’ll be able to tackle this, I anticipate a lot of swearing – especially as the cat will probably try to “help” but I’m going to have a lot of enjoyment trying.
The kit is beautiful and the instructions seem clear.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have no experience of doing anything like this and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed making it. It’s really good quality and the attention to detail is amazing. The instructions are 99% easy to follow but I found YouTube was a great help for clarifying something. The majority of what you need is in the box, other things that I found a must was a scalpel and cutting mat, bulldog clips, long nosed pliers and a ruler. Some bits are a little fiddly and you really do need patience but if you take your time and don’t rush you’ll soon get there. I did need a little help from hubby for the electrical part but other than that it really was a pleasure to make and so much fun. It looks amazing finished and lit up.

I have received this model as a Xmas present. When I opened the box there was a lot of parts and I was worried that it’ll be too complicated. But it wasn’t. Instructions are well written with picture clues, and although it seems a lot it honestly wasn’t. Just following the step by step guide. And it’s good fun. Really enjoyed building it.

I got this for my father, he’s 73, since he’s been retired he’s been getting bored. He’s not able to move about like he used to. After his hip operation this greenhouse helped him loads! It took his mind off the pain and helped so much in his recovery. He did swear a few times as some of the plants are extremely fiddly and small but all in all he enjoyed making it.

I was really pleased with the completed model. However some adaptations were needed. I used PVA woodworking glue instead of the adhesives provided. The books were quite repetitive in appearance so I printed a few highly reduced photos of my own books to construct amongst those provided. Also, personalised the pictures with much reduced prints of family and pets. Construction was generally ok using the printed plan to get the sizes of wood pieces correct. I didn’t like the floor so used lolly sticks to make realistic floorboards. I used emulsion paint left over from decorating for the outer part of the model, then used acrylic paints for the inner walls. The light was a total nightmare which was binned and replaced with ready wired leds. Also used a larger battery box which hides behind the completed model. The chair is a challenge but looked ok when completed. Initially thought the item was overpriced when I saw the contents of the kit and took into account the extra items I needed to buy or print myself. Overall an enjoyable, if frustrating at times, experience. The finished model was well worth the time and money spent.

Having completed a few of the dream bottle series miniatures in glass jars I wanted something bigger!
Instructions are easy to follow and everything comes in numbered bags along with a reference sheet for parts. Some areas require you to read ahead a little (especially the lighting!) to ensure you do things in the correct order.
I did find I glued the floor paper the wrong way round (though I followed the instructions) and had to cut off some of the tab bits to fit it in the right way round but worked out fine!
Glue is alright, sticks but takes a little longer to dry and you get those annoying glue webs that you have to pull off once dry. Always recommend a glue stick and some super glue which you can buy separately along with some needle nose pliers and needle nose tweezers, the ones that come in the set went straight in the bin.
Outer ‘glass’ casing was difficult I won’t lie. Pretty sure it’s impossible to not get excess glue anywhere!
All in all I loved it. The plants got a little bit tedious so my only complaint is I wish they mixed up the instructions a bit so you made different things but you don’t necessarily have to follow the individual bits in order I suppose!

Great fun and looks amazing on my shelf, but it was supposed to include 2x CR2032 Lithium 3V batteries but the bag is missing.
I’ve got the same issue with the flower shop version so I think they might not be able to post them or something

I got this as a gift for my mum and she adores it! She sometimes has a harder time with some of the more fiddly parts as her eyesight isn’t 20/20 anymore but still gets a lot of enjoyment from it.

The overall kit is very good but it did come with broken pieces… but I managed. The other thing was I noticed was the bags could have more numbers on them cause there 2 number 5 bags which makes it confusing but overall good.

The greenhouse looks very interesting. I think it will be more difficult than I expected as it has a lot of fiddly parts. It also needs a couple of things that are not supplied. I am looking forward to making it.
My kit was missing the pigment that was listed on the supplied list.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI think this kit takes a special kind of person for it to really shine.
I love doing repetitive tasks and working with tiny crafts so this was perfect for me.
It’s very small, detailed and at times frustrating.
I had to take a break whilst assembling due to the HUGE amount of books needed to be made and then glued to the base. It altogether took me ~a week of doing it for atleast 5 hours a day, although im a bit of a perfectionist.
I think if i was to do choose a first kit for myself ever again, I would probably choose something smaller/ a more general feel as putting together all those books took a toll.
Overall its a lovely little kit and i’m glad to have done it. Worth the money.

We loved it. Not easy but it looks great and is fun to do. The instructions aren’t great but I think that adds to the fun. Would have been 5 stars but we were missing parts for the birdhouse 🙁

Came across this on a major right street retailers website, but it was slightly more expensive, so bought it on here.

It is extraordinarily cute, because the attention to detail needed for each and every item is fascinating. I’m not even 5% of the way through it yet, but there are a couple of items missing ALREADY, which for the price, isn’t great – the batteries were missing for the ceiling light. So now I have to go and buy some (CR2032). Other than that, so far so good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as a little project as I love crafting and wanted to make a little something for my best friends daughter for her sylvanian family’s. I choose ‘Doro’s Loft’ as i thought it looked pretty in the pictures and thought it be perfect, however now I have started it I wouldn’t fully recommend ‘Doro’s Loft’ as the instructions on certain parts are not well written with the way it has been worded, so it makes it confusing at times!
I am also having to adjust quite a few things due to this and also down to some of the parts supplied are not very good…for example the stairs are terrible to put together so brittle….so I have had to order something else to make the stairs.
It should still be cute once I have finished but it’s taking a lot of adjusting.

I bought this kit as a Christmas gift for my mum. It was well packaged and made an attractive gift.
Mum is an experienced crafter, but found this kit to be quite tricky. She enjoyed making it though, with the exception of the LED light which was so very difficult that she gave up. Also be aware that the batteries for this are not included. It would be so much better if the light was already wired together. We will replace it by winding a wire set of fairy lights around the roof grid.
My mum also said that some of the making is very fiddly and repetitive, like making the books.
It is a great kit and good quality which is why I give it 4 stars, but it’s a big job for a little kit!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tricky and LED light very difficult to wire up.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersIf anyone is looking for a nice way to keep their minds occupied while being stuck at home during this pandemic, I can certainly recommend this beautiful model (I purchased the greenhouse). Instructions are clear and concise, you also get two other pages that you can use to measure up your parts if you’re not sure that you have the right one. Most are pre-painted except for a few of the larger parts that encompass the flooring etc iirc. My kit came with two types of glue, latex and a type of liquid glue that’s unlabelled but seems to resemble UHU all purpose in how it behaves.

Would I recommend this to beginners? Well, probably not. There is a lot of intricate and detailed work to do. If you have zero experience with models, don’t expect this to be an easy ride, it will take many hours of diligent work and bucket loads of patience, the parts are small and require steady hands. If you have experience with crafts/arts/models, it will of course help but I imagine many would easily get frustrated otherwise.

Having said that, everything is there if you’re willing to take your time and have a go.. it’s worth every penny and I commend the modeller(s) who created this little work of art. The detail and intricacy in every part is truly gorgeous. I can’t wait to finally finish it and turn on that little light.

    Extra tools I’d recommend:

Small pair of scissors (possibly even surgical, some of the plant cutouts/leaves and other bits are that small)
    Hobby knife with various blades
Solid pair of tweezers (the ones in the kit are just about okay but you’d do well do have something sturdier)
If your kit doesn’t come with glue due to shipping restrictions, I’d recommend getting a good wood glue and UHU is good (but can be messy if you’re not nimble), some superglue wouldnt go amiss in certain applications either.

Other than that.. I think all you need is a good attitude to get it done!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful kit!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI have previously done the bookshop which was challenging to make for a somewhat clumsy crafting newbie but I adored it. So I bought another. This one is even more challenging to do! Very fiddly lovely distracting and engaging product which will fill hours of time. (It literally will take many hours). I have three negative points: firstly the English translation on instructions is sometimes very strange and unclear. This is compounded by slightly small and therefore unclear photos. Instructions could be improved. Finally -absolutely no ‘slack’ for errors or dropping tiny parts. No spares of anything whatsoever. What you need is included but not a single bit more than that so if you do mess up or lose a tiny piece (bead or whatnot), or cut the plastic ‘glass’ incorrectly, tough.

Tip: take only the smallest nib off the top of the glue when you snip it or it will pour out which is not helpful for such a delicate craft. Keep the flow very minimal. Also, Prut stick works well for some gluing and less messy.

Golden Review Award: 66 From Our UsersMy mum bought me this greenhouse for my birthday after I saw it on a buzzfeed list and fell in love.
It is very fiddly, and takes a long time, but is completely worth it!
Had some difficulty with the wiring, but that is purely down to the fact I’m quite clumsy in general. I was incredibly proud of every little peice I put together. Constantly sending my mum photos of each flower pot next to a 2p coin for scale.
Once it was all finally complete it was amazing to see something I had created.
The instructions are sometimes a little difficult to follow, but patience is needed. If you dont get a fold right, take a step back, move onto the next flower and go back to it.
This would be a fantastic present for anyone with a creative mind. You dont have to have a lot of free time, as you could do just a couple of hours a week, once its finished you will be so proud. It’s now at my mums house in her conservatory, she turns on the light at night and it looks just lovely.
I ordered Sam’s Study the week after I finished it (took me 4 months in all) and I’m half way through that now.
I intend to get all the kits eventually. My mum will have to put up more shelves!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly beautiful and well worth the effort.
