This OBD2 code reader has been a valuable tool for diagnosing issues with my car. It’s easy to use – simply plug it in, and it displays clear fault codes and their meanings. The compact size makes it easy to store in my glove compartment, and I like that it supports multiple languages. It’s compatible with a wide range of vehicles, making it a versatile choice.
This obd2 scanner is quite handy for you. It’s a very basic one but it works. It’s very light weight. Connection to the car is straight forward, just plug into the car and here you go.
It power up very quick. Navigate through the menu is quite easy. This scanner has all basic diagnostic features. You can remove dash light with the help of this scanner.
Exploring the capabilities of this tool brought a new level of insight into my vehicle’s health. Its intuitive design made it easy to access a wealth of information previously shrouded in technical obscurity. The diagnostic clarity it provides demystifies car maintenance, offering a bridge between expert knowledge and layman’s curiosity. This isn’t just about identifying issues; it’s about understanding your vehicle better. The ergonomic build and clear display further enhance the user experience, making car diagnostics less daunting and more accessible.
I got this for my husband to keep in his case so that he can read any engine error that could possible appear. He likes it. It is quite affordable, easy to use, and it is light as well.
He is quite grateful. He has nothad the chance to use it hopefully since we havent had any engine problems so I cannot really comment on the accuracy.
Entry level OBD 2 reader, has some basic functions for beginners and amateur, can come really handy if you have a check light on and want save trip to the m mechanic. Can do some basic reading and clearing, display is easy readable with the old style computer DOS style menu, lucky is really intuitive as could save some more on the price if avoid bother to add instruction. Comes in a compact carry on case
Pros:
1- The display has a classic look that I really appreciate, making navigation through the menus a breeze. It’s intuitive and user-friendly, which is a big plus.
2- It comes equipped with all the basic diagnostic features you’d expect. I specifically needed it to reset a warning light on my dashboard that was probably triggered by a glitch, and it did the job perfectly.
3- The size is just right. It’s compact and lightweight, not bulky at all. This means it fits easily inside your car, allowing for convenient storage and accessibility.
Cons:
1- The main drawback is that if you’re new to car diagnostic tools, you might find the initial setup a bit challenging. While I hoped for more comprehensive instructions to ease the learning process, the device assumes a level of familiarity with similar gadgets. That said, once you get the hang of it, it unveils all the necessary settings for basic car diagnostics efficiently.
This OBD2 scanner is really good for basic OBD functions. It is easy to read and easy to use. I will be using this more often in my MOT garage on cars that I am working on. Highly recommended.
This ODB2 code scanner is suitable for users with prior experience or a strong aptitude for interpreting the fault output codes. Although the instructions are rather lacking, it is relatively straightforward to use. Locate the ODB2 socket in your car (usually in the drivers footwell area below the steering column, although some models are in/behind the glovebox), plug in the device, and access any fault codes present. While pricier models offer code interpretation and problem summaries, this scanner is compact and fits neatly into a glovebox or toolbox. It serves as a handy tool when your car’s fault light activates, providing insight into potential issues. However, its ability to reset error codes depends on the fault’s location and your vehicle’s compatibility. Keep in mind that this device may not track intermittent faults. Considering its affordability compared to other automotive tools, it’s a worthwhile investment, though higher-priced options offer more extensive functionality.
This is a basic code scanner for your car light way easier to read display once connected to the car and the engine started. It turned on and was able to see if any fault codes were present (fortunately non-active) also shows car vinnumber RPM coolant temperature etc the instruction manual is not really helpful, so takes a while to understand everything it can do but this is ideal for initial fault finding.
This is a cheap device that lets you view any fault codes that may be stored in your vehicle. It’s a basic reader but works well and can also clear some types of codes. A bit of research on the internet will let you diagnose most faults and with garages charging up to 50 to read any fault codes this could save you some money.
It’s super easy to use. Just plug it into my car’s OBD2 port, and it reads any fault codes my car’s computer is throwing. No need to be a mechanic to figure out what’s wrong. The scanner itself is pretty small and lightweight, so I can easily store it in my glove compartment. The screen is clear and easy to read, and it even displays definitions for the codes, so I can get a general idea of what the problem might be. However, the instruction manual could be a bit clearer.
This is OK to use if you already have an good idea what you are doing, or a very good aptitude. The instructions are pretty poor, but basically, all you do is find the socket for it on your car, plug this in to look at any fault codes that may be evident on the car. Some of these more expensive devices can interpret the codes, and give a synopsis of the problem, but the price can be very high.
This is small and should fit in your toolbox, and if a fault light comes on in your car, you can use this to give a clue, and the code can be further researched on the internet which may help. It can be used to sometimes reset the error code, it depends on the location of the fault, and your car ,.
In cases where the fault is intermittent, a device like this it will not count the number of occurrences of the fault.
Some spanners can cost the price of this, so if you think it might help, it will not break the bank, but the more you pay, the more comprehensive the functions may be.
Recently we had an issue on my wife’s car, automatic Volkswagen Pol, – it was suddenly jerking, while the car was on the move. I brought it to the repair shop where they asked me to pay them straight away 70 just to scan the car and see what is the error. That price seemed to me a bit too steep.
Therefore when I saw this engine scanner with its could help me with my case. Using the device is quite easy and simple, all you need to do is to connect the OBD2 cable of the reader to the port in the car usually it’s located under steering wheel. The diagnostic tool has very simple and user-friendly GUI, so I was able to read the codes in no time. The code was related to some electrical issues so I directly contacted the car electrician to fix the problem.
It didn’t really help me to fix my problem and I will definitely keep this tool in my car for the future issues.
This may be a fairly basic OBD2 diagnostic code reader, but having located the port my car and connected it, it immediately turned on. I then switched the ignition on and it then enabled me to read various bits of information including the VIN number. Fortunately the car was not suffering from any errors so the unit was unable to read any codes.
The instruction manual is not particularly informative though and was not particularly helpful in understanding the various screens and what they actually do. Being novice in using one of these devices it is clear that I will have to look further on the websites to get a better understanding of best to use it in the future.
When I first got this it was priced at 25.99 but I now see it has been reduced to 16.99, so I guess it’s now even better value for money.
Overall it may come in handy if a warning light pops up on the dashboard to help understand what the issue could be.
This is a great scanner for the money, better to use than an app based item IMO. The unit is quite chunky and tactile, and the black colour won’t show the dirt which is useful. Once you have located the SCART-ish connector under your steering wheel somewhere you are good to go with the clear screen and generally intuitive interface, just as well as the instruction manual is poorly translated. Not as slick as some I have used but for (currently) twenty pounds this is a steal and apparently even women can use i
Plugs into the cars OBD socket and gives some pretty basic info about the engine and what that single ‘engine error’ amber light may be indicating and is handy for killing error codes once you KNOW you have fixed them. We are using it more for information and code killing rather than in a professional manner.
Impressive for the price and I can confirm, as proudly boasted in the product description, that it is as easy to use for women as it is for men – though I have no idea why it shouldn’t be. A somewhat anachronistic view on the world by their marketing folk!

My review is based around the current selling price of 25.99 plus 7 voucher
Summary:
“Easy for Ladies to use”, with a picture of a pretty girl looking cluelessly in her engine bay. Oh my god, I can’t stop laughing. Are they actually serious? Condescending much? As a cheap option showing engine error codes and for clearing this is a good option, but it has limited functionality past that.
Pros:
Clear LCD display
Simple button layout
Easy to use if you’ve used similar before
Cheap
Reads and clears some fault codes
Supports vehicles since 1996 and worked on my Mercedes 2016 C Class
Cons:
User manual is poorly translated. You’d expect much better, especially if they are aiming this towards “the little woman who doesn’t know much about cars”
Basic functions – things like ABS, Airbag and Service not supported
A compact durable entry level OBD port reader – perfect for reading error codes when you don’t have something like Carly (considerably more expensive)
Not being one to read manuals, the included documentation wasn’t really a sticking point
The only point my wife highlighted was the advert seemed to be rather sexist with the “easy for ladies to use”, does that mean for men it’s really difficult? Also the picture of a lady looking in the bonnet for I’m assuming somewhere to plug this reader to could be misleading as normally they are in the front footwell.
But all in all, a good entry level OBD port reader and will be very useful when you get a dreaded warning light in the ca
I didn’t realise this sort of gadget existed until my husband mentioned it. Its really useful for seeing what the check engine types lights actually mean on your car. It plugs into a socket under the steering wheel (or it does on my car) and then you can see the codes. It does come with instructions but i found them confusing. Hubby however was confident with it and managed to figure everything out. The screen is black and white but clear enough to see the text. I think its great to check if you need a costly visit to the garage or not and seems to do the job intended. You can also clear codes if you want to check if it is a problem or just a glitch. I do think you need to know what you are doing however and i wouldn’t of been able to figure it out just on my own.
This ODB2 fault code reader works fast and delivers results!
Although there is limited functionality compared to more expensive models it can detect and erase fault codes among all it’s features. Still, it displays enough information to diagnose from real-time data. Anyone could use this after following the instructions. It is a small device and could be stored in the glove compartment.
Excellent diagnostic tool. Worth every penny!
