This is definitely a “you get what you pay for” chair. I am six foot two, and weigh around 15 stone (210 pounds), and having tried other smaller and less expensive chairs, I chose this one. Also, as I am getting on in years, I wanted something with a decent seat height — which this chair has. I primarily wanted the chair for holidays in the UK, where I would be taking the chair on the beach etc. I also knew that I would not be carrying the chair for long distances, and so the weight of the chair was not a big consideration for me. It is on the heavy side, so look at all the information provided by the manufacturer.
The chair is well constructed, and feels very sturdy. It gives the impression that it will last a lifetime. I have found the chair to be very comfortable, and the recliner feature (although not something I specifically chose this chair for) works well, and is definitely something I would look for again. Although the chair has a high back, if I sit upright in the chair, my head still comes over the top. However, once reclined, I can rest my head back (and to my wife’s annoyance fall asleep).
The chairs arms are not padded at all. They are robustly constructed as they are integral to the recliner feature. They are made from some kind of man-made material, which makes them easy to clean and will therefore not rust. When sat on the chair for long periods though, I found the arms to be ‘uncomfortable’. However, my wife has promised to make me some wrap-around padding for the arms, that will fasten with Velcro. Maybe something for the manufacturer to offer as an option?
Overall, I would have to say that I am delighted with my purchase, and I wholeheartedly recommend this product. If, however, you are looking for a lightweight chair to go hiking with, then I would consider other options.
Great camping chair. Very comfortable with plenty of support. Fairly easy to put up and down once you figure out to do it! Great bonus is it reclines too. Seems to be very robust – only used a couple of times so far- but seems to be perfect. Not heavy either so easy to carry . Material seems to be of a high grade and seems very strong and supportive.
Only had this a couple of days, but have spent a bit of time sitting in it.
Very comfy with the seat part nice and deep (the pic makes it look quite shallow). I’m 6 ft and the back is high enough to rest my head on in any of the chair positions.
Yes, it’s a bit stiff to open which will probably loosen off a bit in time. Much rather have it this way than loose and floppy as loose stresses the components.
It’s quite heavy, so wouldn’t want to cart it far – comes in a sturdy carry bag with strap.
There aren’t that many high backed outdoor chairs out there. Don’t the designers understand that we want to sit there with our feet up?
Can’t vouch for longevity as yet.
Did a bit of research and checking out of camping chairs and decided to purchase these as good value, looked robust and liked how they folded. They are brilliant and would buy again. They were a great choice and well worth the money.
My mother is visiting and she likes to sit in the garden in the sunshine. Wanted a nice sturdy chair for her, got this one because I’m going to a few festivals this summer and figured I could also take it with me to those. Absolutely not, I am not a competitor in the world strongest man competition.
Is it sturdy? Absolutely. Is it comfortable? Yes, indeed. Do I think that it is worth the price? Probably, I’m not unhappy with that. Does it weigh a ton and is it stiff to fold and unfold? Unfortunately, yes. Great chair but it will not be leaving my back garden.
Wanted a solid heavy duty camping chair and these appear to be just that with a decent height of the back rest. I am a large 6 footer with a dodgy back but felt comfortable in the chair and the solid armrests, one of the reasons I chose this chair, helped when getting up. They are a little on the large side for carrying around but if you’re not going far doable. Folding and unfolding is a little bit stiff but should ease with time.
