This jig enabled me to build a house style cotbed with a brilliant finish, with nearly all joints concealed with strong pocket holes.
Easy to follow and great size.
Best price around!!
A complete set… I used basic spring clamps to hold in place to free up my hands.
A well built jig which does the job it’s made for. I’ve knocked off a star as the drill bit isn’t as sharp as I’d expect and the instructions aren’t the clearest although you can work it out after practicing on some scrap wood.
This worked exactly as advertised. Easy to use. Accurate outcomes. Very happy. Do not need the special screws as any good quality screw will do the job. I used Spax.
Innovative use of the magnet for adjustability which also adheres to the face clamp making resiting easier. Quality drill bit (treat it with care) and useful twin holes. Versatile bit of kit. You will need to buy extra screws pretty quickly
Pocket holes are not for everyone, but I’ve found them very handy sometimes. Not always.
Love this tool for hiding screws. Easy to use and provides a repeatable drill position. I could have done with some different clamping options but managed all my jobs so far.
Fairly easy to use once you work out how to apply the measurements – note they are different on each side depending on whether this is a new joint or a repair.
A great tool for joining 2 pieces of wood, but only for up to 38mm depth, and can be tricky to clamp securely. Immensely strong join, though – used it to fix together a heavy bed frame.
The trend video guide is useless – just a sales pitch. Searched on Google for better ones.
As a newcomer to the world of woodworking I wanted a way to make strong joints, but not spend a fortune on a ‘proper’ jig. Just make sure you have a clamp to secure the jig firmly to the wood.
The jig can be used for new projects and also for repairing joints – just flip the sliding ‘hook’ at the base and set the depth according to the easy to use markers on the side.
Just as a side note don’t use normal screws – the joint won’t be as strong as the screw will dig in and maybe split the wood, instead use pocket hole screws with flat/pan heads that will pull the pieces together.
This is an excellent bit of kit if you don’t want to get into the full pocket jig set up. I was working with 2×1 PAR softwood so I was in between the selectable gauge settings available on the jig, however after a few practice runs on some offcuts I found the perfect setting. It certainly pays to extend the pilot holes on denser timbers to avoid grain splitting. Other than that you can achieve a good strong joint in a fraction of the time it takes opposed to alternative methods.
