Our Moto G62 phones updated from Android 12 to 13 and android car play stopped working on our Toyota CHR mark 1. Toyota no help so I bought this adapter. Cancel ‘car multimedia’ on your phone as advised in the adapter instructions. The adapter connects almost immediately to the phone and Google maps and the usual car play aps are now available wirelessly. Result.
Great little thing, I leave this plugged into my cars usb all the time and when I get in my phone automatically connects to CarPlay without having to touch my phone/take it out of my bag or pocket. So handy and convenient, saves a lot of faff.
I did try using this in my van during the day (I’m a delivery driver for work) but found that this drained my phones battery very quickly so I would definitely say this is good if you are only using your car for short journeys / or plug it in to charge at the same time, for this I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 as I have to use my lead for CarPlay in my job instead unfortunately
This gadget has been a game-changer for my daily commute and work as a delivery driver. i am able to take my phone with me when doing delivery and it stays connected and I don’t have to waste time reconnecting if when I get back.
Brought this for my new car so I don’t have to have my phone attached via wired USB. Samsung Galaxy S4 Ultra connects to Android Auto within seconds of entering the car. Easy set up via Bluetooth settings in phone. No app needed. Little gem of a gadget!
