Good way to adapt USB-C dongles to standard USB 2.

First photo is a double-ended USB-C/2 flash drive in laptop usb2 socket. Second and 3rd are the same flash drive but usbC end to laptop via XSO adapter .. as might be expected the adapter throttles the data rates but it works just fine and if you device is USB-C only it lets you use that in a usb2 socket.

At 4.89 for 2 it’s a decent price – there are many others at around the same price point and this adapter is as good as any I’ve tested == and somewhat better looking 🙂

    Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Functions well enough. Good price, compact with nice metalic silver finish

This is great for use with older PCs that only have USB Type A ports. The quality looks good, however this will not be very fast at data transfers at 480Mbps.

I don’t have a huge amount to say about these – when you need to turn a USB-C into something that’ll fit easily into a PC, then these are your huckleberries. Great adapters, but they are in the end just adapters.

These are really useful, as more devices seem to be transitioning to a USB-C format. This allows for these devices to be plugged into devices that have few or no USB-C ports. They seem quite well-made and have worked with all the devices I have tried. My only real issue with them, and it’s not really a product issue, is that they are USB 2. Many competitors at the same price point are offering USB 3 adapters. I feel these would be a perfect purchase if they had a USB 3 version.

Nice little well built adapter to convert from USB C to USB A. The product feels well made, out of metal components and fits into both the USB C and USB A with a nice close fit.

Laptop picks up the device straightaway and works as intended.

Handy to have around when there are so many different leads lying around and sometimes not the right connection to plug one in.

    4 stars – Neat product.

These are really solid connectors that are very well built and excellent value for money. A USB-C connector will fit into the back of this adapter with a firm click giving it a really solid connection and it does take a bit of force to get it off again. To me that is signs of a very well built connector that is designed to fit really well.

Not only do these look great, they also perform great. As long as you have the correct cable, then these adapters allow both data transfer and fast charging. I read one of the reviews saying that these don’t charge, so I can only assume that they tested with a cable that didn’t support the fast charging, as in my testing they both worked absolutely fine for both data transfer and fast charging.

I have a older power bank which doesn’t have USB C only USB A, so this was a great cheap option of adding a USB C port to it. Works perfectly

Perfect Adapter for USB-C to USB-A devices and cables – Gamechanger for ensuring connectivity!

Scenario of a typical modern high tech home or commuter/traveller. You have or someone you know has a device that uses or comes with a USB-C connector or you multiple or ALLOT USB-C to USB-C cables at home or in a drawer, but your current computig device only has the older USB-A ports… what do you do, hunt around or give up?

TADA! PERFECT SOLUTION!! A USB-C (female) to USB A (male) Adapter from XSO! A gamechange and a must have for everyone in my opinion and the pack comes with 2! Super small, easy to stash away with your travel, commuter bag of cables or even in a drawer with you other cables!

No loss of functionality, great data transfers (at the rate that your USB-A ports can support of course), backwards compatable to older USB standards (like 2.0) as well as speed of charging your devices, just awesome USB-A to USB-C connectivy now without buying another set of the older USB cables or a cable that is actually USB-A to USB-C.
(hint hint it will save you money in the long end and they work great!) These do really work, work very well and super to have around when you need them.

Coupler is super small, easy to stash away in a bag/purse/backpack and simply works perfectly!

Coupler is metal so will last being carried about in a bag/purse/case etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Adapter for USB-C to USB-A devices and cables - Gamechanger for ensuring connectivity!

I also like the fact that they have a label on the silver casing of the connector signifying that it is a USB 2.0 adapter and also the maximum theoretical transfer rate you can get through this – which is 480 Mbps. If like me you have lots of connectors, this labelling is very handy as straight away you know exactly what this is and what it can achieve.

I have far more USB A outlets than I have USB C but I also have more C than A devices. These small adapters will mean that I will be able to plug my USB C stuff into my PC or chargers that have the USB A fitting. The listing does mention a couple of limitations, firstly the adapters don’t allow wireless charging. That’s not an issue for me at present because I don’t have any devices that can be charged wirelessly. Secondly the units are said not to support video signals. That was more relevant to me as I do have some vids on a couple of external hard drives and so I am keen to test if they will in fact play when these adapters are in the chain.

These are good little solid units and very importantly the connection into the adapter and the connection out from the adapter to the device are really strong which means that there is virtually no chance of things coming adrift when you least want then to. The passage of signals seemed to be unaffected by the unit being in the loop but these are only rated as protocol 2 and not the faster 3. As regards video I found that I was able to play standard definition and Full HD videos but not 4K.

Value wise these are not the cheapest convertors you will find and it should be possible to find a duo pack of protocol 3 adapters for a bit less than the cost of these and so I don’t think that they represent great value. However the firmness of the connections is a plus factor for these.
