A good idea, that works well. Can be used as a static ‘traditional’ photoframe or for viewing a slideshow, etc with a wifi connection to a mobile device. The screen is a HD 1080P resolution, touchscreen, allowing swipe and pinch notation, autorotate, etc. The dedicated app is a bit flaky but otherwise this can be highly recommended. NB – not rechargeable – requires a corded mains supply.
This is the first digital photo frame that I have got. This one comes securely boxed and looks very nice. In the box you get the digital photo frame, charging cable and 2 stands (one is spare). The frame you can have in portrait or landscape orientation also you can mount it on the wall if you wish. It’s quick and easy to set up and you can send photos onto it via an app from your phone (I have iPhone); also you can set up users such as friends and family who can then also send photos to the frame.
I’ve not yet figured out how to delete/remove photo from the frame; the only option I found was to hide which has to be done one photo at a time.
This digital photo frame is an absolute belter. At 10.1 inches, it’s the perfect size for showing off your snaps without hogging too much space. The 1280*800 IPS screen is a treat – your photos look proper brilliant on it.
It’s packed with features that’ll make your head spin. The 16GB storage means you can cram in loads of pics and vids. The WiFi and Frameo app make sharing dead easy – your gran can see your holiday snaps before you’ve even unpacked.
The touchscreen and auto-rotate are nice touches, and the matte black finish looks dead smart. For a digital frame that’s lovely, feature-packed, and has a great screen, this one’s the dog’s bollocks. Cracking gift for the family!
The Apveelveer 10.1 inch digital frame arrived very well packed in a professionally printed cardboard box.
In the box you get the frame itself, a removeable desk stand, a USB cable and an instruction manual.
This is a very high quality digital display frame and once setup performs very well utilising it’s built in timer function. Setup however, is not intuitive and takes a fair bit of time and technical knowledge to get the results that you want!
The frame can be wirelessly connected to a WiFi network and users added so that images can be sent automatically from anywhere using the Frameo app or it can have images uploaded directly into its internal memory or for maximum flexibility it can display images directly from either a USB stick or a SD memory card.
Once the images have been uploaded and the frame is running, it performs very well and the time between images can be set by the user. The frame will also switch itself on and off at a preset time.
Image and video quality are very high but I would suggest that this is very much a device for relatively advanced technology users due to the non-intuitive setup and I can see a lot of frustration if this is given as a present to elderly relatives or users not up to date with modern electronic tech.
We had a couple of digital photo frames many years ago when they were first popular, and also gave one to an elderly relative who loved being able to see family photographs on rotation. Things have certainly moved on since then, and with this frame it’s even possible for multiple family members to send pictures or short video clips directly by using the Frameo app. Picture quality is okay, though it’s worth noting that it isn’t as high-definition as the displays on better tablet devices.
Setting it up was fairly straightforward, and is simple for anyone used to using a smartphone. To make the most of the frame the user also needs a Wi-Fi available to them, which is unfortunate as we have a couple of elderly relatives now who don’t have internet but would really love something like this. However, in their case it is still possible to use this frame with an SD card like the frames from years ago.
I used to have a digital photo frame around 20 years ago but the display (along with digital camera and photo quality at the time) was not great. However, this WiFi digital frame shows how much things have moved on.
Firstly, pictures and videos are transferred to the frame via the Frameo app which is easy to download and log in to. One of the best bits about it is that grandparents and other family members living far away can connect to it and send pictures directly to the frame, or vice versa – you could send the latest pictures and videos of the kids to the grandparents’ frame, wherever they are.
Secondly, the resolution of the images is great and they appear bright and clear. When uploading via the app, you select which is the most important part of the photo to be centred in the frame so you don’t get any weird cut-offs. You also have the option to add a caption to each photo but I haven’t tried that yet.
Finally, I like that you have the option to wall mount or have it standing. I was a bit confused at first about the stand as it’s just a screw on black leg, but the frame stands up securely with this leg attached and you can have it in portrait or landscape.
Overall, I really like this frame and I’m considering getting a second one to send to the grandparents who live 300 miles away. Thoroughly recommended.
This digital frame comes well packaged and has one leg you screw into the back to hold it up on the mantelpiece or shelf you choose to put it on.
It requires being plugged in to remain on which I didn’t realise and it also needs an internet connection which I also didn’t realise until I got it. This has made it redundant at the moment since I refuse to plug another item into the mains electric until the price of electricity drops.
Once switched on it goes through a set up liken to a new phone where you set your language etc
Unfortunately I couldn’t get past the first few screens as I currently don’t have a landline WiFi which made this a huge disappointment to me as I wanted to have the pictures of my kids and dogs rotating.
The blurb says you can also set date, time and weather, but again, since I don’t have a landline based internet at the moment I couldn’t set it up.
I will say that I personally am unsure about having another item plugged in for several hours a day when the cost of electricity is very high and would have preferred a rechargeable frame which would’ve allowed me to take it with me on overnights away.
he frame’s design blends well with any decor and setting it up is pretty easy, no account needed. it’s nice that it supports USB and SD cards, and you can upload photos wirelessly with the app. the gallery mode is cool, letting you show off pics based on filters and preferences.
but, the resolution isn’t full HD (1080p) as per the spec advertised, though it say the right resolution in the title i.e. 1280X800 and the display feels a bit laggy. the power button placement is awkward, especially if it’s wall-mounted, and the app limits how many photos you can transfer at once. no WiFi control either, and it has to be plugged into the mains, limiting where you can put it. Also you can wake the screen up when it went to sleep.
looks good, but could be smoother to use.
PROS
-outer frame attractive (I have others that have only one layer of black frame)
-really useful for families who want to share photos
-app is easy to use
-nice, clear, screen, lots of resolution
-touch screen easy to use
-alerts when new photos are uploaded remotely
CONS
-only 32GB memory, that can fill up quickly (lucky I can plug in an extra card, but that’s an extra expense)
-a little bit of a faff to get set up and running (if you are giving this as a gift to, perhaps, older relatives, you may have to set it up for them)
-can’t bulk-upload photos
-foot that holds the frame up on a desk isn’t very robust
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
