What solar pump is right for my project?

Our solar water pumps are made for bird bath fountains, water features and small ponds.

If you need to create a bird bath fountain, my advice is to choose a 1.5W-4.5W pump. More powerful water pumps are suitable for small ponds and water features.

Does the whole solar panel need to have direct sunlight in order to work?

Solar panels are best in direct sunlight. But it with battery backup, so it will also work well in cloudy day.

Can the solar pump run without water?

Our pumps are all dry-run protected. This means as soon as the water level gets too low they will automatically shut off. This prevents the pump from being damaged due to low water level.

Does this fountain have a kit with battery backup?

Yes, but this solar water pump can’t work at night. The battery is to ensure that the solar fountain can work stably and continuously during the day.

How to contact Biling after-service?

It’s recommended to ask for help through your order page.

Very comprehensive kit for assembling your own pond fountain. Quite small, and the pump is basic and not that powerful, but as long as you have no illusions about creating a gushing waterfall, it’s pretty adequate for your average pond, and not bad value for money.

The 5ft pipe included in the package allows you to place the pump wherever you want. The pump I used before took water directly from the water and could stand on the surface of the water. This is ideal for different places. You can put solar energy in a more efficient place and flow water wherever you want. It has different heads and can change the sound and volume of the water.

This solar powered water pump arrived nicely and securely packed inside its carton box.

Firstly, it is very well made and looks pretty good quality overall. The pump is also not too difficult to put together as I managed to assemble it all within 5 minutes. There is a handy little instructions manual which was fairly easy to follow. You can set it up directly using the nozzle heads provided for a water fall like effect or use the hose pipe in a planter to form a simple water flow feature. The pump rotates the water nicely and looks really pretty in my garden.

The pump came with a rather large solar panel and also a fairly long cable which made it easy to place the solar panel away in a corner and under direct sunlight. The pump also only works during day light and therefore switches off automatically when its dark. The pump also stops working when there isn’t enough water available to rotate.

All in all, I am very pleased with this beautiful feature in my garden. Would highly recommend and easily rate it as a 5 stars product.

The built quality is good. It is small in size and lightweight. The design is modern. Feels durable to last longer. Perfect for a fish tank, small pond or fountain.

    Arrived well-packaged.
The price is slightly expensive in my opinion.

Overall, I am happy to own it and will recommend.

I am impressed. The fountain and solar panel were very easy to set up. Within 10 minutes of it being delivered I had it put together and took it out to the pond. The float holds it nicely on the surface of the water. Despite it being 7:30 pm and the sun was going down behind the roof of the bungalow the fountain started to work as soon as it was in the water and connected to the panel. I like that the solar panel is separate and it doesn’t take up as much surface area of my mini pond with the float as compared to my old fountain with built in solar panel.

I’ve had these in the past and found that these didn’t work well unless in total direct sunlight. Well this one is a lot better, not perfect but still better. It still needed direct sunlight but not like the others I’ve had. I thick its a good idea that this has a battery backup. so I’m giving it 4 stars as I like the quality of the materials and the different fitments you get, also the Batt back up.

A box of bits for building a solar powered fountain or off grid low volume water pump. In the set you get a nice quality solar panel with built in battery to give a little extra boost when the sky is grey or a few hours after the sun goes down. The pump is connected via a cable approx 4m and includes some filter sponges to keep the crud out and a run dry cut off. If wanted there’s a whole host of nozzles to give pretty spray patterns although I found these a bit hit or miss to match up – in the end I went for a trickling effect with an unregulated output. I used them to build a simple but effective water feature using a big tub and hefty pebbles. Shown in the video clip is the pump running on a very cloudy miserable day so probably the least volume output you can expect. If the feature is fairly static I would recommend some additional water purification to prevent algae buildup.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great little solar pump, it performs well and gives a good water flow for small water features and Its built in battery backup means once it’s charged up it doesn’t stop working when the sun disappears behind a cloud.I liked that it comes with a decent selection of fittings to give a variety of water bell, jet and spray combinations so if I grow tired of one type of fountain I can easily change it for another. It is also supplied with a length of clear flexible pipe that can be attached to the pump so I am going to have a go at making my own water feature using this. I comes with a decent qaulity solar panel with the usual ground stake that is adjustable for angle to catch the sun and It can also be attached to a fence or wall using the supplied screws and plugs. The pump itself has four rubber tuckers on its base to keep it secure or if the water is too deep it can floated on the surface using the foam disc supplied. It has the great feature of automatic shutoff if the water level drops so it is protected from the dry running that would damage it and when i tested this feature the pump stopped the instant it was removed from the water. The end of the pump is removable to access the impeller should anything get past a foam filter that simply fits into a pocket on the end of the pump. The pump does not have to be taken apart to change this filter unlike some others that I have, it can be carried out in seconds even without removing the pump from the water and Biling have also thoughtfully provided two spares. This only thing I would have liked would be to have had some way of controlling the water flow as some spray patterns are wider than others and some of the water can fall outside of a smaller water feature, reducing the flow would help to prevent this when using these.Overall I consider this to be a good choice for anyone looking for a decent quality versatile solar pump for a small pond or water feature and the relaxing sight and sound of it’s water fountains have brought added beauty and interest to my garden . I am happy to recommend it.

We have had a bird bath in our garden for manybyears, and often thought about adding a small fountain to add the sound of running water to it. The fuss over how to get a cable to it was the problem!
Now this product provided an easy solution to this, no electrical mains cable is required, you simply plug it together, make sure the supplied solar panel is in the sunformamgood few hours a day and you have a ware feature.
We have had other solar powered garden lights in the past, and I have to say that they have generally not stood the test of time. This is too new to comment, but given it uses rechargeable batteries, it is only fair to assume it will need a service or replacement in a year or two probably, only time will tell.

Considering that most pond pumps are 30W to 100W, you shouldn’t expect much from a 6W solar system.

Have installed this on the edge of our 12ft pond to add a bit of aeration to the water and have managed to place the panel in a more discrete location though it’s difficult to find somewhere both in the sun and hidden.

It’s Ok and as advertised but not earth shatteringly wonderful.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is more expensive than some solar fountains but this is worth the extra money – worked in cloudy conditions and has a battery
Larger unit and more solid – glass solar panel – all the bits and pieces are a muddle and instructions not good but it’s quite easy to figure ou
