I’ve used this as a transmitter and receiver and have had no problems using it in either situation. It paired straightaway with the devices I tried, sound quality was as expected, although, be aware, there is always a processing delay with Bluetooth, so watching video while wearing Bluetooth headphones will create lip-sync errors.

This is a superb little box of tricks. I got this to use on an aeroplane with the on board entertainment system to slow me to use my own Bluetooth headphones. However, I’ve come to realise that it is far more useful than just that. It has several connectivity options and allows either to receive or transmit over Bluetooth. It’s so easy to use, you simply plug the unit into a stand alone speaker and you can stream any music you have in your phone. Or you can use it as a transmitter and receive audio into and Bluetooth headphones. The unit is small and easy to carry and has a premium appearance. The battery lasts for a good long time. Excellent product and an easy recommendation.

It is easy enough to set up despite the lack of instructions. The sound quality is acceptable but unfortunately the volume is very low, as other reviewers have also noted.

The battery life is not as long as claimed, but is acceptable for a device of this size.

Setup was very straightforward – put the unit into pairing mode by pressing and holding the button, go into phone bluetooth settings and select the option to discover new devices. Select the device and you’re ready to do.
I used this to connect my Samsung Galaxy A54 to my Sony STR-DN1030 receiver. The audio quality was excellent, and there were no dropouts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up and use, and excellent audio quality.

Easy to set up and use, this works fine for occasional use, if your phone or ipad is without a jack socket. Sound quality on first listen is a bit average which is a shame, and be warned it does go very, painfully loud, so watch your ear health!

This bluetooth receiver/transmitted works really well. Pairing is straight forward but cans sometimes be tricky. Depending on what you are planning to pair to it can either be you turn the transmitter/receiver on first in pairing mode (by pressing a holding the power button) then the other device. Or do this the other way round. In my testing my speakers and TV were put into pairing mode and paired as soon as I put the transmitter into pairing mode. However with my headphones I needed to put the transmitter into pairing mode first then the headphone for them to pair.

Having used a few of these devices to use with radios or old speakers I have to say this is one of the better ones. While the UI is very similar this seems to work better. There is less “luck” with pairing. In terms of sound quality it sounds similar to any other of these types of devices. They’re not going to be the best you’ve ever head but at the same time I think it’s pretty good. I don’t hear any static.

I’m impressed with the build quality of this device. It a somewhat more premium feel compare to other I’ve used. I have yet to test battery life but I would be surprised if you could get 16 hours of out it. A lot of this will depend on the bluetooth version of the device you’re connecting.

Overall I’m very pleased with this device and recommend it.

I’ve got this Bluetooth transmitter and receiver to use with my TV So I could connect a set of Bluetooth headphones to my TV.
I have some hearing problems and I worry that at night I have the TV on too loud to disturb people. I thought an ideal solution would be to get some Bluetooth headphones and connect that to my TV.
I got the Bluetooth headphones but then realised my TV must be a bit too old because I couldn’t find a way of connecting them, So I spotted this transmitter and receiver for Bluetooth and thought I could connect it to my TV and then connect the headphones to that.
Unfortunately I was unable to connect this to my TV as none of the metal bits would fit. I’m not a very technical person and have no knowledge of connecting an item like this. There are a series of ports on the back of my TV That look like these should fit, But when I tried pushing them in they wouldn’t go. I gave up as I didn’t want to damage my TV.
Just so I could give a balance review for this item my daughter took it out and fitted it into her car, She said it worked perfectly with no problems And it comes with a range of cables. It’s a shame it wouldn’t fit but it’s not the end of the world as my son said he will be use it in his older project car.

This nifty gadget will allow you to Transmit or Receive Audio to or from a piece of Sound equipment.

Usually devices such as this either do one or the other, but this one is switchable so you can send Audio from say a Radio or TV and Receive it on another Bluetooth enabled device.

Alternativly it will receive Audio from from another source that’s being transmitted via Bluetooth.

I found it reasonably easy to set up, although I could not get it to work with all my Bluetooth equiped devices.

Unfortunately you often find it’s the case some things just don’t work whereas others do, often it’s the age of the item that causes problems.

It’s worth trying out though as when it works it’s a great device.

This could have been good but ..

    What’s in the box
    1 x SOOMFON 5.3 Bluetooth transmitter/receiver
    1 x 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack
    1 x 3.5mm audio cable
    1 x USB charging cable
    1 x User Manual

    Build quality
The build quality on the main SOOMFON 5.3 Bluetooth transmitter/receiver was very good, and everything felt very solid with a nice soft but positive click on all buttons

    Material quality
The materials used was again very good, and felt almost premiumish, which was really nice.

    Bluetooth connectivity
The BT5.3, was very stable when in use and only every now and then dipped out, but nothing too serious and only happened maybe once to twice at its work throughout the whole day whilst in use

    Microphone quality
The microphone quality was not perfect, as talking to others whilst using the microphone claimed that the volume was quite low and had a slight hum to it, this happened in several vehicles that I was in and using this function, along with whilst the SOOMFON 5.3 Bluetooth transmitter/receiver was connected to my phone at home.

    Battery life
Battery life, on the SOOMFON 5.3 Bluetooth transmitter/receiver wasn’t the best and only lasted 5 to 5 hours after it was charged fully

    Transmission Range
On testing this managed around 20 -23 feet before signal was lost.

    Issues
One very big issue was that no matter what I did/played the volume whilst using this was halfed when i compared it to my other Bluetooth transmitter/receiver unit that I have here.

If the volume wasn’t effected in the it was then this would have been an ideal Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and would have gotten a top star score from me, but the poor loudness of the volume is the deal breaker !!

3 out of 5 stars from myself

This arrives in a box which contains the transmitter/receiver, a 3.5 to 3.5mm jack plug, a 3.5mm lead, a charging cable and instructions.

I requested this as I have an older DAB radio that does not have Bluetooth. I listen to the radio when out in the garden working but I am always worried about the volume annoying the neighbours. I used the 3.5 to 3.5 jack plug and plugged it into the radio’s headphone socket, see attached photographs. It paired with my earbuds at the first attempt.

At first I thought there was a problem as the volume on my Sony ear buds was very low and I had the volume at maximum on the earbuds, the radio and the transmitter. To test I switched to a cheaper pair of earbuds and the volume level increased tenfold, so I think the volume level will depend on the sensitivity of the headphones/earbuds you are using.

With everything now working properly I can leave the radio on the patio and work around the garden with no problem, even down at the bottom of the garden I had no drop outs.

In conclusion I am very pleased with this device as it works as stated and gives me the opportunity to have the radio a little louder without annoying the neighbours.

I hope you found this review helpful.

This was used to connect mobile phone/tablet audio to an old retro hifi separates, works seamlessly, bluetooth 5.3 provides solid uninterrupted connection between phone and amplifier. You will need your own RCA to Audio 3.5mm jack cable though. You only get a usb charging cable and an 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack.
Very happy with this bluetooth transmitter.

I have to admit, I’m a technology dinosaur and had to ask my stepson for help with this. This is not a criticism of the device, I’m just not techo-minded and couldn’t even tell you what bluetooth is.

What I can say about it is it works and the sound is good, Yay!

I first tested the Bluetooth transmitter/receiver in receiver mode and you can see from the video it worked fine.

Then I tried and tried to test it in transmitter mode, but neither my phone nor my tablet could find the Bluetooth for the device in transmitter mode, so I was unable to test it for transmitter mode.

All in all the receiver mode is the one that will get used most anyway, and generally receiver mode is used to make a dumb amplifier/speaker Bluetooth accessible.

I can’t actually think of a use case for transmitter mode. The receiver mode worked fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great in receiver mode but could not get transmitter mode to work

Here we have a rechargeable bluetooth transmitter/receiver.
It comes in a generic cardboard box which does not give any indication as to what is inside, so it would not be great on either a shop shelf or as a gift.
It comes with a few accessories:
Charging lead, 3.5mm-3.5mm jack, and 3.5mm lead.
It has several controls on it:
    Volume control
    Play/pause/on/off
    Receive/transmit switch

I will be using this so I can use my bluetooth speakers with a device that doesn’t have bluetooth.

Pairing it was easy, I just switched it on, put my headphones in to pairing mode, and it connected!
The sound started out very quiet. This is a normal (if frustrating) feature of a lot of these transmitters – unless you turn the volume all the way up, it will be very quiet!

The device is obeying the play/pause button on my headphones, turning muting and unmuting the audio. however the volume buttons don’t seem to do much.

It’s a lot smaller and better than others I’ve had, with fairly low lag on it. I have it plugged in to a microphone monitor, and while there is a little lag – it’s not enough that I’m completely put off by my words coming through my headphones a while later, and I can watch films without the lips moving at the wrong time.

I have a laptop where the speakers have degraded and just don’t work well any more and that doesn’t have Bluetooth. I had been using a my Bluetooth speaker and a wire connection to that but having to swap the wire from what I normally use it in and having it all attached to the laptop is just a nuisance.

Using this to transmit from the laptop to the speaker has been flawless. I just put both units in pairing mode, they instantly connected and have stayed working ever since. Great solution and nice they give you the extra cables and attachments too in case you need them. Seems great value for what it all does.

One thing to note is that before attempting to pair, make sure you disconnect your headphones from your phone. Just press and hold the power button on the unit for a couple of secs and it should work fine. In just a couple of seconds later, the blue and red flashing light will turn to just blue — that’s it, all paired and useable.

Three is hardly any lag on the sound either. If there is, most modern TVs etc can be adjusted to sync the picture withthe delayed sound now anyway. It worked perfectly for me.

This works as well as expected, if not better.
