Within seconds of first using the bat , the batteries became so hot that I burned my fingers trying to eject them.
On the plus side , it has certainly alerted me to the fact that these little AA batteries can be really dangerous !
Several days on and I can now say that the customer service has been really excellent . I have not received the replacement yet , but hope that it will live up to the quality of the service !
This is a good and robust fly zapper that is slightly above the usual standard that you see sold for these things. I’m not a great fan of killing flies this way but needs must in the warmer months when it seems impossible to get the things back out the windows and doors they flew in!
Simple of use and will probably get a lot more use as the season progresses but they do the job. Batteries needs are 2x AA which are not supplied.
Seems a light on the expensive side when comparing to similar zappers but if it continues long service then it will have been worth it.
I wasn’t sure about it at first. A giant electrified tennis racket? It seemed a bit barbaric. But let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer. The first time I zapped a fly, well, let’s just say there was a satisfying crackle and the fly was no more. It sounds grim, I know, but trust me, it was the sweetest revenge after weeks of torment.
The swatter itself is surprisingly lightweight and easy to use. It takes AA batteries, which isn’t included, a bit of a pain, but not a dealbreaker. The handle is comfy to grip and there’s a safety switch to prevent accidental zapping — which nearly happened to me once, not gonna lie. One zap usually does the trick, though some particularly robust flies needed a double dose.
It’s not perfect, mind you. The zapping sound can be a bit off-putting, and those with a nervous disposition might find it a bit too much. Also, you do need to be a bit careful not to zap yourself — trust me, it’s not pleasant. But overall, the LBuzbug Electric Fly Zapper has been a lifesaver this summer. No more dodging flies, no more sticky fly traps, just a quick zap and they’re history. If you’re at war with the flies this year, I highly recommend giving it a go.
This item works well and is quite satisfying to use in a bizarre way.
Using this electric swatter rather than a typical squash-type swatter has certainly saved mess on the walls (and we’re still just very early into the mosquito season).
It has a large head so you don’t have to be incredibly quick and reactive like you do with a manual swatter too – there’s room for slower reflexes with this one and it’s still just as deadly.
It’s a shame that there were no batteries supplied as for the price (currently 13.99) you might perhaps have expected batteries to have been included (I appreciate that this means different shipping requirements in some places). To be fair it’s clearly sold as excluding batteries.
The swatter is lightweight and sturdy enough – not brilliant but strong enough – if you mis-swat and end up whacking your wall unintentionally then this is not going to last very long and it feels quite brittle plastic and the protection mesh is not the strongest. However, it’s strong enough and so far reliable and accurate.
Compared to the competition it’s about average in price as there are cheaper options out there (which I have not tried and can’t vouch for). Overall it’s 4 stars from me, saves mess on the walls but the downside is another item to store which is larger than an old fashioned squatter and something else which requires batteries.
This swatter is a step above the cheaper ones found at your local supermarket.
I liked the size and square shape, enabling you to get close to walls to make your kill. Also, having such a large head puts the odds in your favour when trying to swipe those larger flies out of the air.
The build of plastics is good and the whole bat is quite hefty, weighing in at 275g, including the 2xAA batteries you will need to supply and insert. The fact that it is quite hefty will make the weaker wristed killers more slow while hunting down their prey.
When you do get your kill, you are rewarded with a nice crack and bright white spark, and also smoke if you keep your finger pressed long enough!
Overall, this does the job, its heft lets it down, but also makes it quite robust.
I would have liked a few additional features, especially at the current price of 16
– No hanging hook
– No rechargeable internal battery
– No torch light for night time mosquito hunts
