Love these lights, I wanted to keep them up after Christmas!
They have a lovely glow and are a bit different being ball type lights.
We always had them on the same setting but you can change as the mood takes you.
I’ll definitely recommend these.
Really pleased with the quality and functionality! These lights have been lit so far for 16 hours a day for 1 month. The twinkle setting is beautiful and retains the setting when turned off on the remote control.
They arrived tightly jammed into the box and needed untangling to start. Four of the lamps had lost their globes but there were 3 loose globes in the box. I concluded the globes were not necessary for weather-proofing and installed as received. They proved to be a very effective decoration to the front of my house during Christmas (2 weeks) and later I glued the globes back to 3 of the “bulbs” using super glue (cyanoacrylate). Time will tell whether this proves adequate. The remote is small and a bit fiddly but comes with a button cell battery and worked well over a very short range (about 1 metre).
I’ve not used in anger yet, as i’m going to string them up outside as part of my christmas decs, but i have had a good play with them, and they are going to look fantastic in my tree.
The colours are nice and bright, and the remote is a lot of fun, and if you use outside, saves you going out into the cold to change them.
Also the timer is very useful, i normally use one of those timer plugs with the little pins, this is so much less hassle!!
the bulbs are quite small, the seller pics make them look huge, they are maybe a smidge smaller than a 10p coin or maybe a large 20p.
one thing to note, whilst you can use them outside, they need to be plugged in inside, so you’ll need to feed them through a window or something, i dont think the plug would fit in a waterproof extension lead or external socket, i think it would be too long.
These are excellent outside lights. Thay are well made and, because they do not have multiple ‘icicles’, they won’t get nearly so tangled when put away for the following year.
There is an option on the remote control for the bulbs to gently phase on and off, which is much more pleasing than the harsh and abrupt flashing that one more commonly sees.
When using the remote, we find it needs to be pointed directly at the plug and held just a few inches away. Not a big problem, but be aware that the remote only has a very short reach.
One customer review is unfairly critical in claiming these are not outside lights, because the plug is not weatherproof and needs to be connected to an indoor plug socket. Well, the same point applies to every other set of domestic-use outside Christmas lights I have ever seen, so the scathing, and unfair, two star review should be ignored.
Quite how these lights can be manufactured and distributed for under 20 (low cost Chinese factories, presumably) is amazing. Probably best not to ask too many questions about employees’ working conditions.
Great value and unreservedly recommended.
These are the kind of Christmas lights I’ve been trying to find for years.
When you first get them out of the box, the initial impression is that they might be pastel shades and nothing special. But unravel them and wait until evening… them turn them on. They are just magical and the colours clear as can be.
I always missed the the subtlety of Christmas lights of the kind we had when I was a child. There was something warm and inviting about them which has been somewhat lost in recent years. Harsh LED, in strictly four colours, seem to be everywhere (strange, considering that how modern technology could actually unleash thousands of different colours).
Well, these have five colours, which is a small step forwards. However, it’s the simplicity of the little globes and their unfussy, cheering hues that really make these special. They are a bit like miniature versions of the festoon lights you see outside pubs. You can even dim them if you want, to one of four levels. And if chaser lights are your thing, there are seven different patterns to choose from. I like mine to be on steady but that’s just me.
Very happy to recommend these.
