This Darth Vader 27″ toy is a great find for any Star Wars fan! It has so many cool features, sounds, and even a disc launcher…along with a lightsaber! The breathing sounds are really cool and lifelike. This will make for hours of fun for all kids!
This thing is amazing, and looks great in my son’s room. This would be an awesome birthday present or gift for Christmas, it would certainly draw attention under a tree. My six year old absolutely loves it, but this would be a great toy for younger kids too. I especially like that there is storage for his other toys in Vader, so he’s taking up a lot of real estate because it’s so big, but it’s also keeping other things organized. The lightsaber and breathing sound effects are perfect. This is a really cool toy that sparks the imagination, especially for young Star Wars fans.
I’m not sure who liked this toy more, the kids or the adults!
This Dart Vader bot is quite tall, sturdy and grabs your attention, no matter the age!
It shoots out little discs, fairly gently I might add, has various sounds, lighting and a ball which also shoots out of the hand area but again, gently!
It’s not inexpensive in so far as toys go, but for that special toy as a gift for a special event or day, this toy rules! Five very easy stars.
I ordered this for my 4-year-old nephew whose dad is a major Star Wars fan and it was a huge hit.
The size is incredible and the my nephew loves all the features.
The lights and sounds are cool, right out of the movie.
The action features are engaging and keep my nephew entertained for as long as he is allowed to play with it.
There is a ball launcher, disc launcher and retractable light saber.
It goes great with the large Imaginext R2 D2 bot that my nephew also has.
Highly recommended
Great Darth Vader playset. This playset is very tall and didn’t take long to put together. Quality of product is great and everything functioned as expected. Even if your don’t plan on playing with it, it makes for a great Star Wars piece to display. Overall, very happy with this play set.
This is the toy you did not realise you needed! A 2-foot-tall Darth Vader bot and shoots stuff!
The toy is impressive at 2 foot tall. Features include Extendable Lightsaber, Disc Launcher and a ball that can be launched/dropped from the hand.
A smaller diecast storm trooper is also included that can be stored inside Vader when not in use. It has all.
the lights and sounds you would expect from a fisher-price toy.
While the toy states ages 3+ I do not recommend it for 3+ year olds. Wait until they are a bit older.
As impressive as it is, I suspect this is reserved for the true Star Wars child fans given the price.
Attention grabber – a tall toy with effects. The age rating 3yrs+ is not to suggest this is a toy for pre-schoolers but rather the legal requirement set as “not suitable for small children”. At what age do kids see Star Wars and not get frightened? My 6 year old grandson asked us to switch off after a certain scene and prefers shorts over movies anyway. Yet he likes this toy – it makes noises and does things like shooting discs.
I do wonder how long the amusement will last, especially in competition with other toys he has and will get. He gets more fun with action figures 9<15 inches tall - he can carry them around and bash them together in "fights". Darth Vader here is a solitary figure.
I mention these points because of the price - to invest this amount of money in something that may be time limited affection for and not get a return by selling on is a consideration.
At first, discovering the movements possible (sabre/disc firing) and sound effects gets all the attention. Eventually I think it will stand in the corner as a model, too big for a shelf.
This was a birthday present for my son’s 7th. He loved loved loved it! But it is very big and rather noisy. It is sturdy and robust, good quality. Just be aware of size and sound!
As a 54-year-old manchild I absolutely had to have this to add to my collection when I saw it up for review. Really– I mean who would not want this giant 27-inch-tall Darth Vader robot? This not only appeals to my inner manchild but also to my movie’s fandom, my figure collecting habit and my love of giant robots from the cartoons back in the early 80’s.
Vaderbot comes already installed with 4 AAA batteries and is already turned on for demo mode so people can try it out while it is in the box. Vaderbot stands 27 inches tall and is a big/bulky toy that is nicely detailed to include cloth cape. His articulation is not the greatest as he only twists at the neck about 1 inch in both directions and waist about 2 inches in either direction, his lightsaber arm pivots at the shoulder and his cannon arm pivots at the elbow only, his legs are fixed with no movement.
The chest launcher does jam up every now and then with 3 discs loaded, and if you load more than 3 discs into it, it will jam up every time, so no more than 3 discs should be used, the other 3 are extras in case you lose the ones you are using. The discs fire about 2 feet and do not have much force behind them. The arm cannon is spring loaded and fires about 1 foot and again there is not much force behind it. The lightsaber is spring loaded and is operated by a button on his arm and when pressed will release the saber plus light up and make the appropriate sound for the action. Vaderbot’s eyes light up and almost every movement like twisting the head and waist will respond with sound effects.
The stormtrooper pilot on Vaderbots shoulder twists either left or right with 1 being the disc launcher operation and the other just being some great Star Wars sound effects. When the disc launcher is activated, there is no stopping it, it will fire all 3 disc 1 at a time until the cycle is finished.
Overall, I absolutely love this Vaderbot, I wish they had toys like this when I was a child, I would have loved it back then.
The Dark Lord of the Sith from Fisher-Price is impressive, standing over 2 feet tall. Typical Imaginext chunky durable quality…It includes a metal stormtrooper character “key” that you place on the big figure and turn to implement certain actions. To boil it down, there are really three key aspects to this figure: the extending lightsaber, the disc shooter, and the ball launcher. There are lights and sounds otherwise, but that is the gist of the activities. That considered, and looking at the price tag of a hundred and fifty bucks, I would say this guy is a bit overpriced. To really make use of a figure like this, you need other figures like this, enemies or friends to interact with, and as far as I know, there aren’t any, so this toy is rather limiting. For a huge young Vader fan, or the adult collector who has to have everything Vader, it’s a more compelling buy, but honestly I think it’s a great toy that a young fan would love, but the price puts it out of reach for many.
This is really cool. The red ball goes into the left hand. I was worried about how it would shoot out. But it shoots downwards and maybe a little over a foot? The arm only goes up so far to prevent any further upward shooting. The light saber arm can stretch up more. You push it in and there’s a red button to push. Just don’t stand directly in front of it as it pops out once you push the button. The saber lights up and there’s some noises. The disc’s load up in the back. There’s a little spot to slip them in. You twist the little red latch on the left shoulder to activate that. It opens up the chest panel, lights up, makes noise and will shoot out 3 of the disc’s. The disc shooter can and will get stuck. You will know because it makes an awful noise. Darths eyes light up and he makes his breathing noises and theres other sounds. He does not talk. The head and torso can be moved side to side. There is a little storage compartment on the back of a leg. The cape is cloth. It’s good quality and durable but for the little it does I would recommend waiting for a sale price
My daughter has for some time be a fan of Star Wars and particularly some of the iconic characters so this Darth Vader was surely a real winner. Really impressively made, pretty interactive and with a few eye catching light and noise effects.
The tall figure is actually very stable considering proportions and even after a couple of not too gentle tumbles it is still going strong and free from any damage.
But at 140 it is a bit expensive and for the vast majority it is a pretty large lump of moulded plastic
Growing up I have always loved to watch the Star Wars movies and I always knew when I got a little son for myself, I would introduce him early. My son who is turning four in a couple of months has been watching Star Wars movies with me since he was one and when I saw this pop up in my feed, I knew this would make the perfect gift for him.
Darth Vader himself is massive. He stands at about two feet high! Which is almost as tall as my four year old. The figure itself has some weight to it as well so it is not too easy to tip over which is good for him and his age. It has a number of features that really make it playful from light up functions, projectile launches and even comes with a cape that is good quality material. I may actually start playing with this myself or at the very least play with it together with my son. Love it!
