I’ve only had this model for a few days and I absolutely love it. Excellent design. Convenient magnetic attachments (fill light & filters). Charges via USB which I love! It’s one less thing to worry about packing in my gear bag. Based on my test shots, it produces wonderful bright results! I haven’t tested the battery life yet, but I believe it will withstand any event. Definitely worth the money.

(I was previously using the V860III and felt I needed an upgrade)

This is a high quality LED based camera flash that can be used with Canon EOS cameras. I used this with two of my cameras (Rebel t7 and Mark ii e50) and was impressed with its fast and good lighting performance.

The flash is LED based and unlike the old style with old bulb technology the GODOX V1 Pro can flash 100 times in a row before timing out for thermal protection. The recycle time is very fast at 1.3 seconds and produces far less heat then non LED flashes. The 1/8000 HSS allows for high speed photography and great for many different applications.

As per my experience the high CRI of the LED flash allows you to use it in pretty much any situation and produces soft warm lighting around 3800-3900K. The fill/bounce flash is a detachable device that provides added value to the already feature filled main flash. There is a 10 step model light that is useful for portrait or object photos.

The main flash has buttons and control wheel below the backlit LCD display and is easy to operate. There is a TTL/M switch which makes operation much easier when going between manual.

The round head on the flash casts the light in a wide area and evenly without sharp highlights or reflections.

The lighting is far superior in colour rendering compared to old style flashes however LED does not seem to have the same penetrative ability compared to xenon or other HID bulbs.

The weight is fair for a flash and takes a bit of getting used to on an already heavy camera body. The weight is definitely a step forward compared to the old rectangular incandescent options.

The product is easy to charge having an included USB-C cable and charger. The total flashes depends on level and length however is generally over 100 flashes.

Great value for such a well made and high quality flash that can be used by amateur and professionals due to its ease of use. This flash will enhance the phots taken on a dSLR Canon EOS camera compared to the built in stock flash.

    la funzionalit wireless “X System” a 2.4GHz e 32 canali che consente capacit master/slave per l’utilizzo di flash, trasmettitori, ecc. fino a 4 gruppi contemporaneamente (A,B,C,D);
    parabola interna che consente una copertura da 24 a 105 mm;
    durata del lampo da 1/300 a 1/20000 di secondo;
    fino a 100 flash continui a piena potenza senza problemi di surriscaldamento (caratteristica migliorata del Pro);
    luce pilota a led regolabile in 10 livelli di intensit;

    Buon divertimento!

    Davvero un ottimo prodotto.

I recently added the GODOX V1ProC for Canon to my photography gear, impressed by its reputation for quality and versatility. Here’s a detailed review of its features, performance, and overall value based on my experience.

    Build Quality and Design:
The V1ProC flash feels robust and solidly constructed, reflecting GODOX’s commitment to quality. There are no noticeable manufacturing flaws, and the unit exudes a professional-grade presence that instills confidence in its durability and reliability during shoots.

    Features and Functionality:
This speedlight is loaded with features that cater to both amateur and professional photographers. It supports full auto ETTL, allowing for automatic exposure settings which is great for fast-paced environments, as well as fully manual controls for those who prefer precise manipulation of their lighting effects.

    Wireless Control:
Compatibility with the GODOX 2.4 GHz wireless system significantly enhances its flexibility, making it easy to integrate into an existing setup and control remotely, which is invaluable for complex lighting setups.

    Light Quality and Modelling Light:
The round flash head is a standout feature, producing a beautifully even and soft light pattern that enhances portraits and stills with a more natural fall-off. The inclusion of a modelling light further aids in pre-visualizing how the flash light affects the subject, which is particularly useful in studio settings.

    Unique Sub-Flash Feature:
A unique addition is the detachable sub-flash, which mounts to the front and provides additional fill light. This feature is not commonly found in other flashes and offers enhanced creative possibilities, especially in portrait photography where fill light can soften shadows and reduce contrast.

    Battery Life and Performance:
The included rechargeable battery offers exceptional performance, capable of delivering 100 consecutive flashes at full power with a recycle time of less than 1.3 seconds. High-speed sync capabilities and a dedicated power port add to its professional performance credentials. The switch between ETTL and manual settings is streamlined by a dedicated button, optimizing usability during fast-paced sessions.

    Charging Convenience:
USB-C charging is a modern touch that aligns with the latest technology standards, ensuring quick and efficient power replenishment. This feature is particularly beneficial for photographers who need to quickly recharge between shoots.

    Conclusion:
The GODOX V1ProC is an outstanding flash for Canon users, offering a rich set of features that meet the demands of both casual enthusiasts and seasoned professionals. Its build quality, performance, and unique features like the sub-flash and modelling light make it a top contender in its category. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enhance their photography with a reliable, high-quality lighting solution. Whether in the studio or on location, the V1ProC is capable of transforming your photographic results.

This Godox V1 V1Pro C Flash for Canon Camera is great quality and better than I had hoped. It’s definitely an upgrade on the earlier model and the detachable fill light component SU-1 is fantastic as essentially means you have two light sources. SU1 can be used as a fill light, catchlight or for lifting shadows whilst using the main head as a bounce flash to get the perfect shot. It’s lightweight, great rechargeable battery and plenty of features for even the professional photographer. It’s great value compared to other speedlights if you need this level of flash. So if you have the budget it’s great but if you don’t need all the features the original V1 may be best.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 light sources and great value for spec

GODOX makes some really great photography equipment and this V1ProC (Canon) flash/speedlight is no exception. It looks and feels very solidly built and there are no manufacture issues to note. The specs are in the seller page but this one has al the bells and whistles from full auto ETTL to fully manual settings. It also works with the excellent GODOX 2.4 GHz wireless control system for flexibility in use. The round flash head produces a very nice light pattern and it also include a modelling light. Even further to this it includes a detachable sub-flash that mounts to the front for additional oil lighting, a unique feature. With it’s included rechargeable battery this is a performance powerhouse offering 100 consecutive flashes at full power, less than 1.3 seconds recycle time, high speed sync, a power port and a dedicated button to quickly switch between ETTL and manual settings. The USB-C charging is the latest and works nicely to refuel you battery. This is arguably one of the best flashes I this category and I would recommend it to amateurs and professionals alike.

Review for: “Godox V1 V1Pro C Flash for Canon Camera TTL Speedlight, 1/8000 HSS 500 Full Power Flashes, 1.3s Recycle Time, 2.4G Wireless with External Flash SU-1 for Canon EOS Cameras(Godox V1-C Upgraded, V1Pro-C)”

I am fans of Godox flash eco system. I have Godox flash: TT350, V860, V1, AD100PRO, AD200PRO and triggers and modifiers.

As a Godox V1 user, I am curious to try what do they improve to the already very good V1.

This is the new things they improve in V1PRO compared to V1 in order of the most significant first:
    1. Enhanced heat dissipation to allow more consecutive shoot before the overheat protection kick in. It almost doubles the number of consecutives shot (now up to 100 shots), depend on many factors such as power output, ambient temperature etc. It makes me more confident to use flash and not worried about missing a moment due to overheat or flash refuse to trigger.

    2. Better Modeling light. The LED light is now improved with better CRI from CRI 87.8 to respectable CRI 97.3. It also little bit bright from 3282 Lux to 3525 lux @ 13 inches. The color temperature is also slightly change from 3280K to 3383K. R9 also improved from very low 16.5 to 84.5.
What it means to me, the Modeling light now is more usable for photo / video use because it produces more rich and vivid color especially for RED color (because R9 is now very high).
I don’t use modelling light before, but now I start using it and I like it.

    3. Improved color cast. As long time V1 user, I feel the V1Pro is having bit better and more natural color cast. It is easy to adjust on Lightroom, but for what it is now SOOC, it looks better for me. They probably change the front element little bit, that is also why the modelling light has slightly different color temperature (little bit cooler).

    4. V30 battery VS V26 battery. It comes with V30 battery with build in USB-C charger. The power / Wh is only slightly different but the build in charger means a lot for me. I don’t have to carry the small charger that easy to misplace or forgotten. The good thing is those 2 batteries are compatible, so it can be exchanged without any problems.

    5. Dedicated switch for TCM/M. I use the TCM/M switch a lot. Just trigger TCM for measuring and switch to M when I got the correct power. It is now much easier to switch from TCM to M vice versa, without having to se the LCD screen and press the tiny button. I wish they add more and more switch as: Turn on / off modelling light. Button for + /- exposure compensation.

    6. Detachable external flash SU-1. The ideas is good. But the implementation if not perfect. I have a hard time to attach the SU-1 into the flash body, until I got the trick. I think I almost damage the body when I tried so hard to push it from top. Later I know I just need to slightly slide it from front to back (instead of from top to bottom). Once you know, it is not a big deal. Now the deal breaker for me is the SU-1 flash is independent to the main flash. meaning that there is now way for the camera to balance between the main flash and the fill flash (SU1). We need to change the setting of the fill flash manually. It is more cumbersome to use than the flip white card that build in on most of the square flash.
So for me, it is nice to have, just in case needed for some situation but not count it as feature improvement (until it can set to TTL automatically with the main flash).

    7. Extra port for PB960 power pack. It is the less useful addition for me. Because I’d rather bring extra V30 in my pocket than being this clunky attachment. But this might be a very important feature for others, YMWV.

    8. The new pouch has little pocket outside to put the mini stand. Very nice thought. I often misplace this item and miss it when I need it.

Is V1Pro ($329) worth the extra money compared to V1 ($259)?
It depends on how you value the differences (point 1 to 8 above).

For those who are not familiar with Godox V90 this is my short summary:
Godox V1 is a 76 Ws flash that powered by rechargeable and detachable Lithium-Ion battery (V26). It is a big leap improvement compared with the old-fashioned flash powered by AA batteries.
It gives faster recycle time of 1.5s and about 480 full power shots.
It has round fresnel head compared to tradition squared head with magnet mountable accessories (AK-R1 kit is highly recommended).
It deploys fast hot shoe mount lock that is much easier to use than the traditional rotational screw.
It supports TTL, TCM, HSS, and function as Master or Slave on Godox trigger eco system.

For those who are not familiar with Godox eco system, this is my summary:
I started with canon, Nikon and Sony. They have their own dedicated flash and dedicated ecosystem, including the remote trigger and control.
And their flash and ecosystem are very expensive.
Then come the era from third party that introduce their ecosystem that offer interchangeability between flash regardless of the Camera system.
One of the pioneers and the most successful one is Godox. They are the first 3rd party brand that offer a very good quality with very affordable price.
I can have most of my Godox flash to be used to different camera brand.
I just need to buy trigger (transmitter) for respected brand (eg. Sony, Nikon, Canon) and still use my flash (V1, AD100, AD200 etc.) and use it with that brand without having different to
I can even use my Nikon native flash with Godox Nikon Receiver and triggered it from Sony Camera with Godox Sony Transmitter. It is not ideal, but it is still doable.
In summary the Godox ecosystem is a software and hardware layer to interface between supported brand and Godox Hardware (Flash, LED etc).

    Hope this review helps.

This is an awesome flash. Godox listened to their customers and created a flash that alleviates a ton of hiccups present in other speedlights. It isn’t more powerful than other flashes – but the design is way more thoughtful.

The Errors: The title says 500 full power flashes. It is 100 full power flashes. One of the pictures shows a battery charger (VC26). This was not included with the flash, and is not needed as the battery and flash have built in charging ports.

The round head is great for a full circle flash pattern. It also works really well in softboxes and umbrellas for even light. I like that other round head accessories fit in it.

The battery is very clever. It has a built in USB-C charging port which means I don’t need to pack/carry a dedicated charger. This is so nice. I do wish it was consistent with other previous Godox models. Now I have another battery to keep track of.

The M/TTL switch is awesome. Now you can shoot TTL and then flip to M with a quick switch. This is so much more intuitive than the TCM button. I actually use it now.

The Sub-Unit is OK. It provides a nice front fill and is adjustable. It doesn’t work with HSS or wireless triggering. It does fit in the case with the Sub on.

The wireless menu system has been cleaned up. Its now super easy to use this flash as a receiver or transmitter. I hated how Godox did the menu previously – but this one is intuitive.

The price is justified for these quality of life improvements. If you need more power, upgrade to the AD200 or 300 series. If you need a cheaper price point, check out the Godox Manual flashes (2.4g) for about 1/3 the price.

    I recommend it.
