This is so much better than the older triggers they made since it has a fully functioning touch screen, although i wish it would’ve came with a screen protector since it is prone to collect scratches it does come with a solid carrying case.

    I would absolutely recommend it!

Excellent wireless flash trigger. Very well-made, lightweight, and portable. Works excellently with my GODOX V1PRO and GODOX AD400PRO. The touch screen works flawlessly, and it is very responsive. So far, I haven’t seen any issues—excellent value for the money.

This trigger ships with Chinese enabled for the menu system. To switch the menus to English, please see the attached video.

I’m using the trigger with a Godox AD200 Pro, and the it works well. I haven’t set up any light groups, but it’s pretty easy to set them up in the interface.

The touchscreen is very bright, and responsive to touch. Don’t let the video fool you – I tried to watch what I was doing through my phone camera instead of on the screen itself! Oops!

Some of the functions trigger include turning the model light off and on, grouping multiple lights, and setting the strobe intensity. It’s way more convenient than changing it on the strobes manually, especially when you’re doing setting things up for a shot.

One of the things I love about this trigger is the solid integration with the software in the camera. In the Canon menus, I can change many of the trigger settings directly. I like the menu system on the trigger itself better, but it’s nice to know it’s there, anyway!

To get to the in-camera control, at least on the EOS R7, go in the camera menu (red menu), tab 3, and choose External Speedlite control. It has pretty freakin’ awesome integration (see attached pictures). It has WAY more options than I would have expected – Godox did a lot of good work to pass this information through.

This trigger has been working really well for me, and has a lot more functionality than a simple corded trigger on the strobe. I highly recommend it.

Amazing integration with Canon in-camera menus

    Pros:
    – Solid build quality
    – Responsive touch display
    – Incredibly compact design, especially when compared to the previous X Pro II
    – Love that this does still have physical buttons on the side for power, manually activating your flash and a rotating dial for adjusting flash power settings
    – Fairly intuitive touch menu
    – USB-C rechargeable
    – Excellent battery life
    – Comes with a compact high quality fitted semi hard carrying case

    Cons:
    – None really

    Overall:

I’ve been incredibly happy with this flash tigger from Godox. When they first announced this I had some reservations around the transition what looked like a fully touch screen interface, since muscle memory is such great part of the experience using the X Pro II. I’m happy to say that I think this has just enough physical buttons that you’ll be able to transition to using this without having to look at the display with a bit of time.

This is a complete overhaul from the X Pro II while keeping the same MSRP, which in the current age of inflation and ever increasing prices, is honestly really nice. Despite this they haven’t skimped out on the build quality or design. This feels solid in hand and actulaly comes with a very nice fitted semi hard carrying case which the old X-PROII did not come with.

Set up with this is quick and easy. Just power on and you’re good to go. The touch screen is bright and easy to read thanks to the OLED display. The touch screen is also very sensitive + responsive which goes a long way. You can easily power on/off different groups of lights, including their modelling lights and easily set their power levels. You can adjust power levels globally or individually. Swiping to the right when you’ve tapped into a light will bring you back to the overview menu. You can have up to 3 lights on the screen at any given time, which is a downgrade from the larger screen on the XPROII but will be enough for most people’s lighting set ups.

Along the right side of the trigger there’s a series of 3 buttons. The top button is also a crown style dial, kind of like the Apple Watch crown, and is great for making quick adjustments to your flash settings without having to look at the screen. The other two buttons are for power/menu and to manually activate your flashes. In use I found this trigger to be great overall. I had no issues pairing this with multiple Godox lights and they all fired off without a hitch.

Beyond all of the above, I absolutely love the transition to a built in rechargeable battery. Battery life on this is excellent, and I’m glad I don’t have to deal with AA batteries any more.

Overall if you have a Godox set up at home and are in need of a flash trigger for off camera flash, or want to upgrade your current XPRO, this is well worth the price. It’s a complete redesign with a well thought out touch interface in an incredibly compact design. 100% would recommend.
