I’ve taken this speaker golfing 3 times. Every time I set it up for the right course and nothing happens. Eventually we have to hit our tee off ball and then there’s not much time to mess with it more. Haven’t figured it out yet. The sound is great and it’s very nicely made. Alot of cool features when I get figured out.

This speaker is awesome. Provides the best of both worlds with a speaker with incredible sound, and accurate yardage on the golf course. The sound is really impressive for a speaker this size. I use it off the course as much as I do on the course. It is loud and has crisp sound. Impressive bass as well. Magnet is very struggle and will lock in place and you will not need to worry about it falling off during the round. Battery lasts two rounds of golf easily.

The golf GPS is a great feature. The app is very easy to use and has a ton of impressive customization options. During my first few rounds I spot checked the yardages with my rangefinder and found that they were incredibly accurate. My only complaint would be that the constant running of a GPS does wear down your battery through the round but all phone based GPS apps do. After only a few rounds, I have been truly impressed with this speaker/GPS.

This speaker is designed to be used on the golf course. It is quite large and heavy, but the magnet is strong and secures it well to any metal. Most push carts use aluminum to which a magnet will not attach. However, it does hold well to a metal bar on a golf cart.
The speaker is loud which is good for outside purposes. However, the sound quality is only average. I compared it to my Tribit speaker which is much smaller, lighter and cheaper. The Golf Buddy has stronger bass, but the Tribit has better overall sound quality. If you are looking for a speaker to use inside, you can get a better one for about $30.
The distinguishing function of this speaker is the GPS system. It connects to the Golf Buddy app by Bluetooth. The app is free and has a lot of features found on expensive GPS systems. You can keep score as well as other statistics on the app. When connected by Bluetooth, the Golf Buddy speaker will tell you the distance to the middle of the green. A small device clips to your belt. With one push of a button you get the distance to the green without having to use a scope.
I had some trouble connecting the speaker to the app by Bluetooth. However, once connected it works fine.

During testing I found that the golf buddy was very accurate. Compared yard markers it was around a yard either way. It’s accuracy is comparable to other golf buddy trackers. It’s called voice which means it can vocalize your distances, but I prefer just using the yard readout display on the speaker itself. Additionally, well some people might listen to music while golfing. That isn’t really a priority for me. I’m usually with friends and we just chat instead. Being able to use it as a speaker isn’t a bad thing by any means. It’s just not a major factor for me. My phone set up and configuration super easy. I didn’t have any problems connecting it to the app. It’s great that you don’t have to sign up to any sort of subscription service, it all just kind of works. 30 recommended if you’re looking for a good golf distance tracker. The speaker is an added bonus.
