This Hot Wheels Ultra Shark Car Wash is an excellent toy and a great addition to my son’s Hot Wheels City. Here’s a quick list of pros and cons for the item.

    Pros:

    – Connects with other Hot Wheels City playsets.
    – Folds in half for easier storage when not in use.
    – The kids love the hot/cold color-changing action of the cars.
    – The color reveal car is a fun activity in itself. The car that’s included with this set has a green paint over the entire car, hiding what the car looks like. You get to drop the car in some water and shake it clean and reveal the true color of the car, which the kids enjoyed very much.
    – The set includes a good level of interactivity for the kids. The shark pushes down to drop the car into the hot water, then it tilts up to make the car move along the track, and there’s another spring loaded platform to dip the car into the cold water. It really captures their imaginations and keeps them playing for a long time.
    – The hot and cold water reservoirs are removable for easy filling.
    – The base of the playset actually collects water in it while it’s being played with, and you can dump the water out at the end of the play session with ease. This doesn’t completely eliminate the mess but does reduce it some, so that’s a win in my book.

    Cons:

    – Even in the folded position, this is still pretty bulky and hard to store.
    – Being a water set, you’ll have to be careful where you use it and keep towels handy for spills.
    – This does require assembly. Although it wasn’t awful, it requires the installation of several stickers, which I never like; why put 80% of the stickers on at the factory and pass the other 20% on to the consumers? It doesn’t make sense, and the kids (as kids do) can get impatient while waiting for their new toy to be ready to play with. Other than the stickers, though, the assembly was actually pretty easy.

Overall, my kids and I really like the car wash and think it’s one of the better Hot Wheels City sets we’ve owned and played with. There are far more positives to this set than negatives, and really all the cons I found were a bit of a stretch. I’ll give the product 5/5 stars and highly recommend to anybody who has a kid that loves Hot Wheels.

Great gift for a small child, and fun right out of the box. Vibrant colors from track and included cars change with water. Great fun for my friends small child and cars perform great on small track. Shark theme is great especially with summer time, would be nice if a shark theme car was included as well to match track. Overall a great gift for small kids.

This is a big toy in a big box and gives a lot of wow factor when opened for a birthday present! My son lost it! All of my kids love cars – anything with wheels and tires, and this has been a huge hit. An adult will need to assemble the car wash out of the box, but while it’s big, it can fold smaller to store. It only comes with one color changing car so if you have more than one kid, it could be worthwhile to look for more color changing hot wheels size cars. Other hot wheels can obviously fit through the car wash, but they won’t change colors in the warm and cold water. This is going to be messy, so do it on a towel or outside if that’s going to be a concern, but you can still move the cars through it even without water.

My kids really love this hotwheels track set. It’s easy to set up and the color reveal feature is awesome. Just a heads up – I’d set this up in the yard or by the pool since kids get riled up when they play and water splashes outside of the set. I can imagine it makes a great gift since the set comes in a big box and kids love to open up big boxes of toys to begin with.

The material feels think so I think it should be fairly durable. That said, just like with anything plastic I’d stash this indoors when not in use or I guess the plastic will fade.

I also wish this set comes with two special color reveal cars. I’d grab an extra set with this set or you’d have your kids fighting over the single special car.

Lots of fun and great pool side toy. Best suited for outside. Wish it comes with 2 special cars.

As a little boy I always wanted a car wash toy, and now there’s one. Only one thing, it’s even cooler, because it’s got a GIANT freakin’ shark on it! Our two girls love playing with this thing, and they’re not even hot wheels fans, they love it because it’s a plain fun toy. Assembling it was easy, took about 10-minutes, stickers were the hardest part to get just right.

Now for the fun part, the shark ‘eats’ the cars and change the color of the included color change car. The water stays relatively well within the car wash. I do recommend putting a towel under neath it just in case.

Ultimately this would make a fantastic gift for any hot wheels fan out there. Kiddos especially love it because they can play with a little bit of water as well which is always fun.

I ordered this for my 3 and 4 year old who both absolutely love Hot Wheel tracks and cars, and they could not be happier with this set!

I have absolutely 0 negatives with this set, only positives, and I’m going to list some of the best things about this set below.

    1) The set is super easy and fun to assemble, my four year old and I built it together in about 15 minutes (He loved putting the stickers on) and it was really easy to put together and use!

    2) The set is fully interactive, so to move the car from one spot to another (or dunk it in the water buckets) the kids have to move lift things or move things to make the car go so it’s not just “put car on track and watch it go”, it’s actually interactive which I love.

    3) The way the buckets work are awesome because you push the sharks head down to dip the car in the hot water, and then you lift the sharks head up and it goes through a spiral down and over to the cold water where you lower a little handle down to dip the car into the cold water! I love that and it’s an awesome way to let the kids interact with the cars and water in a controlled way that doesn’t (hopefully) end up with splashes everywhere.

    4) The water buckets sit very firmly in place, and I love that. Even if a kid literally tripped over this set I think the water buckets would still stay put firmly in place, they’re very well designed to fit perfectly into the place where they go, but you can lift them up and out easily when needed to fill them with water, love that design.

    5) This is a “sleeper” feature but I love it, this set is relatively large/long so if you have a smaller playroom or living room like we do it might take up a lot of space or not fit well. However, the set has a very well designed little round hinge in the middle of it that attaches the two halves of the set together, so you can easily make this into the longer version or a little square/folded up version and still play with it as needed.

Overall I give this an absolutely 10/10, one of the best hot wheel toys I’ve gotten for my kids in a long time!

This was given to an 8 year old boy and he absolutely loves it. It fits onto his hot wheel track, but he said he likes it more to play without the track connected. The shark wash comes with a hot wheel car that changes color. When immersed in hot water it changes to one color and when immersed in the cold water it changes to another. It is neat how the whole shark lifts up and the car “drives” to the back(tail) of the shark. When he plays rough he slams the tail down to immerse it in the cold water tank. So far none of it has broken and it has held up well. None of his other hot wheels cars change color; apparently only certain color changing cars change colors. He stil likes washing all of his cars. He puts them in the first tank, then lifts the shark up and slams his tail to complete the washing. The car travels through the shark and lands into the second water tank. Mattel did a nice job in designing the water troughs in such a way that helps keep the water from going everywhere. The set can be lifted apart so it can just be poured into the sink. Additionally the set folds up to allow for easier storage. For the most part the water stays where it is supposed to. Although, when the cars race thourgh the wash or when a lot of cars are cleaned at once water gets spilled/splashed. This is best to be played with on a water resistant surface or outside.
