This compact metal M.2 enclosure works as expected. Simple to install a 2230 SSD, then plug and play with USB to make a portable high performance drive that is much better than most thumb drives.
This is such a cute and portable NVMe enclosure!
As you can see in the photo, you need the smallest form factor drive to fit.
This little thing is cold to the touch and acts as a large heat sink for the NVMe drive which is thermally coupled with a thermal pad.
The drive will get very hot with prolong use; I wasn’t able to exceed 10gbs though this may be related to the drive I bought.
I used this storage device to make some space on my cell phone, because I had thousands of pictures and videos stored and it was slowing down my device. It was extremely simple to use this iDiskk, just plug in and go. It did not take long for me to transfer all of my media onto the iDiskk, it was so much faster than any other device I have used for this same reason, plus it has a ton more storage than most other storage devices at the same price. 🙂
Nice little enclosure… feels really well made and works great, only problem that I’ve had is that it’s hard to open the first time.
Otherwise, though, no complaints. Just make sure your SSD will fit inside it!

This enclosure gets hot to the point it’s hard to touch!
However, it’s nicely made, the drive was easy to install (it didn’t register at first, but I think that was a problem with the drive, not the enclosure).
It has a green led on it to show it’s in use, but it’s inside the enclosure, under the back cover. If you sit the drive the right way up with the screw on the bottom, you can’t see the light. There also no lens for the led built into the case. It actually shines out through the gap in the cover. So that gap makes me unsure how this will hold up to keeping dust and detritus out and away from the drive.
I’m glad the gap is there though because of how much heat this thing throws out. I’ve no experience of drives of this nature, so I don’t know if this is normal but from what I’ve read they can reach about 70C – 80C. I’d be interested to know failure rates in these types of enclosures.
Price of 34.99 seems about average.

Il box molto compatto, l’alluminio permette un’ottima dissipazione del calore. Essendo il metallo abbastanza spesso, la sensazione di pesantezza. Se cercate qualcosa di leggerissimo non fa per voi.
Il punto di forza di questo adattatore la velocit. Offre infatti una connessione a 10Gbps tramite usb-C.

Ce botier pour SSD M2 de type 2230 est tout simplement superbe. Il pse un certain poids toute proportion garde ce qui fait ressortir une qualit de fabrication certaine.
Il est vraiment minuscule et sera totalement transparent dans n’importe quelle poche pour le transport entre la maison et le bureau par exemple et c’est pour cela que je l’ai choisi. Il va s’avrer un compagnon prcieux de haute capacit car on peut y adjoindre un SSD jusqu’ deux T0.
Il est livr avec son cble de transfert au format USB C, sur lequel un adaptateur USB 2 que l’on ne peut pas perdre est inclus. Le tournevis qui permet d’ouvrir le botier est livr galement, ainsi qu’une petite pochette de transport.
Au niveau performance, les taux de transfert sont vraiment excellents, il ne chauffe pas trop tellement d sa conception aluminium. Je suis vraiment ravi de ce botier externe car j’utilisais la mme chose en format 2280 et l c’est nettement plus gros et beaucoup moins pratique dans la poche.

This is a great compact m.2 enclosure that is reallly handy. I recently broke my laptop and one of the only bits recoverable were the ssds and this has allowed me to take all the info off and now I use it as an external hhd for my new laptop.

I seem to spend a lot of time moving big files around. Typically it’s raw image files of around 25MB for each image, or audio files in FLAC format where an album can easily exceed 250MB. I’m not doing it for fun, it’s usually done to move a file from an import location to a more suitable location, often another PC, or to create a back-up of specific files/folders. It’s just the way I work and have things set up.
With the volume of data I am moving/copying thumb drives aren’t really up to the task which is where the SSD and this enclosure have made a real difference to transfer speeds. It really does save a huge amount of time and hassle and given the large capacity of an SSD I can do a lot more in just one step.
I found the installation process to be fairly straightforward. I was a bit worried about what was involved, never having done anything like it before, but the instructions are clear and precise. I think I read them 3 or 4 times just to be sure I understood what I had to do. As it turned out I just took my time; constantly referred to the instuctions and completed the task without any problems in just a few minutes. All that is involved is undoing two screws; placing the SSD in position then securing it with one of the screws and finally re-assembling the casing which you hold in place using the other screw. A screwdriver is supplied and appears to be of Phillips type – no fancy security heads on the screws which means if you lose the screwdriver any other correctly sized Phillips one will do.
After that it’s just a question of connecting it up and getting on with whatever you wanted the SSD for. The cable has a USB-C at one end and a dual USB-A and C at the other and looks to be high quality. The casing of the enclosure is aluminium and so provides excellent protection. It measures roughly 4.3cm x 4.3cm x 1.0cm and it weighs less than 80g with SSD installed so it is perfect for carrying with you. A small, drawstring, velvety pouch is even provided for this purpose.
To sum up, this enclosure meets the performance claims made in the listing and provides excellent and durable protection for your SSD. I really cannot fault it and although there are cheaper versions out there this one is worth the price of 35.99 for its quality. I am happy to recommend it.
