I got this camera to use to monitor my workshop which is round the corner from my house. The night vision and two way audio is whatmade me choose this one as for the most part it is evvenings and night time that I am not there.
Getting the camera up and running was very straightforward – just download the app, pair it up and thats you ready to go. In use the camera is very good, at 3MP its not as hig resolution as some but for my needs its more than adequate. I could never be bothered to figure out the difference between 1K, 2K, 4k and okey dokay so maybe it is 2K…I’ll never realise if it is. The night vision is good which is important as my workshop has no light at night.
The build quality of the camera is very good: it is remarkably heavy for its relatively compact size. I like that its completely wireless, it means that if I decide to move it I dont have to worry aboout moving cabling too although I’ll probably add a solar panel or similar to stop me having to run a charging cable or power bank to it from time to time but as it is the battery lasts for a couple of months. I use an SD card rather than pay for storage.
There are loads of similar cameras on the market, but I am very pleased with this one, at 35 it represents excellent value for money.
Bought this for my back garden, now on wall and working , pictures clear as a bell, took a while to connect to my WiFi and phone but all well, brillia
I was immediately impressed with the build quality of this security camera. It feels solid and has a nice weight to it. The package includes the camera, a wall bracket, wall fixtures, and a USB-C charging cable.
Setting up the camera was straightforward. Simply download the Imou Life app, scan the QR code in the instruction booklet, and create a new account with your email and password. Allow the necessary permissions (I’m using an iPhone), and then scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera. Hold down the reset button on the camera for a few seconds and follow the on-screen instructions. The camera connected without any issues, and I was able to customise it by giving it a name.
The app is user-friendly with many features and customisable settings. I can take snapshots, record videos, use two-way talk, set privacy mode, activate a loud siren, turn on the spotlight, change the resolution, and switch to different performance modes like ultra power saving, continuous recording, and time-lapse video. The settings also allow me to check battery status, signal strength, adjust detection settings (sensitivity, range, zone), change sound and light response, enable night vision, check local storage, and more. I opted not to use the 7-day free trial that offers cloud storage, remote SD card recording, device sharing, security reports, and device health guard.
Installing the camera on my wall was easy. It can be adjusted up or down, though sideways movement is limited, which may affect positioning. It’s easy to remove from the bracket and charge the camera.
The battery life is decent, requiring more frequent charging depending on activity levels. Motion detection and alerts are very good and almost real-time. The picture quality is excellent, both day and night, with sharp and clear images. I haven’t experienced any connectivity issues so far, but I will update if that changes.
This is a decent camera for the price. The convenience of wireless installation and the wide range of features make it a good choice.
The wonderful value of this security cam. It uses WiFi to connect and is 100% wireless (built-in battery). We can keep an eye on our house and receive instant notification if someone breaks in. 2K resolution is not the best but do the job and also has decent night vision. Highly recommended!
I have tried many of this type of camera and this is simple the best I have tried
The picture quality
The night vision
The light and siren
And the motion detection are very good
I bought this camera for outside security, I could check the camera staright away through app.
Setting up this camera is a piece of cake. After downloading Imou life App from Google Play, then scan the QR code on the camera to connect it to a 2.4GHz wifi. It has rechargeable Battery with a low battery notification function, Five working modes will meet different intended uses. The picture quality is very clear and night vision is great too,The motion tracking is pretty cool. overall very good price and would buy it again if I needed a second camera
Not a bad camera for the money, but you will need to be very selective on where you position it.
This is due the camera being a battery type of course, so you’ll need easy access to it for recharging. Having said that, you could connect this to a 5v supply permanently (as with other standard camera), but that would defeat the object of a wireless unit.
The other option is to connect a 5v solar panel to recharge the battery, and hopefully make it totally maintenance-free once installed. I do have a suitable panel already, so I’ll be doing a few tests to see how it performs.
The camera itself looks and feels pretty well made, and certainly better than many budget alternatives out there.
The app installation, registering, and camera management is very familiar, and nothing too troublesome if you follow the guide correctly. Image quality is OK, obviously better the higher-resolution you choose.
Probably the biggest drawback is the lag… both in firing up the app and waiting for the video to load, and then the actual video-lag once it’s streaming. because of this, I would be very reluctant to use this in any situation where immediate monitoring is needed (answering the front door for instance). Any caller/courier would probably be long gone by the time you’ve got the camera feed available.
I think the main strength with this camera is in a remote-location setting, where power isn’t available, but with a solar panel used instead (yet to be tested as mentioned). I would treat it more as a ‘what-happened’ recorder, as opposed to a ‘what’s-happening-now’ type, if you know what I mean.
It’s OK for what it is, and if you understand the limitations (and possible plus-points), it could be the camera for you.
For me, it’s just about a 4-Star rating, and that’s based on the offer-price available at time of writing.
We thought it would be a good idea to have some peace of mind by having an outdoor wireless camera. It is a good product with a high CP value. The product is well packaged and it is of high quality. It is very simple and easy to set up even for people who do not like DIY like me, and it is wireless without any cables. The instruction of the product is very easy to understand, and the app is very easy to find and install. The product provides high-definition video quality and brilliant clear images. The product is also very sensitive for motion detection, and the real-time alerts or notifications can be received immediately. It also provides a really wide angle.
