Although I thoroughly enjoyed playing games on my switch, I can find the controller uncomfortable to hold and it actually makes my hands ache after awhile. This controller is much more comfortable to hold and has a very, very retro feel. It was easy to connect too.
I do wish that it came in more colours
A decent budget controller.
Some similar ones had obviously substandard triggers – where it was clear they were acting as cheap-and-nasty buttons rather than as axes; these don’t feel quite so bad.
The plastic feels a bit light and cheap, but it works fine.
The thumbsticks were responsive without drift or deadzones on the controller I received – but with budget controllers it’s always a bit of a gamble as to how long they maintain their quality, or luck-of-the-draw as to how well any given controller holds its calibration.
This is a review of ‘JINGDU Wireless Switch Pro Controller Compatible with Nintendo Switch/OLED/Lite,Bluetooth&2.4G Game Controller,Hall Joystick Controller, with 1000 mAh Battery’.
This is a controller compatible with Nintendo switch consoles. It plugs into the switch easily and has good connectivity. The triggers and buttons work well. It doesn’t have any fancy light up features but it does the job and works well. This is a great alternative to the official nintendo controllers which can be quite expensive.
This is very good replacement controller. Strong Pokemon vibe to the controller, no problems connecting to the Switch.
Feels fairly lightweight, I prefer controllers to have a bit more heft to them, but overall it’s good value for the money. Recommended.
This controller has been great for my gaming needs. The controls are smooth and responsive, and the vibration feedback adds to the immersion. It works well with multiple platforms, which is a huge plus. The battery lasts a long time, and the overall build feels durable, making it a reliable choice for gamers.
I recently picked up the Wireless Switch Pro Controller for my Nintendo Switch, and it’s been a game-changer! The Bluetooth and 2.4G connectivity options are seamless, ensuring a reliable connection whether I’m lounging on the couch or sitting further away from the console. The controller itself feels solid and comfortable in hand, and the responsive buttons make gameplay a breeze. It’s a great fit for all versions of the Switch, including OLED and Lite. If you’re looking for an upgrade or a reliable second controller, this one’s a solid choice.
This high precision hall rocker controller gives a good gaming experience with its 1000Hz response rate and real time vibration feedback. With flexible connectivity options and a 30-hour battery life, it supports various platforms, making it a versatile companion for gaming enthusiasts. Turbo functionality and precision triggers enhance gameplay, which in my view makes for a great and reasonably priced controller.
My wife was super pleased when she opened the box and saw this cute Pikachu-themed controller. She said she really likes the way it feels in her hands – it is not super-smooth plastic, but feels like it has been lightly rubberized, giving it a softer texture.
The buttons and sticks work as you would expect and it has a good battery life. This controller has become her and our 5-year-old’s go-to whenever they play on the Switch.
If you are a Pikachu fan, my family highly recommends this controller!
I mostly ordered this controller to use with my Nintendo Switch when it is docked and connected to the TV however, this controller is also meant to be compactable with other devices via Bluetooth. The overall design of the controller sorts of reminds me of a Pokmon. The controller does have bit of weight to it and feel really comfortable to hold and grip on to. The controller is mostly covered in a soft smooth rubber like material and if you have long nails like myself, it will often scratch the material easily.
The controller is quite basic as it doesn’t have any light effects, only the player indicator on the front which lights up blue when powered on and connected.
This controller is extremely easy to set up just by plugging it into the Nintendo Switch dock via the USB lead supplied with it and it is instantly recognised and connects to the Nintendo Switch without any issues. Once the controller is connected it can then power the Nintendo Switch on to wake it up. The controller also vibrates when connected.
The controller measures around 14cm length, 7 wide and 4cm depth.
When gaming with the controller it is responsive however, I am not a fan of the button used on this controller they feel very cheap. The buttons are also very noisy and feel very clunky to use and the d-pad not great.
Overall, the controller is very basic however if using to play cosy games its fine however when playing something more faster paced like a fighter, I can’t recommend as using the button are just to clunky.
I’m back to reviewing controllers after a bit of a break. Who knew playing a lot of video games could almost start to seem like work?
There are no extra frills here other than the turbo function. No macro buttons on the backside and no LEDs outside of the normal Switch Pro controller player indicators. The styling is very obviously Pikachu themed but without enough Pikachu to get sued by the big N. It’s cute.
The entire backside of the controller is coated in a smooth, soft rubbery compound. It feels pleasant (to me) but doesn’t make for the best grip. People who are really into tactile sensation may have strong feelings one way or the other about this controller. Conversely, the front side of the grips are a medium plastic with stippling.
Ergonomically the controller is very comfortable for me. The d-pad is very pliable. I had high hopes for it based on it being a cross configuration rather than a disc and how easy it was to shift around. The triggers and joysticks are in a comfortable location for my hand size (medium-largish adult male). All of the face buttons feel good with just the right amount of resistance and spring back.
The controller auto disconnects after a period of inactivity. For some reason the instructions do not list how to connect to a PC in Switch Pro mode. Hold down the B button + Home to pair in Switch mode. The two options it does specify will let you pair in XBox 360 controller mode or generic controller mode, both of which will miss some functionality as compared to paring as a Switch Pro controller. I had no problems with latency or connection reliability over bluetooth to my Steam Deck.
When paired as a Switch Pro controller the gyro sensors are available as a separate input from the controller and seem to be working fine.
It comes with a big almost poster-sized fold out instruction sheet that have instructions in seven languages. The font is small enough that I had to use my readers, but not a magnifying glass nor phone macro camera like many instruction booklets these days.
For testing I played Phantasy Star for Master System and Golden Axe for Genesis through Retroarch. I played Hot Wheels Unleashed and Battleblock Theater through Steam.
Gadzooks! The old poorly executed budget controller D-pad strikes yet again! This is the second controller recently that fooled me into thinking it might have a good D-pad based on how it felt, pre-playtest. In its defense, I have used worse D-pads than this.
The problem is that you can press the entire pad down and activate all four directions at one time. It’s not even particularly difficult to do so. They made the D-pad very soft and reactive to presses, but it’s softness translates to presses in the middle as well, which can depress directions you don’t intend to be pressing. In both Phantasy Star and Golden Axe, where you move in all four directions, the input would often be inaccurate. When trying to move a cardinal direction in Golden Axe my character would start moving diagonal. Sometimes my character in Phantasy Star would continue moving in a direction for another tile after I had intended for her to change direction. If you manage to press the entire pad down, the input (through the linux input layer, anyway) defaults to up and left, so you might find yourself moving up and left even though that certainly wasn’t your intent.
Battleblock Theater was pretty playable since it almost entirely relies on left and right movement. Hot Wheels Unleashed played fine with the sticks. Rumble was tested in this game and it felt good on the controller’s default setting (which is adjustable). The controller was comfortable to use for a decent amount of time.
Overall this is a decent controller for this market segment. There are better choices out there if you’re into retro gaming where your D-pad needs to be good. If you only envision yourself using the joysticks for timing critical input with the D-pad for miscellaneous input then this will be a pretty solid controller that looks nice if you’re into yellow or Pikachu stuff and is very comfortable to use. I struggled as to whether this deserves 3 stars or 4. I’m bumping it up to 4 due to being one of the more affordable options with Hall Effect joysticks and for having a little bigger battery than most of its competition.
So I haven’t been using this for long. I have played with it for 2 days so far and I love it. I’ve only played octopath traveler on the pc with it though so I haven’t tried the turbo (I never use turbo for any game I play) nor have I used the gyroscope. I plan to use this for my switch as well but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I really like the feel of this controller. I have small hands so it might not be the same for everyone but I like the grip of it. I can hold it for long periods of time and my hands don’t get tired and my fingers don’t cramp. The material is a nice soft silky feeling on the bottom and the top is the same with the graphic adding a texture to it as well.
The only problem I have with it is when I’m syncing it to my PC it comes up as an Xbox controller, which in and of itself isn’t a problem but the buttons are now backwards. In the game it says hit the A button but on the controller it is actually the B button. This is because it’s dressed up as a switch controller but get’s identified as a xbox controller on the pc. I’m sure remapping can fix this but it’s just a little annoying is all.
I haven’t had issues with this at all and currently it is my favorite controller.
The Wireless Switch Pro Controller from JINGDU Store is a fantastic choice for Nintendo Switch, OLED, and Lite. Its Bluetooth and 2.4G connectivity are reliable, and the Hall joystick and six-axis gyro scope offer precise control. The 1000 mAh battery provides long playtime, making gaming sessions uninterrupted. The only minor issue is that the triggers could be more responsive, but overall, it’s a great game controller.
