Jonnie Walker 18 years ( AKA Johnnie Walker platinum ). Ticks all the boxes. All scotches are a matter of personal taste & this one to me is better & not as harsh as Blue Label & half the price although a Blue Label fan will say that is rubbish. All i can say is that if you want a realy nice scotch that you are not just going to throw down your neck then this is worth a try.
Took a chance despite other reviews about broken seal. Luckily no broken seal. Great flavours with slight smokiness. If you’re not a fan of any smoke flavour then would recommend the Gold label.
Smooth on the palette, fruity taste, a bit of citrus, with a slight bit of smokiness, smokiness not over powering at all. Warms you, very enjoyable only thing is box was damaged, will buy whiskey again.
I was one of the lucky ones, my seal was not tampered with after reading all the occurrences I was worried!
Now onto the dram, this is a great blend, maybe one of the best out there, it’s incredibly sweet with a kick of spices although I didn’t get any smoke but I’ve only had a couple small tasters.
At 54.99 this was a steal, I would buy again and recommend to most from beginners to experienced whisky drinkers!
One of my favourite blends. An incredible improvement over the JW Black and smashes the JW Blue in terms of bang for your buck. Quite sweet compared with previous releases but still a superb example of a premium blend. Paid just under 60 on a deal and well worth it.
This is a lovely little whisky.
It’s got a lot of JW’s Platinum Label going on but is completely different in the finish.
The first sip felt a bit rough compared to normal JW fair but then I took another and my view changed completely. It’s got a smoky burn in the finish that gets better with every sip and shares some of the sweet goodness from Platinum.
Definitely worth a try but allow for it not being super smooth in the finish and, hopefully, enjoy it just just as much for that!
For the comparative costs, if you are considering this and Platinum Label or if you’ve tried Platinum and are wondering if this is worth a try – I’d go for the Platinum. If you are curious and want to try it though the JW 18 is still definitely worth a try!
