Overall the holder is good. I’ve had no issues with it falling off the headrest or of the tablet falling out. Some care is required when removing the tablet so that the holders don’t spring back and squash child fingers.
The main issue is that because its a generic holder, the mount points can squash the buttons on the tablet, causing the power to go off/on or the volume to be set to max/low. The only real way around it is to try and place it so no buttons are pushed, but this can lead to tablet not being held as securely as you might want. Obviously if you are just pootling down the motorway then its fine, however if you have bump conditions or suddenly stop, or start driving like a rally driver then its possible for the tablet to fall.
Given the price and the fact its easy to remove/install when needed I think its a win, so I bought a second!
Easily holds iPad Air (9.7 inch) and Nintendo Switch OLED screen. Easy to attach to car headrest posts and easy to insert and remove screens. Very well made and has been used extensively – perfect for long trips in the car. Very happy.

PROS: instant fit and no fiddly catches to tighten like our previous solution. Holds both 12.9 iPad Pro and and the original 9.7″ iPad sizes, or a Kindle Fire without any issues. Adjustment is easy and despite it not being possible to completely tighten the friction fit bracket, the iPad doesn’t droop in either orientation even when going on over speed bumps. No vibration either. The brackets are small and lightweight so easy enough to tuck them away in the glovebox when not in use.
CONS: none whatsoever, they are great value.

Works perfectly. Nice and sturdy and easy to install, a few things that could be improved:
Would be easier if just one arm slid, as it could then be installed one handed.
A quick release would be good to allow the tablet to be easily removed by the front passenger.
The only minor negatives (hence 4 stars not 5) were that even at maximum extension it isn’t large enough for the Kindle Kid Proof Case (and possibly any other tablet protector) which means you have to take it out of that and also that the arms to hold the Kindle interfere a little with the buttons on the sides – if placed in the middle the arms are either covering the on/off button or the volume buttons. Otherwise it’s great and I would recommend.
Great holder for iPad pro (2018, 11 inch) room to spare and fits easily.
Holder fits VW Passat/CC and goes on easily – only issue I have encountered is fairly minor but one to be aware of – trying to release iPad almost requires 3 hands to hold iPad and pull the holder – it has also released from the headrest when doing this only using one of the release handles (as you pull the release mechanism the holder ‘slides’ if not using both at the same time) so just be conscious of this but otherwise great, nice and sturdy, feels secure and happy with the purchase – worth a few pound more to have a holder with ‘room to spare’ as I prefer this than having the iPad sit in a maxed out position that holders ‘up to 11inches’ offer. Also holds galaxy S10+ perfectly.
This is a bit more basic than some of the other Lamicall products (the bike phone holder is excellent) , but apparently as well made and solid. It fits securely to the car and holds my son’s fire tablet well but it is on a simple ball joint so the distance from the user can’t be adjusted.
Basically a good solid buy, no frills.
