Hard to imagine that this year will be the 30th Anniversary of one of the most popular Disney animations ever, even more so when you learn that Disney did not expect it to be a success. This LEGO set is perfect for fans of the original Animated films, it is a project for fans young and old and will leave you with something to display proudly as a Disney fan. This is a set very much in the same scale as the LEGO Bowser, it is just so well designed and looks exactly like the young Lion Cub Simba from the film. I have a niece and nephew that only knew the film from the LIVE Action remake, so being able to not only show them the animated original but to surprise them with a weekend project of building this set as they sung “Hakuna Matata” was a joy.
Now this is a large set, but the instructions break down the build by bag and with a brilliant instruction booklet and the ability to download a PDF version so we could have it on a tablet which allowed us to zoom in on any section to make sure everything was right. This is a set for experienced LEGO builders or at the very least, supervision those younger builders out there. This is a high quality set which matches the high price but it is more than worth it, more so if you are a fan of the film itself.
The best gift ever I got this for my niece she is mad about Lego and loves Disney so this is the best of both worlds the Lego is designed for 18+ she is only 14 and found this easy to build she has been around Lego since a young age the instructions are easy to follow and I would say the total build time was around 4 hours we liked that the head moves once this pice is completed it makes a perfect display pice
So if you are looking for a perfect gift for a Lego enthusiast or Disney fan or both then look no furthe
This is not a toy, this from the collection designed to be built and displayed. It’s not made for kids, it’s for adults who love Disney, or just love building. Made to celebrate 30 years of the classic film, the build comprises of 1445 pieces and can be assembled from the instructions or using the Lego builder App. It is a good size once build and it looks great sitting on a shelf, certainly an interesting talking point. I enjoy building Lego and I found this interesting and relaxing. It took me about 6 hours in total spread over a few evenings, and I was taking my time during the build too. I really like the attention to detail and the design of the build is excellent, it really captures Simba.
Price is a bit expensive, but it is very well designed and good fun to build.
I ordered this for my adult daughter as it’s her favourite film. She’s yet to complete it as it will be a lengthy project, but loving it so far.
The 1445 pieces are packed in 15 separate bags and are the usual high quality associated with Lego.
It will be a very eyecatching piece once finished.
Great value for money considering the size of the piece.
I got the LEGO Disney Young Simba the Lion King set (43247) as a gift for my nephew, who is a huge fan of both The Lion King and LEGO. This collectible animal figure building set was a perfect choice. He enjoyed assembling it with his dad and the detailed model looks fantastic as a decorative piece in his room. The set not only provided him with hours of fun during the build but also serves as a nostalgic reminder of the beloved movie. It’s a wonderful gift idea for anyone who appreciates Disney magic and LEGO creativity. Only negative i can say is its pretty expensive but you get top notch quality of Lego.
This has been such fun to build and yes sometimes it was tricky but after a few bags he really began to take shape. I recommend buying both sets as they go so well togethe
The LEGO Disney Young Simba from The Lion King is a delightful collectible animal figure building set that appeals to adults for its nostalgic value and decorative charm. Ideal for home or office decor, this model kit allows fans to relive memorable moments from the beloved Disney movie. It makes a thoughtful gift idea for women, men, and fans alike, combining the joy of LEGO building with the beloved character of Simba. Perfect for displaying or gifting to Disney enthusiasts, this set captures the essence of childhood nostalgia and the enduring magic of The Lion King.
A quality Lego product. Designed for adults (states 18+ on the box). Great for any Disney or Lion King fans. I love the new adult targeted ranges of Lego and this one is no exception. Takes a while to build, which is good considering the price, but it’s well made as you’s expect and has a moving head.
Price point about right – comparable with other adult Lego sets. Nice.
The LEGO Disney Young Simba the Lion King Collectible Animal Figure Building Set is a fantastic model kit for adults. The set comes with a big instruction manual and 15 bags to build, ensuring a detailed and enjoyable building experience. I’m looking forward to spending time on this nostalgic project. It’s perfect for home or office decor and makes a great gift idea for any Lion King fan. Highly recommended for those who love both LEGO and classic Disney movies. Just stunning!
This is my third 18+ Lego set and probably the easiest of the three to be honest. I make them with my 12 year old nephew and he does most of the building with me as more of an overseer. Lego has always been our way of bonding and these sets are great to keep him interested, even though he’s getting a bit older these days. Anyway, he was mostly fine with this kit, there were a few times I needed to help, but I think for any patient teenager with experience of Lego, they’d get on okay with this kit for the most part, with maybe a little help here and there.
For an adult, I thought it was a fun build. The body and head were particularly fun and the eyes were pretty unique. Overall it took us about five hours give or take, which I think is pretty decent. As a model, it looks great, feels solid and is a great display piece like all these 18+ sets. It is a really excellent version of Simba, as far as looks go, but it’s a bit less interactive than some other sets we’ve built. We built the Lego Bowser and it was such an amazing model that was really cool with how much you could move him about, with this one, you can only really move his head left and right and a little of his tail. Still, it does look excellent. There is loads of clever uses of old parts, like the recoloured Lego bush used on his tail, so that was really cool to discover throughout the build.
Overall I liked it. The build was great fun and really super clever, like every 18+ set I’ve made so far. It’s solid, quite complex but with excellent instructions and not at all overly challenging, so still totally approachable even for a slightly older kid. I thought it was excellent all round and I have to say, I pretty much love these 18+ kits.
This is a well laid out Lego set. I have used Lego many times especially in my childhood but have experience with the later large sets including the motorised mechanics type ones.
This is a manual move only model so no mechanics needed.
There are 15 bags and a thick manual in the box. Also a tool which I have not found a use for yet but is perhaps for dismantling. On that note, as the instructions are on a bag basis you would need to keep a careful log of what parts came from which bag if you were going to rebuild it or to pay close attention to the instructions and create bags again using it before building.
The instructions colours are not bad for colour matching but with one exception as the black tile looks more like a grey tile in the book.
I have built it in exact stages the book order follows up until just bag 4 as I want to savour it and the nature of the review process is a bit speedier than I would want for this build. I have posted photos here of the pack and the build so far for you to see which I hope is helpful.
A lovely Lego kit which of course is perfect for lion king and Lego lovers but also big cat and Lego lovers.
I’ve been a massive fan of the Lion King since its release in the 90s. I was not taken by the smaller version that looked a little too cartoonish, which is nonsensical as this is also cartoon like, but the end build is very faithful to the film version.
The build is straightforward with a slight technics frame with which to add the various body parts. It has 1445 pieces and will take you a few hours to get up and running. The head rotates, bizarrely a full 360 degrees, as does the tail.
It’s a solid feature piece and looks straight out of the 90s’ film. Currently on sale for 96.99 which feels far more suitable than the 114.99 RRP.
I recently built the LEGO Disney Young Simba set and found it quite enjoyable. It’s a challenging but relaxing build, perfect for fans of The Lion King. The finished figure makes a lovely display piece. Take time but the nostalgia is worth it. The movable head adds a nice touch. You can use the LEGO Builder app to track progress, which is handy. Overall, it’s a fun set, especially if you love Disney and LEGO!
