This charger is fast and gives an accurate reading of the status of the barrery’s charge (+- 2%). It is a little bulky but well worth the size since you can also add two SD cards into the assigned slots. There are two battery slots with visual indicators of the charge status and leaving the charged batteries in the device does not result in a reduction in the charge status. Well worth the money.
So this is a nice charger. It’s well built and attractive. The plastic has a nice satin feel to it. It holds two NP-FW50 batteries and charges them faster than a standard charger if you use a USB-C PD adapter to give it more juice.
It’s also got two SD card slots in it. This helps make it more useful as an organizer, as it is larger than my other chargers (even two battery chargers) so it’s competing for space in my bag.
The SD card slots are, I think, a missed opportunity. They have contacts down in the slots if you look inside. The charger is already hooked up to USB-C. This charger could increase its functionality by having those SD card slots connected to USB and being a dual SD card reader. You could charge batteries from your laptop while downloading your images. WIth two SD card slots, you could also duplicate your card to send a copy with someone else in the field. As it stands, it’s just a place to store two SD cards – which is handy, if you’re not using something to store them they will find a place to hide in a camera bag – or worse, escape.
I went from thinking I discovered a feature that wasn’t in the listing, to being kind of disappointed that it wasn’t a function of the charger. My four star rating is not because it’s not an SD card reader – it’s merely because it’s a good bit larger than the charger I currently pack. So while this one is fast and pretty with a nice magnetic flip top, it isn’t the best use of space so it mostly lives at my desk instead. I have a smaller charger and small battery cases that allow me to get 4 batteries in the same amount of space this takes up. But if it were also a card reader, it might earn a spot in my bag.
If you need fast charging for a pair of batteries, this is a nice charger. The display showing percentage charge is neat, although it doesn’t always agree with the camera it’s more informative than four LEDs or worse a single one that goes from red to green. It just seems like it wouldn’t take that much more to make it a true multipurpose gadget.
If you use a high-watt power source, it charges quickly. If your wall plug or power source is only good for a few watts, the batteries will charge really slowly and the display may even blink on and off, especially if you are trying to charge two batteries at once.
This faster charging case can charge can be as twice faster than usual. It’s very safe and protected with multiple ways wherever and whenever. It can be charged in car or by computers. Even with adapter when on the way to travel or work.
It comes with LED screen that can monitor how much the battery left. So no hassle
This is a good charger for simultaneously charging two NP-FW50 batteries. It s solidly built and the magnetic lid closure will keep the batteries safe in it. In addition it offers the convenience of two slots for storing SD cards.
While it’s handy to have a digital readout of the charge percentage of each battery, this charger’s display reads consistently low. For example the two batteries I have in front of me show 8% and 90% on the charger, but my RX10 camera shows them as having 44% and 100% charge, respectively. I have a similar dual-battery charger selling for half the price of this one with a digital readout that’s in close agreement with my camera’s battery charge display.
This is a very convenient way to store and charge your sony batteries. I wish the case had a battery of its own in there, but it doesn’t and isn’t marketed as such either. But its much better than using the oem charger and you can just toss the whole thing in your camera bag and charge off any usb power bank easy enough.
This is a very nice battery charger…as chargers go.
Feels great in the hand, they went an extra mile to make it look and feel great…nicely done there.
It charges flawlessly and you can tell by the digital readout exactly where you are in the charge.
What really sets this one apart is the fast charging…it can handle the juice…so if you are on the go and need a charge with limited time…this sucker can get it done. It also closes itself in which means I can use it for battery storage in my travel pack.
This is a well thought out…over performing charger…and manages to make it all look sexy.
Big thumbs up!!
This dual camera battery charger has been working great for me. It truly transformed my photography experience. It offers seamless integration into my workflow. Enjoying the fast charging capability ensures that I spend less time waiting for batteries to charge and more time capturing stunning photos. Another great feature is the smart digital display, it provides real-time information on charging status, adding convenience to the process. Additionally, the magnetic snap cover adds a touch of elegance and protects the charger when not in use. Another thing I like a lot is the high-quality materials, it feels robust and durable, giving me confidence in its longevity. It’s very user-friendly, the design makes it incredibly easy to use. Overall, this charger has exceeded my expectations, it offers fast charging, great material quality, and ease of use, and it’s great for this price.
I’ve been using the Sony NP-FW50 battery charger for my photography sessions, and it’s been a stellar addition to my gear. The elegant design fits right in with my professional equipment, and the broad compatibility means I can use it across various camera models. What impressed me most is the double charging speed; it powers up my batteries in no time, making sure I’m always ready to capture the moment. The enhanced safety features give me confidence that my batteries are charged with care. This charger is a must-have for any photographer looking for efficiency and reliability.
I ordered this llano NP-FW50 Dual Camera Battery PD 18W Fast Charger Case to use with my Sony NP-FW50 batteries. I can now charge 2 of them at once, and with it’s LED display. I can also tell which batteries are full, or need charging. I can also carry 2 SD Cards inside it as well. This dual battery charging hub feels really well built and solid, and with it’s magnetic closing lid. I do not have to worry about my items falling out when stored in it. Over all I am glad that I ordered this llano NP-FW50 Dual Camera Battery PD 18W Fast Charger Case, and would recommend it to anyone…
This charger boasts PD 18W fast charging capabilities, allowing me to recharge my Sony camera batteries in no time. With dual charging ports, I can simultaneously charge two batteries, ensuring that I always have a backup power source ready for extended shooting sessions. The magnetic snap cover securely holds the batteries in place during charging, preventing accidental disconnection and ensuring a reliable power supply. The charger features a smart digital display that provides real-time information about the charging status. This allows me to monitor the charging progress at a glance, ensuring that my batteries are ready to go when I need them. The compact and lightweight design of this charger makes it perfect for travel. Its slim profile and magnetic snap cover make it easy to slip into my camera bag or backpack without adding bulk or weight.
This a fantastic charging option for anyone who shoots with a Sony camera utilizing NP-FW50 batteries.
I own several aftermarket NP-FW50 chargers as well as an OEM Sony charger. This gem puts all of them to shame. It is fast, very fast.
The first time I used it, I was startled to see the battery percentage on the charger’s LED screen increase like the price on a gas pump when I fill up my truck. It is at 30 percent, now it is 31 percent, now 32 percent, etc. This was with a 30-watt Gan PD charger block. You can see the speed in real time in the attached video. I assume a lower-power charging block would not yield the same speed.
None of my other chargers approach anywhere near this speed. Color me impressed.
The flip-open lid makes this a battery storage device as well as a charger. There are also a couple of slots under the lid to store extra SD cards. The lid snaps closed with a solid thunk, so your batteries won’t fall out.
According to the user guide that came with the product, the charger’s output is 1.5A for a single battery, which drops to 1A when you are charging two batteries. I assume that means you get the fastest charge when topping off a single battery.
Even charging two batteries, this thing is far faster than any of my other NP-FW50 chargers.
It is small enough to fit in a pocket in my main camera bag. I won’t leave for a shoot without it!
First of all, I’d like to point out an error in the listing’s photos under the “Wide Compatibility” photo. The Sony A7RV is included as a compatible camera model, but that’s not the case because the Sony A7RV uses NP-FZ100 batteries.
With that said, I’m really intrigued by this charger’s design–It’s unlike any other charger I’ve used. This charger is a two-bay charger, meaning it’s capable of holding two batteries. The smart digital display provide an accurate (or so it claims) reading of each battery’s current battery reading. There’s a button with a fingerprint logo that can be pressed to turn on the display. On the side is the USB-C port to connect for charging. Inside the case, there’s two slots for SD Cards, and of course, two slots for NP-FW50 batteries. The magnetic design is a plus because it means the case won’t open randomly and cause issues. Overall, I do recommend this charger. For the price, I find it’s a little out of reach for some, and also due to the error in the photo, I’ll knock it down one star. Other from that, it’s fantastic.
Pros
+ Elegant design, LED display provides individual reading of battery status
+ USB-C (why is micro/mini-USB still implemented in products for charging?)
+ Fast charging
+ SD Card slots can be a lifesaver at any photoshoot or filming session
Cons
– Slightly unaffordable for some
– Lanyard is tricky to install, took me around 15 minutes with the help of a small tool to push the lanyard through the holes on the side.
Review for: “llano NP-FW50 Dual Camera Battery PD 18W Fast Charger, Compatible with Sony Alpha A6000, A6500, A7, A7 II,A7S I, Smart Digital Display, Magnetic Snap Cover (Dual Ports NP-FW50)”
Very nice design, it similar to wireless Microphone for smartphone, but this is for NP-FW50 batteries.
It function both as nice pocket for 2 batteries and fast simultaneous charger.
I like the sleek design with LED showing percentage of charging capacity. And upon testing it shows considerably faster than the generic charger I have,
The 2 SD card storage is a nice features, because it happened to me that I grab the camera and later realized that the SD card is still attached to computer. So by always having 2 SD card in this pocket I never leave without SD card anymore.
It comes with fat USB-C charging cable to accommodate fast charging, and also a sleeve soft carrying bag.
Overall it is a nice fast charger and battery compartment to go.
This is a great little device that I didn’t know existed. I happen to have two generic back up batteries for my Sony Alpha, and now I have a perfect place to both keep them but also charge them and check the charge level. I would always have to pop all my batteries into the camera to check the charge before preparing for an outing. Now I can simply press a button and see the charge level, and just plug in the USB C if needed. It is also nice that there is SD card storage as well. I just happen to have a couple of those as spare too. It really is perfect. My only wishes for future iterations would perhaps be wireless charging like an AirPod case. It would be beyond awesome if the case had a built in battery as well, but I realize the technology isn’t there yet. The case would have to be almost 4 times the size of the camera batteries Anyway, this charging case is super practical and perfect for my needs. So glad it was recommended to me.
