I hooked it up to an old, now refurbished laptop and it sounded great, then I realised/remembered the laptop had a HDMI port and hooked it up to my TV and I thought what was the point of the speakers if I had the TV.
But when I compared the sound quality of the TV vs the speakers, in terms of quality: bass, tremble, darkness/richness of voices, and more, the Logitech speakers won. They are obviously not the best speakers in the world due to this price point.
But at this price point it beat my 32 Inch The Frame Samsung TV, and it makes watching movies, music, and being in voice calls much more enjoyableand engaging.
Replaced my 20 year old desktop pc speakers, which had developed a hum.
They’re mains powered (cable about 5 feet). Another lead from one of the speakers plugs into your green audio port on your pc.
Bought these as i wanted some simple speakers to use with my monitor and ps5 to save me wearing my headset all the time. The speakers themselves are really good quality and a nice size. They plug straight into my monitor with the aux outlet and the volume is adjusted with the dial. The sound quality is exceptional for what i need them for, i’d day if you were using them for any thing other than just pc/monitor speakers they probably wouldn’t be great but they are perfect for what i need them for!!
I genuinely didn’t think that I would find such a good pair of speakers with professional sound quality for such a low price. I have been running with these speakers for a number of months now and honestly, they’re amazing.
They are great quality and still project those smooth bassy tones that you’d expect to hear when listening to music. Granted, they’re not amazing quality like when using headphones but they will definitely do the job.
10/10
They’re great speakers for the price, got no complaints, obviously not gonna be top notch 10/10 because of how cheap they are, but for that price you’re not gonna get much better, definitely worth i
I’ll preface this review by saying I’m someone who grew up in the 80s, so listening to throat-thumping bass-heavy music is not something that appeals to me. I’m more attuned to a well-rounded audio experience, with a bit of bass for depth, but not so that I can feel it in my stomach.
I recently bought a new 32″ flatscreen TV for a small bedroom that was, sadly, but not unsurprisingly, rather tinny and thin sounding. I wanted to beef up the audio quality on a budget, but I didn’t want a chunky soundbar taking up space on the cabinet. Well, I’m happy to report that these Logitech Z150 speakers suit my needs perfectly. Their compact size means they can be hidden round the back of the TV, and at around 24 from the Amazon warehouse, they were a steal! I really like the sound they produce; they have a lovely natural, rich sound that replaces the TV speaker’s pitiful effort without cramming an unnatural thumpy bass vibration down my throat. Bass is there, but it’s modest. For normal TV viewing, I find it ideal because it adds a well-roundedness to speech and dialog. Not cinematic by any means, but I don’t want that while I’m watching the news.
I’m very happy with them, and I’ve recorded a video to help demonstrate the improvements they have made to my small TV’s sound.
I bought the Logitech Z150 PC speakers refurbished from Amazon back in April of 2018, and they’ve served me well for over five years now!
I still use them for general streaming and gaming on my PC, and I even used them for several years as makeshift studio monitors until I could afford a proper set.
The fact that I got the Z150s at a discount because they were refurbished just makes them even more fo a bargain.
Compact, good value for money plug and play speakers. Small footprint, light on Bass, but but with a 50mm speaker that was an expectation. Very clear ‘spoken word’ reproduction and adequate musicality over a wide variety of genres. There are two 3.5 mm stereo jack sockets on the front of the right hand speaker, one is a headphone jack and the other has a music note symbol printed adjacent to the jack – I haven’t figured out what that does, but it doesn’t seem to function, not that that really matters. While the 25mm diameter volume controls the volume of the speakers, the knob does not control the volume of the headphone, that is adjusted by the volume ‘slider’ control on your PC.
Supplied with a mains adapter for power they don’t need batteries to run. The large volume control knob on the left channel speaker also turns them on and off, assuming the mains adapter is left plugged in and switched on of course, the knob does not turn the mains adapter on.
Very easy to set up. The right channel speaker is already connected internally to the left channel and the connecting cable is long enough to allow good separation of the speakers. The mains adapter plugs into the left channel speaker and the hook-up is completed by plugging the audio input lead into your source device. The audio lead also comes out of the left channel speaker supplied with a good length of cable and has a standard 3.5mm stereo jack plug on it. This should be compatible with the headphone socket of most phones and MP3 players.
I found the sound quality to be good for such small speakers. You shouldn’t expect concert hall quality blasting our at high volume. These are desktop speakers after all and for such small speakers I found the bass was remarkably good. There are no bass/treble controls so you get what you get but the tone is fine. Overall a nice little set of speakers and I would definitely recommend them.
No bad by any means but not particularly amazing either, but then what do you expect for the price?
The speakers look fine and are made from reasonably good quality materials and have a little weight to them. The wires connecting the two speakers are a little short at about 1.2m and the power cable is also not really very long but it is perfectly fine. I currently have them laid down beneath my PC monitor and they look fine on their sides.
The sound quality is not too bad for a set of desktop speakers and they are much better than cheaper options, my last set were cheaper (around 12) and they were very cheapy and rattly.
My only concern is that the audio connectors are only on the right speaker, and with the short cables, if you want to set up your PC on the left then you might have a bit of a faf switching the left and right audio channels about (if that’s important to you) To get round this longer wires would be nice, although a switch to swap the left and right channel would also be acceptable.
Look no further – good quality, clear sound, compact and loud
If you are looking for good quality speakers that are compact, look good and are good value for money, these are it. You do not need to look any further.
I struggled for weeks to find new speakers for my desktop, even bought two and returned them, until I found these. I was very flexible with my budget willing to spend up to a 100 but wanted something that does not take too much space.
The quality of these speakers compared to other similar sized speakers is amazing. Of course you should not expect more than what you would get for speakers this size but these impressed me. The previous speakers Watts/Size was more/larger than these speakers but these are by far louder and have extremely clear sound. No hiss.
These are powered by mains adaptor which is good as with previous USB speakers sometimes the computer voltages tend to crackle USB powered speakers sound. For some reason all my USB speakers crackled based on my CPU fan making sounds.
Would not recommend for laptop as not USB powered if you want speakers on the go.
Rated 3 Watts but box says 6 Watts so I am guessing that is the maximum.
Pros:
Aesthetically pleasing, quite compact but deliver a nice punch. Very easy to set up – as you only have to plug a lead into the audio jack.
The cable is a decent length, but people who wish to have their speakers far from their appliance may wish to get a cable extension, as it’s ~4ft.
Good sound quality, crisp and can be turned up very loud.
Can be used with other devices such as tablets or phones, but a connecting able isn’t provided.
Cons:
Although there is bass, it is lacking quite a bit, so for people who enjoy bass driven music or like to feel their desk shake when something explodes on Call of Duty, these speakers probably aren’t what you’re looking for. They still deliver a satisfactory gaming experience though.
Overall, a nifty little pair of speakers that are compact, good looking and pack a nice little punch. The only reason it didn’t get a 5* review is due to the slightly disappointing lack of bass.
