Bought for bathroom because it will run off of 4xAA batteries. its neat and well formed, but best of all the sound quality is very good, for the price, well recommended. 1 star subtracted because the centre round knob does too many things, when you want to switch off it goes to mute, then on again then you have to get the pressing time just right for it to turn off, apart from that a great little radio.
This is a great little radio at an appropriate price-point. It is similar to other DAB radio in terms of presetting your favourite radio stations. Volume is great for the size of the unit and looks impressive. Nevertheless, in terms of the layout of functions, or buttons if you prefer, I would have preferred a separate on/off button, not where it is placed here on the central dial. As I bought this for my elderly Mum, I think there are simpler units out there. I’m not sure she’ll be able to access the various functions of the radio easily with her deteriorating eyesight. In my humble opinion the central dial does too much: on/off, volume, up/down. Just have different buttons! Fatigue of the central dial, as a result of continuous use, may set in in the future. Only time will tell.
In short this is a lovely radio but consider who you are buying it for. It might not be the best unit out there for the elderly, those with poor eyesight, or individuals who are neurologically challenged.
Hello, I’ve purchased this speaker a little over a month ago and I was fed to wait to get see if there was anything wrong with it before writhing my review.
I’m short, it’s an amazing little speaker. It’s very quiet but you can fiddle with the settings to make it louder and have a bit more bass. Do note that when you up the bass it doesn’t like it that much as it’s starts to crackle and sound a bit horrible with some songs. But it’s more than loud enough for one or two people in a household.
I like the fact that you can move it around with you as it can take AA batteries. However it doesn’t last long at all with little cheap batteries so a portable charger would be a sufficient option/backup.
For the price and for what it can do I do think this is a good option but do note that the bass and loudness isn’t the best but for the size and cost you can’t really go wrong.
I’m thinking of moving it in my bedroom as an alarm clock/speaker and getting a speaker that can handle the bass without it crackling some of the time.
I hope this helps
Reece!
Bought to replace a very tired old DAB. VERY satisfied with quality of sound and the ease of storing favourite stations.would buy again but don’t expect to have to!
Happy to recommend and not extortionate either.
Needed a new radio for my daughter as an extra xmas gift, after looking at so so many, decided on this one and its lovely. Its lightweight, compact, with colour screen and a nice sound.
It has the volume on the front as a dial rather than up and down buttons. Reception is great and picked up everything we wanted
Would reccomend
Perfect size for us to have in the kitchen, to keep the dog company during the day. Finds digital channels easily. Sound is ok. (Nothing special, but certainly not tinny). Only real issue we have is it eats batteries. Didn’t want to use mains power because of electric costs soaring. Thought batteries would be better. But new Duracell batteries (4 X AA) will last one day before battery low light pops up. It will last another half day before dying, leaving us searching for more batteries and the dog searching to hear his favourite songs!
For the price this is a good radio, I think it looks good and sounds good, It was easy to set up and there are plenty of preset options, One thing that some people may not like is that the lowest light setting may be too bright for a bedroom at night. this is not a problem for me though, All in all I really like this radio and recommend i
