I bought these to add to my children’s Pokmon obsession. These are excellent for quick builds/to keep little hands busy. I’m glad they’re offering more variety now than the standard 4 Pokmon we were seeing for awhile.
These would be perfect for stocking stuffers. Easy to assemble, no misshapen parts, quality comparable to legos.
I would definitely recommend this for any pokmon lovers. It comes with four pokeballs and four pokmon that need to be put together. There are instructions on how to put them together, pretty simple. This set is compatible with other mainstream building bricks, which is a plus.
I love Pokemon and I love brick sets. But I think almost $30 for this set is really expensive. These are very small building sets. They are easy and quick to build. The balls do not need any assembly except to put two halves together. Due to the size of the figures and the way the weight is distributed, some of them do not stand well on their own without the Pokeball. Personally I think there are less expensive options to buy Pokemon figures instead of this set, especially if it is for a child. I am still giving this four stars because it’s Pokemon and the figures are really cute.
I ordered the Mega Pokmon Building Toys in the Grass-Type Trainer Team option. Bulbasaur is the most recognizable of these Pokmon, but my 8YO knows Pokmon better than I do. With 118 pieces, the set was an easy one for my daughter, but it would likely be more challenging for younger children. Regardless of age, if the child likes Pokmon characters, then this set will be a win. Colorful poke balls, poseable characters, entertainment while building, and enjoyment for play after the build is finished — it’s a fun kit for Pokmon fans. I’m pleased with the product.
This set is perfect for kids play dates. There are 4 small, easy, builds here that each have their own set of instructions. The kids may fight over who gets which Pokmon, but honestly you can make it a blind draw for the character and pokeball. The sets do not come in the balls, which makes doing that easier. Oddish and Bulbasaur were my two favorites in this set.
Mega quality is good and the prints look great. I love that there are other pokeball variants, as up to this point I had only seen mega make the standard red ball.
Overall I’m a fan. Fun quick and easy! Gotta catch’em all well at least these 4!
This Mega Pokmon Building Toys Set Grass-Type Trainer Team is a great gift idea for Pokmon and Lego brick fans. I like the idea and the figures are cute. We did find the execution to need some work though. I gave this set to my 12-year-old. Two figures he built without issues, the other 2 were the cause of a lot of frustration. Every time he tried to add a piece, another piece would fall off. I ended up helping him because he was getting quite upset. Today, we had a 7-year-old in the house, and he was immediately attracted to these Pokballs. He told me the Pokmon are supposed to be in the balls not on top of them, so when he started trying to take them off to put them in the balls, pieces started falling off the figures. So, the way they are made now, they are more to look at than really to play with as the pieces don’t really stay together well.
I requested this product for my 6-year old son who loves Pokemon and LEGO. The Pokemon were fun to play with and look good, but they were hard to assemble.
The Pokemon were difficult for my son to assemble, and he is able to build many LEGO sets rated well above his age without trouble. The pieces are stiff and take a lot of force to connect.
Once assembled, he plays with the Pokemon a lot, but occasionally the pieces come apart. He has fun playing with them, but I am not sure they provide much extra value over standard Pokemon figures.
Overall, the set has high appeal because of the license (Pokemon), but as a building kit, it is subpar.
My kiddo is a bit of Pokemon nut. He has a Mega Pikachu, Eevee and a Dragonite. This augments his collection by 4 characters and 4 full size poke balls to boot. He built each character in about 10 minutes but unlike LEGO was frustrated at times as Mega seems a bit more fragile at intermediate steps. All the pokemons are cute and well made. However, the one with the big 4 leaves on his head does not fit in his pokeball without some disassembly which was a tiny bit disappointing but hey, he is fine with it so who am I to complain.
Overall, a great value.
I have built a couple of these sets in the past with my children. They’re pretty cool. The pieces are unique in some aspects. The quality is decent. I think some of the mega blocks pieces should be a little tighter. They do a good job capturing the overall idea of what they’re going for. The instructions are pretty good. One long strip. They can be played with when finished too.
As far as the value goes. These usually sell for 8 to 9 dollars a piece by themselves. I would say it’s better to find a 4pack at the right price. Unfortunately you’re stuck with what they put into the 4pack.
The builds are cute, sturdy, and accurate. Fun to play with when done. The ball is awesome. Good size as well. Especially if you have some of the environment sets.
A cute little build set from Mattel’s Mega line.
It comes with four Pokmon to build. Once built, each one can be attached to the top of its ball for a fun way to display them.
They are fairly simple and quick builds, but it will likely keep a child’s attention beyond the initial build. I think they would still be something that will really be liked by a Pokmon fan and can be played with or used to pose them in action as a display on a shelf.
