I purchased this after a lot of researching at the time for the best bang for your buck / beast mode gfx. Although I had a powerful pc before my gfx was always struggling, not now since buying this beaut, I’m now running all games on ultra and beyond impressed with it. It handles new games great and older ones like butter!
The installation was easy, I did have some snagging to sort with the power cables, just a lack of dual atx connections but once sorted it worked like a treat.
Whole heartedly recommend this gfx card for people wanting to experience some top end gfx and benefit from Nvida tech. I won’t be going back to AMD now
Just received this today and in advance I also had received the code for a free game in advance. First RTX game I thought. I’m not in the UK but have to order from the UK website and the card arrived as always in a reasonable time.
Installation is totally straight forward, and powered on the PC – 2 minutes later and a quick driver update and everything was working as expected.
Downside – The promotion code offered at the time which is valid for about 2 more weeks at the time of writing (Black Myth: Wukong) is only valid for purchases in the UK – I spent 1/2 hour on support and they told me the code will not work.
I hate when you purchase something as expensive as this and there’s this misleading promotion associated with it. I feel disappointed but I shouldn’t.
Note, this is nothing to do with MSI either and there’s no promotion offered in ROI from any retailers, something Nvidia also confirmed. Given this was an offer right next to the price and I checked nothing in the T&Cs about UK, I am disappointed. I therefore offer a 4 star review even though the card itself is exactly what I needed.
Paired it with a Ryzen 7800x3D and32 GB of Corsair 6000 MHz ddr5 on an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard. Runs everything I’ve thrown at it like a dream and Half Life: Alyx is buttery smooth and so detailed….I was surprised at the jump in performance from a 3070 Ti with Ryzen 5800x….big difference. Buy one, you won’t regret i
The card arrived intact, perfectly packaged and in time. The performance of the card is unbelievable, quality is amazing, value for money is absolutely worth it. I upgraded from RX5700XT and not regretted it at all.
This is the first time using a 2 fan card on my builds and was worried about cooling as these cards do get hot as I use these on my builds normally the 3 fan ones.
The ideal is def higher than the bigger cards but they hold well when benchmarking so all good.
I only used this as I wanted to build a bit smaller build.
This graphics card is good, however its not the best value for money out there (although still much better value than an 4080 etc). The build seems good as its an MSI one, however, and I believe that this is just a one-off with my card, there is a bit of a humming/grinding noise some times due to the one blade of the fan being a few mm bended. This is something I can fix myself , however I would expect better QC from MSI. Still not a major issue though.
The performance in games its there and this one has 16GB of Ram unlike most 4070 editions , which makes it more future proof.
I was in a similar situation to other reviewers. I am upgrading from a near 8 year old 1080 which still holds up well on modern titles, so expectations were high.
My use case for this card is to play VR (HL Alyx) and others, as well as to enjoy modern games like Cyberpunk and Hogwarts Legacy with high graphics settings. I am pleased to say that these games run like a joy with the 4070 Ti Super. I won’t go too into detail with benchmarks/performance as you may easily find these online, but this card has great value for performance and I can max out any game at 2K resolution without frame generation, if you really crank the settings on Cyberpunk you may get some slowdowns but this is where framgen (which yes, is a serious value proposition) can bring your frames back up with minimal artifacting.
I also got this to use on the Vive Pro 2 and I can comfortably push 90 FPS 5k Ultra on HL Alyx, turning the settings down to High and I can reach stable 120 FPS at 5k.
This specific Ventus model is surrounded by some controversy as it performed slightly worse than similar vendors (talking 2-5%) but with a firmware update I found it brought the difference down to only 2% which is such a small difference that makes practically no difference in the real world.
In the box you find the standard 12V Nvidia power connector adapter (infamous for melting, so make sure it is connected firmly, although as this card draws significantly less power is less likely to become an issue). You will also find a support bar which attaches to the same fixing points on your case which is supposed to help prevent sagging, although I found did not sit right to do so.
Overall I am really happy and I hope that this card will last years to come like my original 1080.
While you don’t get 4080 speeds this is a great GPU for both games as well as for 3D rendering, Photoshop, and Video Work due to the extra Cuda Cores and the 16gb of VRAM. That extra VRAM above the12gb on the 4070ti and 4070 Super will make it a good card for 4K gaming at medium settings and future-proof it in more demanding up and coming games. But in terms of gaming it’s a 1440p powerhouse at max settings.
It does suffer with a slight loss of performance against rival companies 4070ti supers by a margin of 3-5% less performance. This is a known firmware issue which is reportedly being worked on to fix it. Nonetheless, it’s cheaper than the rivals and availability is good, plus the minor loss in performance against more expensive variants is not really noticeable when playing games – afterall we are taking maybe as little as 10 or less frames per second and you will not be able to tell the difference in game.
There’s no RGB bling on this card so don’t expect an LED lightshow, but that might be more down to personal tastes and I for one don’t miss extra lighting in my already well lit case.
All in all. It’s a good solid card that gets you to entry level 4K gaming or very very competitive 1440p gameplay if you’re into eSports and need the raw fps to give you the edge.
Good value for money and not too far from being on par with much more expensive 4080 systems.
