I paid exactly half what it would have cost for Sonys original. Don’t get me wrong. I always use Sony batteries in Sony equipment. So this purchase was for emergency use only.
What I particularly like other than the quite unique brown aesthetic is it can be charged directly via USB C. This on its own is so handy. Sonys batteries can only be charged in camera which is not convenient or in an expensive Sony charger that they don’t provide with the camera I bought annoyingly.
Danger is Sony will update firmware and this battery will be rejected by the camera. I am yet to try that but it’s always a risk.
In meantime you get a decent battery at half price
I don’t always have the time, energy, or space to rig up my camera for video. Sometimes I just want a bunch of batteries and to have as small a form factor as possible. These last just as long as Sony batteries, both during use and also sitting charged on my shelf. I really like the color and it makes it easier to distinguish this battery from my other spares.
The USB-C port charges fast and it is a feature that I wish every battery had.
Battery life on this thing is great and seems up to par with the OEM Sony batteries the I own (if not better).
Price is affordable too, and I’d recommend this as my top battery pick for any Full Frame Sony shooter.
Great battery for my a7 IV. I have a few of these and they work great because it has a USB-c port. At some rare shoot where I completely run out of batteries, it’s nice to know that I can charge them without my big brick.
I normally charge my camera batteries by plugging in the camera to a USB port. This takes a good while for a full charge. Having a port on the battery itself is great way to charge more quickly without needing to bring along a dedicated battery charger. It also cuts down on wear and tear to the camera USB jack.
This battery lives up to its description. It doesn’t trigger the third-party battery warning on my A7CII, it has convenient USB-C charging, and the battery life is equivalent to the OEM Sony battery.
The most important thing a battery does for you is power your camera for as long as possible. To make sure this battery held up to its claimed capacity, I tested it in my A7CII while recording 4k24p footage. I’m happy to report that this battery was able to record for 2 hours 6 minutes, slightly outlasting the OEM battery which lasted 2 hours 2 minutes.
Based on my testing, I fully recommend this battery for anyone looking for a high value replacement or addition for their Sony camera.

I like that this battery, out of the box, is like an OEM battery in that it charges relatively quickly and appears to hold a charge as long as an OEM battery. I don’t know about degradation yet, but at this price point, it’s still a deal even if it degrades twice as fast (which I don’t think will happen).
I also like that the USB port is right on the batter and I don’t have to have a charging base which is just more gear to carry. Great option.
