This NEEWER GM34 Arca-Swiss quick release is compact and easy to use. It uses full metal construction for strength and durability.
– The quick release works with all Arca tripod heads and standard tripod heads (dependant on the size) with a 1/4″ thread.
– The lever dislodges the base plate fairly easily, allowing you to do handheld photography quickly. It also snaps back into place just as fast as you remove it.

I have been using this clip-on system since I started photography, and I have to admit that NEEWER is improving more and more. Now they have this clip system; I’m shocked! It fits exactly as my original one does without any issues at all. I love the drop-in quick-release base; it makes it very convenient to put my camera on and off the tripod easier and faster. I have no issues at all with the build quality. It indeed shows how much effort they put into making this design. The rubber pads are nice and solid, and there is no friction between the moving parts. I am pretty pleased with it and Might consider buying more if I need to replace them, but we all know that these products are meant to last for years.

Unlike other Arca Swiss camera mounts where you have to carefully slide the plate into the holder then lock it, the GM34 allows you to drop it in from the top, in any direction. Amazingly, the camera plate is also compatible with Peak Design camera capture mounts, and this entire kit is half the price of a single replacement Peak Design mounting plate.
Neewer has added value with a couple of other useful features: The base itself can also attach to an Arca Swiss tripod mount; The camera plate has holes to attach a thin strap; And the base can be screwed in to a 3/8″ or ” bolt, with the included adaptor.If you need a quick and easy way to mount and unmount your camera, this is a good one.
As an amateur photographer, I recently integrated this NEEWER GM34 camera quick release plate kit into my gear, and it’s been working great. Setting up can’t be easier. I love its quick switch feature which truly allows for one-second device changes, and is invaluable when switching between my tripod and handheld shots. I tested it with my DSLR and my action camera using the standard 1/4″ screw, and both were held securely without any wobble. During a recent outdoor shoot, the automatic locking mechanism proved its worth. I quickly mounted my camera with a firm press, and the plate locked instantly, providing peace of mind that my camera was safe. The extra safety lock button is a thoughtful addition, ensuring no accidental detachments. Also love the robust yet lightweight anodized aluminum build is perfect for both studio and outdoor use, and the nonslip rubber pads prevent any scratches to my gear. One slight downside is that the QR clamp is only compatible with PD QR plates and the included Arca type mounting plate, but this hasn’t been an issue for my setup. Overall, this NEEWER GM34 has enhanced my photography workflow, making it smoother and more efficient. Highly recommended for photographers looking for reliable and quick camera mounting solutions.
The quick release plate is great, it’s a bit thicker at 8.9mm than the Peak Design plate at 7.3mm, but otherwise is essentially the same. It works perfectly with my Peak Design Capture, and once tightened with the hex key doesn’t shift around on the base of my camera. The plate appears identical to the quick release used on other Neewer products, like their LT35 tripod.
The quick release auto-lock is as well, and is engaged automatically by pushing the clip in. There’s a lock switch to prevent automatic disengagement. To remove, pull the two levers together and it will pop off (so make sure you’re holding the camera!). The action is okay, but doesn’t feel super smooth. I found when clicking the plate in, sometimes the lever to disengage snaps back quite hard making it require a bit more force to disengage after, but that’s really a nit-pick. It’s not quite as elegant as the lock system Neewer used on the LT35 tripod.
All in all the product does what it advertises.
I like that the quick release plate also fits onto ARCA-type compatible tripods; I was able to fit this quick release plate system onto my tripod securely. I believe the installation is straightforward and I did not hear any rattling.
Construction wise, the metal used feels rigid and sturdy; I did not see any physical damage nor imperfections with the exterior finishes. I believe the included hex Allen keys are will allow me access to the internal the locking mechanism and perhaps lubricate the parts.
So far, this have been help for quickly transferring COB LED video lights we have other light stands and rigs; I recommend at least a pair if you want convenient quick swaps between setups and mounting solutions. The locking mechanism is easy to secure and doesn’t require too much effort.
I really like how convenient this makes my everyday camera swapping game, i own the backpack clip with the same square mount which allows me to easily swap between my backpack and tripod to fit any situations.
This clip has some added protection to avoid accidentally dropping your expensive gear since it uses 2x different locking mechanism.
I initially didn’t like this because it didn’t fit flush with my tripod. Then, I just removed the little bumper guides on the bottom. I didn’t even need a tool. They were hand tightened. This is compatible with the PD base and quick release system. Works great.
J’utilise des produits de marque Peak Design et j’en suis satisfaite. Notamment le trpied et la capture clip. J’ai donc des plaques de cette marque visses demeure sous mes botiers et certains objectifs. Bien que ces plaques soient compatibles Arca swiss, j’avais des proccupations au niveau scurit du matriel lorsque je montais mes appareils sur d’autres supports de stabilisation que le trpied PD puisque ces plaques n’ont pas de vis de protection anti-glissement afin de s’insrer dans la capture clip. Ce produit Neewer me permet donc de monter scuritairement mes botiers et de profiter du dgagement rapide sur tous mes supports grce la compatibilit avec les produits Peak Design. Je le recommande. Il n’y a que le 2e verrou duquel je questionne la solidit de la pice, mais le 1er verrou me parat dj trs scuritaire alors le 2e n’est qu’une double scurit.
Does work as advertised, although not as simply as inferred. Intended use is clearly to be mounted on an Arca-Swiss plate despite the threading for a mounting screw on the bottom – just putting the plate onto a tripod or monopod without modification will result in a gap created by the “anti-drop” screws that are intended to limit how the plate can slide in an Arca-Swiss mount. However, by removing those two screws (they do nothing else), it is possible to put on just like a tripod head – makes an excellent monopod head for lenses with rotating collars.
As a fulltime WFH employee who uses their DSLR as a webcam, as well as a hobbyist photographer, I needed a quick way to attach and detach my camera. Constantly having to screw my camera onto the stationary desk mount was a pain and started to scratch the bottom of camera.
Neewer’s quick release resolved all of my issues. The only assembly was screwing the base onto the tripod, and screwing the plate onto the bottom of my camera. Literally set up in less than 2 minutes, which included opening the package.
The mount is SOLID and has a locking mechanism to keep your camera secure. You can easily release the camera with 2 fingers while your other hand holds the camera.
I have bought 3 products from Neewer in the last month: a studio light set, a neutral density filter, and now the camera quick release. All 3 are extremely high quality with very competitive pricing.
