Well, this one is a little bit disappointing. The general build quality is great and the suction cup, especially brand new, works like a charm and hasn’t fallen off the bathroom mirror where I’ve set up to test it since receiving it. But unfortunately the ball head included is pretty bad. It doesn’t tighten adequately. For mounting something pretty light, and especially something you won’t be moving and adjusting too often, or when it’s not mounted on anything that will be moving and expecting a lot of bumps, its not bad. I just still wish the whole thing can tighten with more stability.
This works pretty well holding up my phone for my to see where I’m going in my older car. It is easy to setup and the suction keeps it exactly where I put it without any slipping.
It is a bit of a bulky solution, and can block a bit of my view out of my windshield, but so far so good.
Very impressed so far. The kit comes assembled with a suction cup mount and has options to directly mount a phone, camera, etc., to the screw base. The kit also comes with an attachment to mount a GoPro or GoPro type mount and a universal smartphone adapter… the type that has an expanding clamp. The smartphone adapter is big enough to hold my S24 Ultra with a case, so it should be able to hold any size phone.
The articulating arm is well made and snug down easily with two thumb screws. I have had the mount stuck to a picture frame with a glass panel horizontally for over an hour, and so far so good. I am going to try this out in my car and in a plane.. If I run into any issues, I will give an update, but it’s looking good so far.
I recently bought the NEEWER Suction Cup Mount, and it has quickly become an essential accessory for capturing high-quality footage on the go. This mount is well-designed and offers excellent functionality for both smartphones and action cameras.
Firstly, the suction cup’s grip is impressive. It adheres firmly to the windshield or any smooth surface, providing a stable and secure hold for your devices. The quick buckle lock mechanism ensures that the mount stays in place even during rough rides, which is crucial for maintaining stable footage.
The magic arm and 360 pan with 90 tilt ball head are standout features. They offer great flexibility, allowing you to adjust the angle and orientation of your camera or phone with ease. Whether you’re aiming for a specific shot or trying to capture a unique angle, the adjustable ball head makes it simple to find the perfect position.
The mount is compatible with a range of devices, including iPhones, GoPros, and other action cameras. The included phone holder mount adapter is a nice touch, ensuring that your phone fits securely and is easy to access. This makes it a versatile tool for various recording needs, from driving videos to scenic shots.
The build quality is solid, with a durable construction that feels reliable and robust. The materials used are sturdy and well-made, which gives confidence that the mount will hold up over time and withstand regular use. The mount is also easy to install and remove, making it convenient for users who frequently switch between different devices or need to reposition the mount.
One of the things I appreciate is the versatility of the mount. It can be used for a variety of purposes, from capturing road trips and driving footage to recording outdoor adventures. The ability to quickly adjust the angle and position ensures that you can get the best possible shots, no matter the situation.
Overall, the NEEWER Suction Cup Mount is a high-quality and versatile accessory that offers excellent performance and flexibility. Its strong suction cup, adjustable ball head, and compatibility with multiple devices make it a valuable tool for capturing high-quality footage in various settings. I highly recommend this mount for anyone looking to enhance their video recording capabilities.
This is a versatile suction cup mount that is compatible with both smartphones as well as action cameras. This mount is perfect for anyone looking to capture high-quality footage from their smartphone or action camera. Whether shooting with an iPhone or a GoPro, this mount works equally well. The best part about this mount is its compatibility with both smartphones and action cameras. This flexibility allows me to switch seamlessly between devices without needing multiple mounts. The Magic Arm and a 360 Pan 90 Tilt Ball Head provide even more freedom when it comes to positioning and adjusting the angle of my device. This kind of flexibility comes in handy when I am trying to capture the perfect shot on the go. The quick buckle lock ensures that the mount is stable and firmly in place, providing peace of mind while driving. I’ve used this mount on both an outside windshield and other smooth surfaces, inside and it has remained securely fastened throughout. The added phone holder mount adapter also allows me to use my smartphone hands-free in the car, making it a versatile and practical accessory for everyday use. The suction cup is very durable and even during peak summer days with outside temperatures exceeding 35 C, the mounts remained secured to the windshield. Overall, this mount is reliable and versatile, making it a great choice for capturing action shots or everyday videos.
Used it initially to hold the phone to record the setup of a rooftop tent on top of a Bronco. Really easy to adjust the exact angle and the suction mount really seems to have a solid grip (although I am not sure I would use it on a moving vehicle). The phone grip it comes with is the design I seem to like the best…pinch the grips to open and you get a nice secure hold of the phone. Sometimes you need a slightly different mount and this is a nice addition to my accessories.
This suction cup camera/phone mount by NEEWER is a nice piece of kit. It ‘s reasonably well built with the arm and articulating joints being metal and the base being plastic and the suction cup a silicone like rubber. IT is a good size and quite portable and it’t weight ratings (a moving load capacity of 1.1lb/0.5kg and stationary load capacity of 4.4lb/2kg) make it ideally suited for action cameras and cel phones as advertised. With three pivot points there are a lot of options to choose just the right angle and orientation for your device. All materials feel good and everything moves/articulates smoothly with no issues. There is a standard 1/4″-20 sized thread on the end and both a GoPro fingers mount and an adjustable sulphone mount included both of which can be screwed onto the threads. This makes it very flexible to handle most or all action cameras and popular cel phones. I do find the suction cup to be adequate but it isn’t super strong and yo util definitely have to make sure to mount it on a very smooth and clean surface (glass or similar). I tested it on the front windshield of my SxS/UTV machine I na dusty environment and it did lose suction and fall off so I would recommend it more for automotive uses in cleaner environments and definitely check the suction often and use a tether line (not included).
I like that the phone holder portion of this suction cup mount has two distinct positions which gives me flexibility with the positioning; I did not have any issues with the suction cup falling off while mounted in the interior of my vehicle. I believe the installation is straightforward and I did need to clean the glass surfaces prior to securing the mount on.
Construction wise, I love that the arm and ball head are solid metal; the plastic for the suction cup enclosure and lever felt like they have a high rigidity. The phone holder is probably the only part that feels less rigid compared to the other parts of the mount; the internal spring does have a very firm tension which held my phone securely in place.
I appreciate that the instruction manual does specifically state which surface types are not compatible with the suction cup. As a phone mount for our car, I like that it’s not too bulky and does not largely obstruct my view while driving; if we plan to book a rental car while traveling, this suction cup mount is perfect as it will work 100% versus bringing a vent mounted smartphone holder.
I was interested in videoing some “rollers” (as I’ve heard them called) with my DJI Action 4, so I thought this product might be an option.
Neewer’s own description clearly calls it an “outside windshield car mount,” but it’s curious to me that all featured photos of the product show the mount placed INSIDE the vehicle. So…is it safe to put my Osmo Action 4 on the outside of the window while I’m driving? They DO say it’s for “outside!”
As you’ll see in the attached video, I have successfully used it inside the car, but haven’t worked up the nerve to try it outside with my $400 camera. This reticence is exacerbated by the instruction manual, which adds a couple of cringe-inducing caveats: “Do not use on the exterior of high-speed vehicles” and “Consider using a safety harness for added security.” A safety harness? How exactly would THAT work?
And what is a “high-speed vehicle?” Well, the Amazon page for this mount does offer a definition: “When using it inside or outside the car, drive under 60 km/h (37mph), and check the suction strength hourly.”
I like a lot about this mount. The multiple adjustments make it possible to angle the camera just about any direction you want. And when I’ve stuck it to the glass on our front door, it does feel fairly secure. But I’m not sure I can trust a $20 mount to protect a camera that costs hundreds more. (Sorry Neewer!)
I want do want to try it! I’m just chicken. (Fun to use it on the inside window though!)
You’ve seen enough reviews by now, and function is obvious from the seller’s photos. As long as the windshield is well gripped this does an excellent job of holding position with my phone.
I found to get a good grip the suction cup and inside of the windshield have to be very clean. I also cheat a little by putting a tiny tiny amount of moisture on the inside of the cup, to help make a good initial seal. Don’t put too much moisture or heat coming through the windshield will change it to steam, which will expand the suction cop and make it fall off. Just enough to help make the initial seal works best for me.
This mount has great build quality, which is immediately evident upon handling it. The materials feel sturdy and durable.
However, be aware of the surface you’re attaching it to. Make sure you attach it to a clean, smooth surface. While it initially holds strong, if everything isn’t just right it can begin to lose suction over time. This can be a bit frustrating when trying to maintain a stable mount. And if attaching it to the outside of a car or somewhere you would lose it if it falls off, attach a safety cord to it.
When I first got this NEEWER suction cup mount, I was excited to test its capabilities on a weekend road trip with my family. We were heading to the Ontario lakeshore and I wanted to capture the scenic drive using my GoPro. Setting it up was straightforward; the 3.35″ suction cup adhered firmly to the car windshield, and the quick lock pressure buckle made sure it stayed in place without any fuss. I was impressed by how secure it felt, even on rough patches of road. The mount’s magic arm and the three 360 ball heads were incredibly versatile. I could easily adjust the camera angle to capture panoramic views and close-up shots with just a few twists. This flexibility was fantastic for getting creative shots of the winding roads and the lake. I also used the universal phone holder to switch to my smartphone for some live streaming, which fit perfectly and held securely.
One of the standout features was its robust build. Made from premium aluminum alloy, the mount felt durable and resistant to the elements. Despite its sturdiness, it was lightweight and portable, making it easy to pack and carry. However, I did have to remember to check the suction strength hourly as recommended, which was a bit of a hassle. Also, while it worked perfectly at lower speeds, I had to be cautious on the highway and consider using a lanyard for added security, which wasn’t included. Another aspect would be – suction cup mounts of this kind seems to perform very well on glass surfaces, but not too much on wood, regardless how smooth their surfaces would be. Overall, this NEEWER suction cup mount meets my expectations with its strong hold, versatility, and ease of use.
I was immediately impressed with the partial metal construction of this phone mount. The adjustable joints are metal, allowing you to get a very secure and stable fit. Suction cup is a bit larger than many other mounts but this allows it to stay put very securely. This mount has more angles and abilities than any other I have seen. It even comes with an additional mount for attaching a GoPro type action camera. The phone mount is spring loaded and takes a little effort to pop open. This keeps the phone snug and secure. There are a couple of ways you can attach the phone mount, depending on your situation. What I love most is with the longer and super adjustable arm, you can adjust it to avoid obstructing your phone’s camera for live streaming through your windshield. Makes an excellent storm chasing phone mount!
