Exercise Balls for Birthing and PregnancyExercise Balls for Rehabilitation and Healthy AgingSensory Exercise Ball

Affordable Exercise Balls for all Budgets and Uses

Inflatable exercise balls, often underestimated in their simplicity, are veritable Swiss army knives in the world of fitness and therapy. These seemingly basic spheres offer a wide range of applications that cater to individuals of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. From core strengthening to rehabilitation, from sensory therapy to office ergonomics, the possibilities are endless.

One of the most popular uses of inflatable exercise balls is core strengthening. By engaging the stabilizing muscles of the abdomen, back, and pelvis, these balls provide a dynamic surface for exercises such as crunches, planks, and bridges. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast looking to sculpt your abs or an athlete seeking to improve balance and stability, the exercise ball is your go-to tool.

But the benefits don’t stop there. Inflatable exercise balls are also widely used in physical therapy and rehabilitation settings. Their soft yet supportive surface allows for gentle, low-impact exercises that aid in recovery from injuries or surgeries. From postural correction to joint mobilization, therapists utilize these balls to facilitate movement and improve functional outcomes for their clients.

Moreover, inflatable exercise balls are invaluable tools in sensory therapy, particularly for individuals with sensory processing disorders and spectrum disorders. The gentle rocking and bouncing motions of the ball provide sensory input that can help regulate the nervous system and promote relaxation and focus. For children and adults alike, the exercise ball offers a safe and comforting space for sensory exploration and self-regulation.

In the realm of workplace wellness, inflatable exercise balls have gained popularity as ergonomic alternatives to traditional office chairs. By sitting on an unstable surface, individuals are prompted to engage their core muscles and improve posture throughout the workday. This not only reduces the risk of musculoskeletal issues but also enhances energy levels and productivity.

Beyond fitness and therapy, inflatable exercise balls find applications in various recreational activities, such as yoga, Pilates, and dance. Their versatility and portability make them ideal props for adding challenge and variety to workouts, both in the studio and at home.

In conclusion, the inflatable exercise ball is a multipurpose tool with limitless potential. Whether you’re striving for fitness goals, seeking therapeutic relief, or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, this humble sphere has something to offer everyone.

This peanut ball is good value for money, easy to inflate to your desired firmness depending on your usage. It’s a good size to sit on or do your exercises.

I’ve owned a number of these types of ‘Swiss balls’ in my time but not a peanut one.
This one is quite thin compared to previous ones I’ve had. It is still fine for use but may not withstand harsh treatment, such as when people decide to play football or volleyball with it (clearly not designed for that, but people get excited when they encounter these types of balls).

It doesn’t come with a pump, which was quite a surprise, given these days things you order from Amazon come with screws and screw drivers even, essentially everything you need to take the item out of the package, set it up and use it immediately. Fortunately, I had a pump available.

Like lots of these balls they don’t have a valve, just a straight hole, so it is a test of speed and accuracy to remove the pump and insert the stopper before losing a significant amount of air. My tip is to over-inflate the ball, so when you think there’s enough air in there, just keep on pumping away until the ball is almost bursting, that way you give yourself additional leeway on the air that escapes whilst swapping to the stopper.

The other Swiss balls I’ve had are ordered based upon size. This peanut one wasn’t but I’m not sure if that’s the norm with peanut shaped balls.

    It holds air/its shape well.
Useful for yoga, sitting on, as a stretching aid or back rest, or anything else you can think of.

This is a big peanut ball. It’s mission is to help with fitness, yoga or pilates. It does take a while to pump up, even with an electric pump. The material seems fairly soft, so I’m not 100% sure how strong it actually is. The colour is a light blue. I wouldn’t recommend inflating everyone you use it as it takes a while. It does the job for exercise. Its great value for money. So if your looking for a peanut ball, this may be the one.

Alright folks, gather ’round for the latest instalment of “What Have I Purchased Now?” featuring the PHYSIOWORX Peanut Ball. This gem is marketed as a multi-use wonder for everything from yoga and Pilates to rehab and birthing. Yes, you read that right – birthing. Let’s dive in, shall we?

First off, let’s address the elephant—or rather, the peanut—in the room: this thing doesn’t come with a pump. So, if you’re expecting to inflate it straight out of the box, think again. You’ll need to dig out your trusty pump or sprint to the nearest sports store before you can even think about using it. Once you’ve got your pump, be prepared for a bit of a circus act because there’s no valve to seal it off as you inflate. You’ve got to be quicker than Usain Bolt at the 100m dash to plug it before all that precious air escapes.

Size-wise, it’s a decent 50cm. Sturdy? Yes. Confidence-inspiring for use during pregnancy? Well, as a bloke, I can’t say I’ve tested it in that scenario, but let’s just say I wouldn’t bet my morning coffee on it holding up under serious pressure. Maybe it’s fine for some gentle bouncing or stretching, but if you’re heavily pregnant, you might want to keep a spotter handy or opt for something a bit more, well, reliable.

For those of us who aren’t sporting a baby bump, it’s pretty versatile. It’s decent for yoga poses, Pilates exercises, or just as an ergonomic seating option to engage your core while you work from home. It’s anti-burst, which is comforting, though I haven’t pushed it to its limits.

In summary, the PHYSIOWORX Peanut Ball is a mixed bag. Great for general exercise and seating, a bit of a hassle to inflate, and perhaps not the best bet for birthing unless you’ve got nerves of steel and a backup plan. Keep the pump handy, and may the odds be ever in your favour.

Unlike (some) other reviewers, I don’t simply copy & paste information from the advert. (I’m sure you really don’t need (or want) to read all the description yet again!) I want to try and give you my own personal views of it (good or bad) so you can decide for yourself whether to buy the item or not. (The fact that I’ve received this product free of charge through Amazon Vine has no influence at all. I always “tell it as it is!”)

Have you ever wanted to own a big peanut shaped ball of your own? You have! Well, you’re in luck then aren’t you, because here it is! All you need to do is order it, then when it arrives, fill it full of air (with the aid of a good pump if you have one) and away you go!

This peanut shaped blow up ball looks a little bigger than how you might imagine it to look like. That’s what I thought anyway. The one we received is blue in colour and looks reasonably robust. I think it will make an ideal way to exercise those pelvic floor muscles in pregnant women as well as strengthening the lower back muscles for those who suffer with lower back pains.

At the current price of 14.95p (with free delivery), I believe this product is reasonable value for the money. But, I think in the region of 10 would be a far more reasonable price to pay, especially as you need to purchase a pump separately. However, (if you’re happy paying this price), I *do* recommend it, as it exactly as advertised!

    Note:
I have not uploaded any photos as there are some already on here, and mine would not be adding anything new!

Cool item, I like how I don’t just roll off! The material is as usual and a bit tacky so you don’t just slide off when you look at it. I have known more than one type of tackiness with these and this is one of the ones that hold onto you better. The colour was a slight difference than in the picture. I feel it can be described as a sea/sky blue but not an aqua type colour. My peanut ball came with a plug in place and ready to blow up.
